Following the successful attack by the Eidolon, the enforcer with the leash does not hesitate to release the wolf. The other enforces raises his crossbow and fires a bolt at Garreth, who is just about to bridge ashore.

Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 231d8 ⇒ 1
Confirm: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 121d8 ⇒ 7

The bolt drives through the halfling monk like a knife through butter, leaving the halfling severely battered in its wake.

The wolf, bloodied by the vicious attack of the Eidolon, snaps right back at the creature, but misses.

Yow!

Dorn's eyes go wide at the impressive hit from the magic-user.

"Damn my eyes, boy, you actually know how to use that thing!" he breathes, his grin spreading into a huge, face-splitting smile. His axe is in his hand a split-second later, and he lashes out at the wolf before him.

Dorn axe swings low, and hack away at the enforcers legs, but before the nickname 'stumpy' can catch on, Radnor decides that enough is enough, and drives his lance through the man's heart. The limp body of the enforcers slumps down onto the pier.

The docks are empty, but it is only a question for how long.

Dorn wastes no time at all. He grabs the nearest body and starts dragging it towards the dock's edge.

"Oy! What can we weight these Razmiran buggers with?" he hisses to the others. "Quick, unmoor us from the dock, we'll need to get the boat moving as quick as we can!"

Dorn gives a cursory look through the lead enforcer's pockets-- specifically, he is hunting any sort of stamp or token of 'passage granted', that would have been theirs had they legally paid the toll.

Each enforcer was carrying a short sword, a light crossbow and padded armour, as well as a potion each. One of them was carrying a kind of stamp, though no paper or wax. Some commotion can be heard somewhat further away on the docks as Nuzzle slashes the rope with a strike of its claws. A first arrow flies overhead as the boat clears the dock with all aboard.

As the Abacus sails away, the moon rises over the glass river even though it is only morning, and the moon almost gets hit by an arrow. A number of cajoling enforcers spreads on the docks, but having no boat to launch the Abacus makes a swift escape.

As the boat clears the waters of Xer, Temel and the dwarves see the coast clear, and emerge briefly for a chat.

Bravo! Well done! I was worried for a moment when I heard fighting noises, but it seems you have handled it well.

It seema this area is more dangerous than I expected. I would suggest we devise a good plan for you to get access to the Grey Revelation Inn. I would suggest you pose as merchants, that seek a way station for a caravan. What do you think? That way, you would have free reign to look around in the tavern.

Metella dismisses Temed's plans rather disdainfully: Pff. Any Razmiran worth his salt will see straight through that. Why don't we give them a taste of their own medicine, and disguise you as religious pilgrims. They're sure to give you the proper respect, and you'll be free to move about.

There is obvious tension in the air between Temel and Metella, and each would surely see it as a personal victory should the adventurers choose their side.

Garret was almost in shock at the efficiency shown by his companions in the fight.

After the fight he asks his companions: "Can anyone use this wand of healing? If you would be so kind to use it on me, that bolt really hurt my arm!

When Temel and Mettella lay out the plans Garret chips in: "Both your plans have merit, although I would not want to offend the Razmiran Deity by posing as a pilgrim, therefore I like Temel's plan slightly better"

Completely missed the 7hp damage Garret got. Can anyone use a wand of CLW?

Radnor frowns, "I think myself and Dorn would look out of place as pilgrims, we might pass as merchants guards though. But do we really need that much deception? The fewer lies we tell the fewer we can get caught in. Why not say we are Pathfinders looking for suitable locations to explore? That would even give us an excuse to talk with people about their favourite local legends, and haunted gazebos, etc."

Temel smiles smugly at the affirmation of Garret, which quickly shifts to alarm as Radnor mentions his straightforward approach:
Nono! Acting as Pathfinders would be unwise! The previous envoys are sure to have identified themselves as being in league with them, so pathfinders suddenly appearing should send all alarm bells ringing. These Razmirans are not the type to ask questions first, it is absolutely necessary to have some form of disguise...

Sorry, I can't use the wand! But Tyraneus can, no doubt.

Dorn grins at Garrett's reaction to the dockside battle and slaps the halfling on the back in a jovial fashion.

"Wouldn't be a good day without a bit of blood, short stuff," he says cheerfully.

The discussion of plans makes him scowl, though, rubbing at one of the thicker scars on his skull. He gives a vaguely apologetic look to Metella, his fellow dwarf.

"I'm with Radnor on this. The two of us look, at best, like guards, not pious Razmir-lovers. I don't hold with tryin' to lie my way into anything-- can't hold all them stories in my head at the same time! -- but if we've got to lie our way in, that seems likelier to be believed than that we're priesty-poos."

He jerks a meaty thumb at Tyraneus. "You prob'ly want to keep yer yap shut about Saranrae, tho."

Dorn will try Perception checks to identify the potions if nobody has/can use Spellcraft on them.

Garret stretches his arms "Thanks Tyraneus that feels much better, you just hold on to the wand in case one of us is wounded again during this assignment."

Garret then turns to the group "Ok, merchants it is. Temel, can you give us some pointers how a merchant would behave in Razmiran?"

Garret also offers Radnor a wand: "Radnor, this is a wand of magic armor, would you be so kind to use it on me and Nuzzle in case we are caught in another combat?"

Temel looks pleased: probably a lot more careful than in other places. If the ruse is to be looking for a way station, you should be very interested in how they treat their horses, if there is sufficient bedding and whether the food is any good. Be courteous at all times, but don't be afraid to negotiate.

The abacus continues its voyage along the glass river. The river narrows ahead, flowing around a central isle thick with trees and vegetation. The northern fork of the river runs beneath a canopy formed by the isle’s overhanging trees and riverside foliage while to the south, the river is open to the sky above. As the boat approaches the island, a dragon-like creature emerges from the water below.

"Ha! Haaaa, it's good you told me to move, lad!" he shouts to Radnor. "Just for that, I'll try to slash in its skull for you!"

He takes another step alongside the port railing to keep pace with the brute, and hums happily to himself as he brings the axe down a second time in an arc of steel.

5-foot step right, then...
Axe vs beast: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
Damage: 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11

His aim seems truer this time, and his strike harder.

The arc of steel that Dorn brings down connects with the creature's head, and sends it down crashing into the water below. It's lifeless, limp body floats in the water.

The mucus bites as Radnor struggles against it, but he finally manages to step clear of the mess. Garret, meanwhile, has less trouble avoiding the goop.

Radnor, damage: 1d4 ⇒ 4
Radnor, refl: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20
Garret, refl: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17

As the battle subsides, Temel and the dwarves emerge form belowdecks.

Bravo, bravo, very well done! Temel cheers, in what clearly is a prelude to more serious discussions: The Pathfinder Society continues to amaze me, and it seems to me increasingly prudent to enter into a business arrangement that would certainly be to our mutual benefit—particularly for those with an eye for spotting profit. Let me make my case simply: my trade network is growing and already blankets the Inner Sea like no other, and the dwarves cannot hope to compete with the prices I offer. Let us not forget that the Pathfinders have had many mutually profitable business dealings with me in the past.

He even goes so far as to candidly hand Radnor a potion of cure moderate wounds, with a here, as a token of good faith.

Metella frowns at the overt and obvious move Temel makes, and hastens to make her own offer:

Yes, Temel has his bejeweled fingers in many pies and can offer cheaper wares, but consider the advantages of a business relationship with my mercantile concern: our network is many centuries old, and the quality of our goods is unrivaled. Furthermore, an arrangement with a firm with such deep roots in the Five Kings Mountains would reinforce the military alliance the Society is already negotiating.

She tries to get the favour of Dorn, by handing him a potion of bear's endurance.

If Radnor takes 4 more damage it downs him, or did the reflex avoid it?

Other than that, you may roll a perception check on the situation with the defeated monster (a River Drake, if you want to know)

The four damage take place before the reflex save (it's the damage caused by failing the previous save)

All is well with the River Drake defeated. Or is it, as a scream from Radnor the pain, the pain is followed by the collapse of the Summoner.

At -2, if I counted correctly. What is it with you, reptiles and passing out after the battle's been won? :p

Nuzzle vanishes as Radnor falls unconscious.

Dorn blinks as he catches the fall of Radnor's body from the corner of his eye.

".....ah, come on, kid, you've gotta be tougher'n that to be a knight!" he says, bending over the young man's prone body. He nudges him with a toe. Then shrugs.

"Oi, better do somethin', priest!"

And then Dorn looks back over the edge of the railing at the body of the beast he'd just killed. Caring is really not his strong suit.

Caring is really not Dorns strong suit. Gemstones are, perhaps? A small hole in the bank of the river, probably the creature's nest, shows a glimpse of some gold nuggets and a couple of uncut garnets.

"Ha, hardly a challenge at all, so dull I fell asleep," Radnor croaks, as he opens his eyes and manages a sickly grin. Pushing himself up he begins the process of summoning Nuzzle again slapping his hand against nothing again to shatter it and open the bizarre colourful rift that the eidolon emerges from.
