Kyra tries to hit her tiny opponent but it's far to quick and it avoids her slash.
The tiny creature ignores Seelah's attempt to stop hostilities:"Give me the lantern and I'll stop!" it shouts as it attacks Kyra again.

GM, this thing is tiny isn't it? Shouldn't she be provoking every time she tries to stab me?
"It is obvious she does not care about the animal." Kyra says, as everyone seems to ignore the fact the tiny creature is trying to stab her. "Her goal seems to be theft."
"And if you really cared, you would have let it run!" She adds, irritably to Zadim. "So a little help here."
Again, she slashes out with her scimitar at the persistent little creature, trying to move away from it.

With an askance look at Zadim, Seelah turns to Valeros, Your mercy does you credit.
It seems as though this creature does not easily threaten us. Should we depart? I fear this battle has begun due to a misunderstanding of our purpose.

Kyra, Flame of the Dawnflower |

Heh, didn't realize I'd mucked up the code on the attack! Thanks.
The two previous AoO's from attacks

Both misses I'd guess, since the 16 earlier missed! So all is well!

Kyra nods at Seelah's words. "Yes, let's go." She agrees, moving slowly across the stream, now that the creature has moved away.

Valeros nods to Seelah. "The elk never attacked, it was obviously just a mount; it didn't deserve to die."
Turning to Kyra, he says, "Had you been in real danger, I would have came to your aid...seems to me you would've been more likely to die from a paper cut than that 'needle' the fairy was wielding...
Yes, I agree Seelah, 'tis time for us to leave this place..."

Valeros stops the elk from bleeding. Kyra wounds her diminutive opponent again and she disappears for good. Perhaps she's still out there hiding in the fog, but you hear nothing more from her and after a while you feel sure she fled the scene.
Chapter 2 over. You've got the lantern and you can keep it with you until you meet Ulisha

Handouts updated
Ulisha's next quest brings you to the small town of Allenstead, near Razmiran's border, where she asked you to retrieve some sort of magical wand from a priest of Razmir.
Allenstead consists of a few dozen buildings built along either side of a solitary dirt road that leads from Razmiran to a ferry dock on the West Sellen River. At the center of the village, construction is nearly complete on a large stone statue of a Razmiri priest that stands nearly 20 feet in height. The head of the statue peers down at a stage.
Before moving into Allenstead you try to gather information about your new destination and Razmir's cult...

Zadim appears pensive as they near Razmiran. He adds nothing to the sentiments already expressed by Kyra and Valeros.

“Folloch has entrusted us with a sacred task. We must erect a magnificent monument worthy of Razmir’s greatness.” one man wearing a peasant's plain clothes answers Kyra's question

![]() |

Valeros muses, Strange...these folk are not known as being reverent to Razmir...and now they have the look and speech of fanatics...
He speaks up to the peasant. "Who is this Folloch?"

Blake's Iconic |

"I thought Allenstead did not believe in Razimir's false divinity," Zadim says to the peasant, mostly submerging his own derision for the sake of politeness. "What led to the conversion?"

![]() |

Valeros and Zadim's words don't seem able to shake the man out of his revery:"True, good lords... very true indeed! Fortunately we were visited by Folloch, priest of the great Razmir. He has given our lives meaning and shown us the joys of servitude and obedience". he says, managing to sound half asleep and fanatical at the same time. The man then turns towards Kyra, a line of worry crossing his temple:"You think so my lady? Maybe we should have built it higher... a statue worthy of Razmir's greatness!"

Kyra, Flame of the Dawnflower |

Kyra sighs, as her attempt at levity gets taken far too seriously.
"So where might we find this enlightened priest of yours? Folloch was it?" She asks.
After, she will find a quiet corner, and say a quick prayer to cast a spell. Then take a few moments to study the locals nearby for magical auras that might explain their behavior.
Casting detect magic... though she has no knowledge (arcana) or spellcraft, so won't learn much if there is something there... other then the fact it is there =)

![]() |

For a moment the man looks confused:“I do not know where he is now, but he will be here at noon, as he always is. Folloch never misses his daily sermon.”
Nothing magical about these people. Doesn't mean magic couldn't have been used to brainwash them though

Cwethan's Iconic |

Seelah pulls her comrades aside, Though it seems quite likely that this Folloch does not act in good faith to these people's well being, if they are brainwashed this could be a very dangerous place to confront him. Patience may spare many lives this day, likely our own included.

Blake's Iconic |

"I worry that whatever he uses to control these people may affect us," Zadim says to Seelah. "Nothing to be done for that, I suppose. We should look around this little village to see how the folk are faring under their new tyranny."

![]() |

@Valeros: yes, but if you want we may skip forward. There's nothing much to explore here anyway and getting information out of the brainwashed citizen of Allenstead isn't going to work

![]() |

You spend the night camping into the woods encircling Allenstead, keeping an eye open for sightings of Folloch but if he's in town he doesn't show himself. You don't have much to wait though. Next day, as noon approaches, the townspeople stop their various activities and form a crowd at the base of the stage. At noon, Folloch exits from a house and makes his way to the stage, backed by 2 guards. Seeing you into the crowd he exclaims:[]“Ah! My dearest children, it appears some stray lambs have wandered into our flock! Surely Razmir can uncloud the minds of these wayward souls.”[/b] so saying he waves some sort of rod vigorously in the air pointing it in your direction. At first he seems pleased, as he expects something to happen but after a few seconds realization that his ploy didn't work slowly spreads across his face, and Folloch stammers:"Betrayal! Betrayal most foul! These are assassins sent here to defy the great Razmir! My flock defend me!!!" he shouts as he and his guards hastily flee the scene. The peasants, still enthralled react the only way they can: trying to stop you to pursue their master.
The crowd tries to grab you making sure you can catch Folloch. You need to roll a skill or use a spell in order to escape them and be able to freely go after the razmiran. Skills like acrobatics to avoid getting grabbed or bluff to mislead the crowd work, but feel free to make the case for other types of skill as long as you can reasonably justify its use. You have 3 rounds to gain 8 successes. A bonus for creative and effective skill uses is aslo possible. Appropriate spell use awards you 1 automatic success for each spell

Kyra, Flame of the Dawnflower |

Kyra only has 3 trained skills! Though I suppose also a +3 on wis-based ones... hmmm
Zadim is right, variety is the way to go!
Kyra sighs, when it becomes apparent they will have to stick around until the next day. "Cemetery all over again." She mutters.
Still, come the next day, as noon approaches, she is actually looking forward to whatever dog and pony show this Folloch is about to display, curious what his whole spiel will be.
She is not expecting the sudden reversal, as he calls down the crowd to waylay them all!
"Woah, woah!" She says hurriedly, as some of the villagers close on her. "I am no assassin sent to harm anyone!"
She does her best to talk down the crowd in front of her, so she can get past unhindered.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
But that just leads her to the next batch of villagers, eager to do Folloch's bidding. This time she tries a different tack, instead stoking their religious fervor with a few choice phrases to give the idea she too is one of Razmir's faithful, and not the assassin they're looking for.
Knowledge (religion): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15
Still, the crowd presses as she tries to get clear of it.
Hmm... heal I'm not sure on... so will try a wis skill
She looks around, trying to spot an opening she can dart through, before they completely close her in!

D10 nonwithstanding (I hadn't noticed as well) you managed brilliantly
Despite the crowd numbers the villagers' zombie-like cohordination is no match for the Pathfinder's guile and expertise. In a matter of minutes Valeros, Seelah, Kyra and Zadim manage to bypass the confused townsfolk and catch Folloch before he can flee the village.
They find him near Allenstead's stables with one lone guard helping him hastily fill a carriage with chests and luggage. As you approach, he levels the scepter in your direction one more time and curses as it fails do do whatever he was expecting it to. Then the Razmiran shouts an order to his guard:"My, good, loyal childe... get rid of these heaten assassins for me, do it for our master and lord, blessed Razmir!!!" hearing this the guard nods and drones towards you...

This is rather straightforward: they are inside charging distance (8 squares) and they want to fight. The guard is moving towards you while folloch stays back, probably trying to cast something. Unless you insist I'm not going to set up a map for this battle

Kyra, Flame of the Dawnflower |

"Worship is a matter of faith, not mind control, wretch!" Kyra calls, unhappy about what the man has done to the townsfolk.
"Let us show you true faith!" She openly intones a prayer to Sarenrae, calling down the Dawnflowers blessing on all of her companions.
