Lilia Sori |
"Can't go spilling my secrets, now can I?" Lilia replies to Darius, showing him a mischievous grin.
Lilia points at the narrow crack in the wall next to her. "I'll squeeze through here quickly to see if it's empty beyond. I'll be right back."
Escape Artist: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25
Stealth: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28
With great stealth Lilia slips through the crack and into the room beyond, which she inspects.
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15 +1 vs traps & +1 to avoid being surprised by foes
Lynn Kuro |
Lynn moved up further into the single file hallway pulling her wand free and having it at the ready. "Remember we shouldn't try to start a conflict with them if we can avoid it, at least try to talk first. If we do happen upon some kobolds that is."
Lynn would place a hand against Gunther's back reassuring him with her presence. "I've got you big guy."
GM Carla |
Maanyatha does notice that the door on the other side seem to bulge with weight pressed against it, implying that opening it could be dangerous.
Also, the pile of rocks in the corner seem to be stacked too orderly for natural fashion.
All the way south in the hallway, a lowered portcullis blocks off the room from the hallway to the north. The portcullis is old and rusty. At the south end of the hallway, there is a grotesque dragon face carved in the stone wall. In its gaping maw it has two dozen round holes where its teeth should be. Underneath it, stone tablets that once used to be pressure plates make for an uneven floor surface.
Perception checks, please
Darius Marel |
Darius grins back at Lillia and watches her slip through the narrow crack in the wall with obvious admiration and perhaps a bit of envy.
He joins the team looking around the room.
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13 15 if a trap
He tenses as Gunther appears to notice something...
GM Carla |
Gunther hears mutters of draconic further down the hallway. A kobold is peeking around the corner of the hallway behind the portcullis, but Gunther is too late to realise that it's holding a bow, ending up with an arrow in his knee for 1d6 ⇒ 5 damage.

Gunther Tamiir-Quah |
"Trouble. Looked like a small dragon. Maybe a kobold or lizard man. Hard to tell." as he attempts to point the others in the right direction.
Grabbing his spear to hold defensively, Gunther moves in closer, hoping both to shed more light on the situation and see if there is any possibility of talking things out.
Finding it unlikely that the creature would speak either his native Shoanti or the heavenly Celestial languages, he speaks in simply Taldan, "We are not here to fight."
Surprize Round Move action to move forward, drawing my longspear as part of the move in case I didn't have it out prior.
Lilia Sori |
Escape Artist: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13
Lilia moves back to the crack and tries to move back through it, but in her haste she hits her head. "Ouch!"
Escape Artist: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24
She succeeds on her second try and moves up behind her allies.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
"We come in peace!" Lilia calls out from the back. "Please, let us explain why we've come here! It's to find a lost friend!"
GM Carla |
"Try and catch us if you can, filthy warmbloods!"
He fires another bolt at Gunther but misses, but then a second Kobold appears opposite the first and does hit Gunther in the abdomen for 1d6 ⇒ 1 damage.
"Yeah, tries and catch us and you DEAD!"
The second one chimes in.

diplomacy: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25
in Draconic
"Please stand down, we are on specific orders to not fight with the local kobolds anymore. We are just here to locate and return Captain Sharrowsmith. Once we are assured of his safety we will leave. We may even be able to create a peace between the humans who have set up in the nearby area to halt their attacks on you and your people."
Lynn was really pushing towards diplomacy despite knowing Gunther had to be hurting already. "Please we will sheath our weapons if you do the same."
Lynn Kuro |
If we are temporarily out of combat. Continuing on in Draconic
"May I come out after I put my weapon down? So that we may speak face to face?"
Lynn Kuro |
Haha I forgot to update my icon on the thingy was supposed to stick to gunther like glue..Lynn would nod at the others and take a second to hand her weapon to Sharimus, "I'll be okay, just trust me."
She would then try to step past everyone, (in draconic)"Alright I am coming forward, The others will stay back so that we may talk. I am unarmed."
Gunther Tamiir-Quah |
"Indeed. As I said, "We DON'T want to fight." lowering his spear. "We are not thugs or robbers, and only seek to locate a missing ally. You attacked us."
I presume they can speak common (Taldan) as well as Draconic as they seemed to taunt us earlier.
Darius Marel |
Darius eyes Lynn skeptically. How could she be so trusting as to move forward alone and unarmed? But when the others, who seem to know her better, agree with her choice Darius shrugs to himself.
He keeps his hands well away from his sword hilts, and waits to see what comes next.
Lilia Sori |
Lilia takes a moment to put all of her weapons inside her handy haversack, then follows after Lynn.
While walking Lilia tries to keep her eyes open for traps.
Perception: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 4 + 1 = 11
Lynn Kuro |
Lynn looks back and smiles at the others, "Alright I'm coming forward now." She starts forward putting her faith in the diminutive lizard men. She knows well enough not to make all belifs about one based on their race. And she moves closer to the dragon visage at the end of the tunnel. Rounding the corner with her hand on the wall watching to place her steps carefully.
perc: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
Feelin real scurred putting myself on a Crossed out circle but man do i have to try and stay in character here XD
Carla the Profane |
Keep in mind there is still a closed portcullis at the end of the hallway!
Lynn peers past the iron bars of the portcullis and just manages to see the large double doors of the next room close behind the kobolds. Next to the door is a leather sack hanging from the wall, and a small barrel filled with crossbow bolts.
Darius Marel |
Darius turns his head backward and gives a quick wink to his companions.
He moves towards the end of the hall and finds a door on the right side. He checks it for traps and if it looks safe he'll try to open it.
Perception: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 7 + 2 = 11
Gunther Tamiir-Quah |
I'll step forward, following them into the area beyond, if one of the two door near us leads there.
Lynn Kuro |
Lynn would follow behind Darius placing her wand on Gunther's skin.
clw: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 clw2: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Lynn then spoke rather low to the group, "They went into the other room, I would still like to try and remain diplomatic about the situation. I can protect myself for a bit without my weapon if they get hostile."
Darius Marel |
I wanted to search these side rooms for a way around or a release of some kind.

Gunther Tamiir-Quah |
My plan was to try to open the doors on the lower left and right of the hallway and see if I can get through that way. I do not have any means to disarm traps, so was just wanting to walk through.
Lilia Sori |
Lilia moves up to the front and nods at the southwest door. "Gunter, can you smash that in?"
Once Gunter done the smashing in, Lilia follows him into the southwest room and takes a look around.
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19 +1 for traps +1 to avoid being surprised by foes
Gunther Tamiir-Quah |
"That wouldn't be very... diplomatic. From what I know of these little bastards, they like to make their den's very secure. Let's try the latch, first."
If the door(s) simply open, or need a little bit of a push I'll do that. Otherwise, screw it. They don't like it, we eat Kobold Stakes tonight as we are getting through.
GM Carla |
As you manage to open the side doors with a bit of pushing together, they reveal more empty rooms. In the room to the west, however, you notice a nasty trap in the floor ment to snare someone's leg.
You push on to the south, into the chamber with the teethless dragon's head. You hear faint stumbling on the other side of the double doors.
Lynn Kuro |
Lynn squeezed alongside Gunther, "Alright let's hope they are still in a mood for diplomacy."
She cleared her throat, waiting for the others to pool into the new room before she proceeded. She would then open the door speaking in draconic as she moved, "Please if you would stop running from us we would be able to discuss matters much easier."
Gunther Tamiir-Quah |
Didn't they tell us to follow them? That's what I'm trying to do. Also, I do want to take a moment to look in the satchel we found, or at the very east pick it up as we go. I'm assuming it was in one of the rooms we hadn't actually reached yet, but visible.
