After Gunther makes it back to the group and his blindfold is off, Darius claps the warrior on the shoulder.
"Thanks. I've heard what basilisks can do. You really bailed us out."
He enters the next area with the others and has a look around. He covers his face with his hand, but doesn't seem quite as bothered by the odor as Lynn.

"I don't know how much blood would be required?" Lilia asks Lynn while removing her own blindfold and opening her eyes.
Lilia nods when Lynn suggests taking the woman back to camp. "Maybe we can ask someone in the Society to heal her?"

Lynn looked to Gunther "Thanks for taking the frontline on that one big guy. We owe you one for sure. We really should be careful moving forward." She tied the blindfold to her wrist. "It looks like we can split up into groups of two to cover more ground... though that may be risky."

After Gunther makes it back to the group and his blindfold is off, Darius claps the warrior on the shoulder.
"Thanks. I've heard what basilisks can do. You really bailed us out."
"You are welcome, my friend. This is what it means to be a team, and it had to be done. But, . . . what exactly can a basilisks do?"
Lynn Kuro
|
"If my studies and legends are true, they can petrify one with their gaze alone. It is said that they eat their victims only once they are turned to stone. They are also the only cure for the ailment beyond powerful magic i believe If one is coated in the blood of a freshly killed beast then they may be returned to life."
The woman looked at the petrified victim down the hall and frowned.
Lilia Sori
|
"I'd say a random human's life has priority over a random basilisk's, but shall we move on if no one wants to harm the basilisk?"
Lilia moves past the petrified woman and stops next to the first door she comes across. "Let's see what's beyond?"
If the others agree to the latter, Lilia will open the door.
Lynn Kuro

"I would like to search for options beyond killing a creature that has done nothing outside of it's nature if we can." Lynn placed a gentle hand on the statue feeling a bit mournful. "We might even be able to find someone that can provide fresh blood or maybe cure it with magic?" Lynn removed her hand and looked around the corner alongside Lilia.

Sharimus looks through the weapons for anything servicable.
Looks like the last residents enjoyed their games... he says as he points to the dice. He looks about the room as he wanders.

Darius moves to stay near the party.
"You're right Lynn. I'd rather not have to slay the creature if another way can be found to save these people. But if we can't perhaps... well, let's keep our options open for now."
He speaks to Lilia and Sharimus:
"What do you make of that? Three beds, recently used. Could there be a connection to our missing allies?"
Sharimus Dallanos
|
Well, this is likely a start.. Sharimus says as he holds out Sharrowsmith's sword. We should make haste...the sooner we find him, the better. Let's head down the hallway a bit further down...
Lynn Kuro
|
Lynn looks at the sword that Sharimus holds aloft for a bit, "Sharimus.. one moment." She holds her hands aloft for a moment whispering a short incantation to see if the weapon is magical. She waves her hands over the blade for a moment slowly back and forth. "Best to see if there is anything that can help us before we proceed."

Detect magic, pft of course i'd roll bad well at least it'll tell us if it is magical.
Lynn Kuro
|
"Maybe, it's magic i just.. it's not an enchantment i'm familiar with." she rubbed the back of her head feeling silly about the situation and cursing herself for not brushing up on her copy of 'Whimsical Weapons'.
"We should move further into the ruins though afterwards if this is indeed sir Sharrowsmith's blade then I fear for his safety."
Lilia Sori
|
Unless anyone's going to use the longsword, Lilia takes it and puts it in her handy haversack. She takes her own swords out of her haversack again and attaches them to her belt.
"Alrighty then!" Lilia moves up to another closed door down the hallway, waits for the others to join her, and opens the door.

Darius does his best to keep up with the group. He doesn't want to disappoint this group, and is perhaps a bit overager as he nearly crashes into Sharimus, only catching himself via his natural agility.
Lynn Kuro

Lynn points down the hallway next to the door they entered, "Gunther, Maanyatha, and I should go down that path and try to cover more ground. Be safe." She starts down the hallway cautiously.

At the center of a large fountain, a white marble statue of a dwarf in scholarly robes faces east in a defiant posture. In one hand, the dwarf holds a staff, and in the other an open book. While most of the statue’s elaborate details are still intact, its face has crumbled away, and water pours down from two holes where the statue’s eyes had once been.
Linguistics to take a look at the writing in the book
As you enter the room to the west, The smell of incense is almost overpowering in this house, where shelves full of jars and vases of different sizes line the walls. Three kobolds lie motionless in stone beds.

To the southwest, the corridor has caved in, completely blocking the passage.

Lynn moved up to Lilia, "What's it say? Ciphers aren't really my cup of tea sadly." She scratched at her neck, "Anything in that other room? We should probably check these last ones quickly before moving on."
Lilia Sori
|
"Home is far behind, our kin scattered to the four winds, but we endure."
Lilia shrugs. "This place was probably once owned by dwarven, but obviously not anymore. I don't think it's really relevant."
"The room held dead kobolds and a funny smell. No idea why, but I agree we should check the other rooms here out."
Lilia moves over to the next unopened door, where she waits for everyone to join her before she opens it.
Lynn Kuro

Lynn moved over to Lilia, "Dead kobolds? Some kind of grave maybe? hmm.. Who knows right behind you Lilia." Lynn moved behind the rogue and placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder while waving the others over to them.

Lynn moves in to start examining the stone pillar and the surrounding area to see if it holds any importance in the structure of the ruins. Taking a few delicate touches at the engraved runes, she and the others would have to rely on Lilia's cyphering skills for these. "Wonder if these have anything to do with the guardian."

The lanky rogue has been quiet for a long time. He looks the column over, then turns to the group and shrugs with a half-hearted smirk.
Not much use in these situations. Hopefully we can figure it out.
GM Carla

Sorry for the delay guys, didn't mean to make you wait.
Lynn realises that this room was once an infirmary, while Lilia takes a look at the pillar and deduces that the names and numbers written there must be dates in a calendar different from the Absalom Reckoning. Halfway through the list, the dates become shorter and shorter; the column lists the dates of death.
Maanyatha sees nothing of interest here.
I assume you check out the last room?
Lilia Sori

Yes! :)
Lilia moves over to the last unopened door, waits for the others to join her, and opens it.
