As Lynn slowly opens the door it creaks for a bit with suddenly a hissing sound the likes of a large crocodile emerges from the other side, and Gunther stops her. In the bag are seven kobold-sized blindfolds.

Lynn looks at Gunther who stopped her, "Alright starting to feel like they aren't exactly being true to their end of the bargain with the noises coming from in here.." she eyed the bag and tried to put two and two together.

Seeing the crocodile emerge the nagaji will attempt to figure out what is happening based on the body language.

The door is still closed!
As Lynn is still puzzled by the pieces of information presented in front of her, Maanyatha confidently asserts that judging by the pitch of the sounds coming from the other side of the door, that this must be a young crocodile, harmless if fed well.
Then it clicks with Lynn. The blindfolds, the reptile sounds, the traps, Maanyatha's assertion... this must be a Basilisk, and a young one at that!
Gaze (Ex)Turn to stone permanently (as flesh to stone), range 30 feet, Fortitude DC 13 negates. A creature petrified in this matter that is then coated (not just splashed) with fresh basilisk blood (taken from a basilisk no more than 1 hour dead) is instantly restored to flesh. A single basilisk contains enough blood to coat 1d3 Medium creatures in this manner. The save DC is Constitution-based.

"Wait blindfolds.. what creature...." Lynn's fingers snapped together below her chin. "I think we're dealing with a Basilisk. A dangerous magical reptile, whos gaze can petrify the living. That would explain the blindfolds, the kobolds are keeping it here as a weapon. So long as it's being kept full we shouldn't have any issues if we aren't threatening. However since they didn't warn us about this I don't believe they are being so kind, or perhaps in thier fear of us they may have ran ahead and gotten stoned themselves."
She grabs two of the cloth blindfolds and ties them together. "Everyone take one, we shouldn't try to push our luck, avert your gaze if you don't want to wear a blindfold. My books say that some fortuitous adventurers may be able to simply resist the magic of the beast but.. I really don't want you guys taking any chances." It then occurs to her that they may be able to try something else. "Heh.. or crazy idea we can try to cover it's eyes. She snerked at the idea knowing it was absolutely crazy.
"Regardless, not trying to take the lead here but how do you think we should proceed if our draconic companions have indeed abandoned or otherwise betrayed us?"
Sharimus Dallanas

As much as I dislike wearing a blindfold, I dislike being turned to stone even more. I think we should proceed, but with extreme caution. Sharimus says as he sighs and starts putting on a blindfold.
Darius Marel
|
As Lynn describes the creature, the color slowly drains from Darius' face.
He will also tear off part of his shirt to use as a blindfold.
There is no false bravado in his voice when he speaks.
"My thanks, Lynn for your extensive knowledge. I've caught too many diseases on my adventures to rely on my own fortitude to keep me safe."

At first Lilia figures she'll just keeps her eyes closed. She then figures she'll just cut off a strip of cloth from her cloak and use that as a blindfold.
"Okay, ready to proceed," Lilia says when her blindfold's in place. Just to be double safe she also closes her eyes.

Lynn looked to Gunther holding the tied kobold blindfold in her hands, "Gunther are you sure? You've already risked quite a bit for us." If he was persistent she would reluctantly put on the blindfold and grasp for his hand, "Let's hope that this really isn't a trap."
Gunther Tamiir-Quah

"Someone must do it, and I supposse I have the best chance of resisting this Basilisk, if there is one. Hopefully the wee dragon-lizards will not simply having roam about. Well, lets get going."
Gunther Tamiir-Quah

Gunther has a light source and is not blindfolded. Will absolutely be attempting to avert his gaze, but I'm not sure what I see, so I can't really say where I will attempt to lead the party. My intent is to try to see any open rooms or follow the Kobolds, closing my eyes once I have a general sense of direction and the lay of the land, and move towards it, opening and closing eyes periodically as needed.

Lynn held onto Gunther's hand, "Gu..gunther? You're still okay right?"
Lilia Sori

"Gunther, please say something!" Lilia exclaims, slightly panicked.

Closing my eyes, for now, I'll reach into my magic little bag and pull out a few magic little beans of amazingness, holding out my hand to offer them to whatever is nibbling at our boots.
"It is ok. I need to try something, and then we shall, hopefully, move on."
Dropping down with one knee, I'll place whoever's hand is holding mine on my backpack, and start speaking off to something in front of us similarly to how one might talk to a friendly dog. "Here, you go." taking one of the coffee beans and slowly putting it in my mouth to show it's ok.
If whatever it is begins to eat from my hand, I'll attempt to move my other hand slowly over to pet it's head/scratch behind it's ear, etc. . .

Calling back over his shoulder "Anyone have any food?"
Lynn Kuro

yeah that would be bad.. hmm smells kinda like rocks feels a little squishy but.. yeah.. ya know we er gunther since he's the only one aware could possibly break a bit of the stone-bold(kobold) and feed it to it. Also would Lynn or Maanyatha know their diet with those rolls earlier?
"Gunther... are you trying to feed the basalisk food?" She gulped a little.

Ill open the door behind us and try to lead it outside, before shutting the door again. With my eyes closed, Ill pull out my Flint and Steal as well, and try to lead it out.

The last room that had the portcullis from the last map. Sorry, I'm just getting off work, and so much still to do. Hopefully, after tomorrow, I should be able to post much more frequently and add some more RP and description in.

Once Gunther leads the Basalisk away Lynn would wait for the all clear before removing her blindfold.

You lead the beast outside, and make sure it's entertained, then return to the room with the dragon's head. When you enter the next hallway, you see a petrified kobold in the hallway, and a door that opens into what seems like a reptile nest the size of a dwarven storage room. The reek of dung and sweat permeates the place.
Heaped in a corner, there is a pile of cement pellets, and in another corner lies a grotesque, stuffed leather bag with two oval patches sewn on it.
Further down the hallway, a granite statue of a human woman stands in a running pose. The head of the statue is turned to look over her shoulder, her face locked in a silent scream. Twenty feet up ahead there is a wooden door in the surface of the wall.

Lynn removes her blindfold when the all clear is given, peeking into the 'nesting' area which smells terrible her face wrinkles in disgust but she keeps herself from gagging or heaving. "Worse than a batch of spoiled fish." Her hand touches the petrified woman gently careful not to break anything off before she looks to the rest of the group. "I don't wish to kill a creature if we mustn't. Do any of you think we might be able to find someone to sell us fresh blood, or maybe we could safely harvest some from the basilisk? I mean... considering it didn't attack us I feel kind of bad doing that."
She looked quite perplexed by the situation caught between killing what sounded like a young mostly innocent creature to save this hapless adventurer, or letting the creature live to find another solution. "No... we'll have to take this person back to the camp, i'm sure there is a wizard or a cleric that can help us." She planted her fist in her open palm solidifying her plan for the statue. "We'll just have to be careful not to break anything."
Also, who has the relic i don't think we ever decided that.
