I'm praying that it doesn't come to this, BUT Mercutio's Dhampir Boon just happened to come with an extra perk: "Death Walker," which provides a free raise dead provided it's used before he reaches 20 Fame, so I DO have that if it comes to that.
I REALLY hope there's a better way out of this, though - this is TOO soon before 20 Fame. :S

For the 1st week, assuming it won't take that long.
Brayden:
Make 7 fort rolls vs DC 11.
If you fail a save, you take 1d3 str dmg & 1d3 con dmg, and are fatigued.
You need 2 consecutive saves.
Maladash, you've got 2 diseases to fight:
1st disease
7 fort rolls vs DC 11. If you fail a save, you take 1d2 con dmg.
You need 2 consecutive saves to be rid of it.
2nd disease
7 rolls vs DC 16. If you fail a save, you take 1d2 str dmg & 1 con dmg.
You need 1 save for this.
Nevisial:
7 fort rolls vs DC 11. If you fail a save, you take 1d2 con dmg.
You need 2 consecutive saves to be rid of it.
Chyrone |
1 save a/day, results Nevisial so far.
Day 1: pass
Day 2: no pass. 2 con dmg. +1 on fort rolls.
Day 3: pass.
Day 4: no pass. 1 con dmg. No change on rolls.
Day 5: pass.
Day 6: no pass. 2 con dmg. No bonus on rolls.
Day 7: no pass. 2 con dmg. -1 on fort rolls
Day 8: pass. No change on penalty.
Day 9: no pass, due to penalty on fort roll.
Con dmg: 1d2 ⇒ 1 -2 to fort rolls.
Current con score: 4
Roll for another week please. I sincerely hope you pass.
Nevisial |
I won't :p
Fort: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (2) - 2 = 0
COM damage: 1d2 ⇒ 2
Fort: 1d20 - 3 ⇒ (11) - 3 = 8
CON Damage: 1d2 ⇒ 1
Fort: 1d20 - 3 ⇒ (13) - 3 = 10
CON damage: 1d2 ⇒ 2
Chyrone |
@ Nevisial; it can still happen, even on that 1 con score.
-----------------------------
1st week result for Maladash
Day 1: pass vs #1, fail vs #2.
Ability dmg, con, str: 1 = 11d2 ⇒ 1
Day 2: pass vs # 1 (cured), pass vs #2 (cured)
2 days of illness, and Maladash is all better.
Similar to me and food poisoning.
Don't ever buy ham in Spanish supermarket.
Nevisial |
I certainly don't hold it against you Chyrone, but this has been the most ridiculous scenario I've ever played. I've noticed streakiness in other campaigns with the dice, and I'm not very confident in the dice bot anymore.

You're kidding. Spain is supposed to be the ham place (which I didn't know until I actually went there - then WHOAH, ham everywhere!). Whatever supermarket you went to is a national disgrace.

Maybe you want to alert the site? Mind you, it makes no sense from a technological perspective - but I can't deny what I saw in that last fight.
Chyrone |
I'm not kidding, i bought ham in a supermarket, because i was going to eat roasted ham sandwiches that night.
After having eaten one, and about to prepare the second, i noticed some faint green discolored patches. When i got better and returned there to, in my very poor limited Spanish, point out their ham was bad, i saw another two packages on display to be sold, with the same problem.
Needless to say, i was sick for 2 days...after which i ate for what i missed. My coworker asked me if i was human..... :)

I share Nevisial's frustrations, the dice roller ruined this experience for me. Hopefully, it's more fair next time around...
You need me to roll Fort saves?
Fort: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
Fort: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
Fort: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Fort: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
Fort: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Fort: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
Fort: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13
Maladash, the Paladin of Chaos |
Chyrone, Brayden - guys, I'm in! Ready to fit now - the same character or another. I liked everything in this game, and the final dice rolls - well, it just happens. I saw it live when the party two rounds threw only 1 on dice. In a literal sense - "1", everybody. It just happens, and those for whom it's too much stress, maybe should play Sims Online )) P.S. Just kidding.

Heh. Caravan. Definitely Caravan.
Mercutio Menschjaeger |
Brayden: I understand you're new to Pathfinder Society (or is it just to PbP)? Everyone who plays Pathfinder Society is supposed to have The Pathfinder Society Field Guide, which, while quite dated now (unless there's been a recent reprint), still contains lots of important stuff for Organized Play - such as those Prestige Vanities.

Thanks Chyrone, I've received it.
Now, as I'm a newbie to Chronicle sheets, does this mean Brayden gets all of the items listed on it?
And as I'll have to provide players the same in a few weeks (I decided I'd try my hand at GMing), where do you get the Event Code from?
Chyrone |
Yes, all items the PCs discover/recover, they get access to for purchase.
Should they not find it, or lose it...like for example the cloak of resistance by giving it to Uori, it's marked off.
I.E. one thick black line across it ;)
When you go to 'my account', you head down to 'make changes'.
You come to your PFS menu from there.
From it, select GM/Event, at which you can click on 'create event'.
It asks you to mark a box of which mission you did (choose left box on them), description and a few other boxes like date, online etc.
When you afterwards click 'save', you are led to a page which has your description and event number.

You don't get them, but you can freely buy them regardless of your Fame score. You can buy most Society-legal things, but the upper price limit of what you can buy is limited by your Fame score (see the Pathfinder Society Field Guide). More interesting is when the Chronicle includes stuff that's normally Society-illegal, or better yet, unique.
What's happened in-game is more or less that we all sat down with the loot at the end of our adventure and agreed to sell everything and split up the proceeds, UNLESS some of us happened to say "I want that thing! I will take it as part of my share in lieu of some of the other treasure," that sort of thing (the fact that everyone in the party can have claimed the same item is swept under the rug).
Brayden Foxley |
Thanks guys. I have that guide, by the way, I just haven't read every word on it just yet. I've been more inclined to jump in and get my hands dirty.
I was a little disappointed that I had paid for it only to realize the factions aren't up-to-date. I think Paizo should release an updated one is all.
Mercutio Menschjaeger |
Bear in mind that several of those old factions are still relevant with regards to the Prestige Awards that book offers. You can probably figure out what led to what, but the correlates are as follows:
Andoran - Liberty's Edge
Cheliax - Dark Archives
Qadira - Exchange
Taldor - Sovereign Court
Osirion - Scarab Sages
Grand Lodge and Silver Crusade - still standing
Szarni, Shadow Lodge, and Lantern Lodge - Caw! Caw! Nevermore (what especially bugs me is my Illusionist no longer being eligible for some of those Lantern Lodge awards)! :(
Chyrone |
I have found it useful/convenient to have played, or still playing in some cases, with different GMs, so you know what aspects they might use that you like to do yourself.
Be that via init rolls, saves, rolling init on enemies in pairs or individually.
If you're GM'ing homebrew, you can easily make simple maps with say...a picture for ground on google/yahoo/whatever and put a table over it.
If you're going for GM'ing PFS, try finding a program that extracts images from the PDF, so the players won't see where the traps are :)
There's simple scenarios to get the hang of GM'ing, like Master of the Fallen fortress, or We Be Goblins 1.
1st steps part I too.
Mercutio Menschjaeger |
I thought I'd heard something about "First Steps" being obsoleted...?
Chyrone |
That would be part II and part III.
The 1st part is still what they call an 'evergreen', replayable for all lvl 1 characters.
I ran it...once?
It was enjoyable.... looks sideways at Asterion, playing the rude alcoholic granny, turning a party member blue skinned (and have a merchant try to sell her a white hat).
Brayden Foxley |
Since you guys all seem pretty knowledgeable about specific rules, if a core character plays a Standard game, does that then make them a Standard character?
For example, Brayden is technically core as far as I can tell, but this table was Standard. Can he now only play at Standard tables?
Chyrone |
Well, there is as of late the normal and Core campaign setting.
I don't know the details, but i 'think' the core campaigns are always reported as such in descriptions.
That might make Brayden an entry for standard.
Of course, as long as he stays core built, i suppose he could enter core games. I'm sure there must be a thread with that info somewhere.
