Lyana Zaneer |
"Kildrek!" Lyana shouts as she protectively brings her falchion down upon the zombie with the yellow polka-dotted bustier as it bends over to eat her friend's brains.
Power Attack Falchion: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23 for damage of : 2d4 + 7 ⇒ (1, 2) + 7 = 10

The yellow zombie is cut in two by Lyana.
I had you 5' step forward so you could reach it.

Aid Another Lyana attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
Deluge-Core |
Deluge will simply watch, wand of CLW at the ready. He has no useful actions to do at this point.
Volar Loken |
Volar uses the wand on Kildrek again.
CLW wand: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
He then whistles for Smiler to attack the last remaining walking corpse.
Smiler |
Smiler moves in and bites at the dead thing enthusiastically.
bite attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13 bite damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
He walked through Kildrek's square so i think he provokes an attack of opportunity.
GM Aerondor |
The zombie lashes out at Smiler as he approaches smashing the poor age badly.
AOO: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Volar pokes Kildrek again with his heal stick. The dwarf wakes up just in time to see Smilers rear end pass over the top of him. If it were not quite such a dire situation, the expression on his face might be amusing.
Smiler also needs to make an acrobatics check from moving into the greased area
Irisus summons more acid, ever hopeful.
ranged touch into melee with cover: 1d20 + 3 - 4 - 4 ⇒ (17) + 3 - 4 - 4 = 12

She narrowly avoids having her neck broken by a massive blow. This dead creature doesn't want back into the grave.
"I think we need some more crossbow fodder.." says one of the nobles, starting to back away from the battle, a worried look on his face.
"No Crossbows here. Oh look, its doing well against them. Anyone want odds on whether it takes out the monkey next?"
"3gp says the dwarf is the next to go."

I think that means he'll fall over. He's on zero from the AoO so will be bleeding after attacking. Maybe he shouldn't have moved after all..
Durgan Goldbrow Grimstone |
As Lyana goes down Durgan unleashes a flurry of blows against the zombie, scoring only a glancing blow.
Flurry 1: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Flurry 2: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21 bludgeoning damage –DR: 1d6 + 3 - 5 ⇒ (3) + 3 - 5 = 1
Lyana Zaneer |
Ah, yes! You ninja'ed me! in that case...
Feeling the crushing blow of the zombie upon her chest, Lyana's knees buckle and she drops to the floor. But as her head came to rest, she felt the surge of healing from Kildrek and she awoke. Scrambling to her feet, she hacks at the last zombie.
I believe that Kildrek and my actions were in the same round that smiler took an AOO attack from the zombie, so I should be in the clear to stand.
Power Attack with Falchion: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12 for damage of : 2d4 + 7 ⇒ (4, 2) + 7 = 13

The rat goes on the zombie's left feet and take a little bite to distact the zombie.

GM Aerondor |
@Smiler/Volar: The Acrobatics was just for the round he moved. Smiler can attack - with the channel he could even full attack and not take damage.
@Lyana: Smiler took his AOO last round, so if Lyana stands, she will attract an AOO. Let me know if you want to do that. With the aid-anothers from the Rat and last round, if you stand before attacking your result will be good enough to hit it, but not if you are on the floor. What the heck, I'm going to assume you try and stand here.
Kildrek makes everyone feel better as the redeeming grace of Sarenrae washes over them..
Durgan bashes the zombie hard enough that even it felt him. While the Rat goes to aid Lyana.
AOO vs prone: 1d20 + 4 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 + 4 = 16 <- MISS
Lyana stands, the zombie tries to take advantage of her vulnerability ... but her armour takes the blow. Her falchion lashes out, dropping the last creature. Phew.
The nobles look on ,slack jawed.
"Bravo! Well played madam!"

Kildrek will quickly heal up anyone that requires aid by way of his wand. 2 charges to Lyana, 1 for Smiler and I'll burn one on myself.

I'm out of channels too.
GM Aerondor |
No need to roll, we'll take that as everyone healed for the four charges

Lookin' like we ougtha go down there and see if there might be more of them zombies.
Can't recall if Kildrek asked already or not but he would ask to get a tap of a Mage Armor wand if possible since he did not wear armor to the show.
Volar Loken |
"That weapon of yours sure does slice up those undead Lyana. I guess it doesn't hurt that you've got Sarenrae backing you up too!" says Volar with a smile.
He then checks over Smiler to make sure he's OK.
"I'm not sure these new clothes of yours will last the evening my friend."
Deluge-Core |
As the group descends, Deluge will be popping out guidance spells on anyone near to him whenever he has a few seconds of pause.
Not much, but its what I can do for the moment.
"Any of you peacocks back there able to do anything except talk, or are all of you 'leaders'?"
He emphasizes the last word with a bit of scorn, in spite of the fact that he was just as useless in the previous combat - something that simply does not occur to him at the moment. It also occurs to him that these so-called-leaders were always behind them, and the irony makes him smile. Even fight-or-flight herd animals typically put their leaders in front, but not humans who make a mockery of the natural order of things all too often.
Durgan Goldbrow Grimstone |
"Right, lets get down there."
Lyana Zaneer |
@GM_Aerondor - Yes, I was planning on standing even if I took an AOO. Lyana would not cower on the floor while the zombies killed her friends or innocent people. She's quite courageous if not fool-hardy at this point.
Lyana thanks Kildrek, "Many blessings of Sarenrae upon you, master dwarf." After a short rest, she agrees that it is time to head downstairs.
GM Aerondor |
"I" says the 'lead' noble "Direct." his two flunkies nod their head. "And we do to."
The team descends into the basement...
This area has the look of somewhere used for storing things... and those things often never get looked at again. Large set pieces litter the musty room. It is well lit by lamps, and a big hole in the wall shows where the basement has turned from a storage area into a dig site.
NB the squares are ten feet in size!
Kildrek Autumnwind |
Ain't nothin' here. Guess we oughta make sure though. Kildrek will start looking for hiding zombies around the room.
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
GM Aerondor |
A careful search of the room shows nothing of value, or threat. The odd passage to the east is also lit with lanterns. A greasy muddy surface covers it, and walking without falling over will be difficult.
If you go into the tunnel you must make an acrobatics check, DC10 to avoid slipping over, and your movement is half. If you fail by less than 5, you can attempt a reflex DC11 to stay on your feet (but not move). You may take ten on the acrobatics check...outside of combat.
Deluge-Core |
Deluge will move into the greasy area, hanging onto boxes as he goes.
Acrobatics: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (20) - 1 = 19
Hey! This is just like sliding over the ice on the river in winter. Kind of fun actually!
Kildrek Autumnwind |
Acro: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (10) - 2 = 8
Be careful, the ground here is....
Reflex: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (9) - 2 = 7
***thump***
GM Aerondor |
It is just the tunnel that is slippery. The area with boxes is okay.
"I say, look at the Dwarf! He looks to be wanting to go mud wrestling"
"tee-hee" giggle the nobles.
Up ahead Kildrek can see the passage split in two.
Irisus Versicolor |
Volar Loken |
Volar walks slowly and carefully over the slippy area. Take 10 for 11. Not wearing armour helps Volar here!
Smiler follows right behind him, his natural balancing skills making it unnecessary for him to go as slow as he does.
acrobatics: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19
GM Aerondor |
Slowly and muddily you splash your way down the slippery tunnel.
Up ahead it looks like the tunnel has hit another proper room...
Feel free to move yourself to the revealed part of the map, there is a room up ahead with some movement in it.
Durgan Goldbrow Grimstone |
Take 10 Acrobatics: 10 + 5 = 15
Stealth: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Durgan moves carefully through the slick tunnel, though he seems to make an inordinate amount of noise while doing so.
Lyana Zaneer |
Acrobatics (Take 10): 10 + 2 = 12
Perception: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (5) - 1 = 4
Lyana looks down upon Kildrek as she passes the fallen dwarf and whispers, "Move slowly... keep your weight distributed over each foot as you walk, master dwarf."
She keeps her distance from Durgan for a moment, letting the monk sneak up for a better view. Noticing the clatter that Durgan is making as he grunts and groans to keep his balance, she changes her course of action. Perhaps, I can approach from the northern tunnel like an adder through the sand...
Stealth: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (16) - 1 = 15
GM Aerondor |
I've revealed a bit more of the map, feel free to move up to anywhere you can see that is outside the transparent red box. No need for acrobatics checks, and after a five stealth, probably no need for stealth checks either!
Kildrek Autumnwind |
Kildrek will move carefully to keep up with Lyana, moving with her as she proceeds. Kildrek will stay beside/behind her as we go.
Volar Loken |
I've moved Volar and Smiler up. I also want to mention that i'm travelling to PaizoCon UK tomorrow and won't be home again until monday afternoon. My ability to get online will be rather minimal during that time. Please feel free to bot Volar and Smiler as needed.
GM Aerondor |
We can pause, or surge ahead. Let me know when you want to go past the 'open' area and we'll move into the finale!
Durgan Goldbrow Grimstone |
I'm fine proceeding.
GM Aerondor |
Right then..
Irisus joins you at the front. Behind you there is a splash as a noble slips into the muddy water.
"My dear Byron, I do hope that was an attempt to put down your cloak for me to walk over."
In front of you in the room you see a platform with a sickly looking green rock upon it. A figure stands on the platform, his hands on the rocks and his eyes glazed with religious deal. Two other figures stand between the pathfinders and the man, one of them apparently dead.
Irisus: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21
