@Orion: Yes, you are correct there. I was just reminding you that he's not prone at all in case that would affect your actions. And interesting die roll there :P
lol. It's my secret move. (I forgot to close the phrase...)
I normally "preview" but the site is maddeningly slow today. It looked better as a jumble of numbers, anyways. >.<

Clutching a white pearl, Mylvwara tries to rechannel her spent magics to lob another ball of grease beneath Da'Tunga, slighting her movements to not get the beast's attention.
Concentration check to cast defensively: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14
However, the gorilla's constant roaring was too distracting and the elf slips a crucial word, causing the arcane conjurations to fail.
"Well, I guess I need to do this the old fashioned way...", Orion says as he gets his short sword and cane out. "Shame, I didn't want to break a sweat". Stepping up to the beast Orion attacks with his short sword. Trying to avoid Da'Tunga's grasping swings, Orion strikes nothing but air, almost embarrasingly.
Beating his chest violently, Da'Tunga takes a swing at both Varian and Orion.

The maddened primate slams both men hard, nearly cracking a rib in both warriors.
Shilyn steps over, following a wooden trinket the audience monkeys are tossing around and filches it in midair from them!
Amnur watches the Ape attack over his head with great indignity, Why the nerve of some monkeys! and glares daggers at the nearby beast. "Attack over a dwarf's head will ya!?" and steps northeast to flank with Varian and swings at one of the Apes massive arms, looking to chop it down to size. The raving beast does get chopped down to size as its blood coats the dwarf's blade. With a satisfying thud, Amnur took down Da'Tunga.
Flori, about to provide the aasimar with another bit of orcish strength, is confused that the monkeys are still hooting and howling.
Varian likewised confused does...
Sorry Varian, I for sure thought you went before Amnur (was looking at the previous initiatives), so if you'd like to have another round 2 action, feel free to change it. Just don't take into consideration what's about to happen. :P
A small monkey, no more than 1 foot tall, jumps on top of Da'Tunga and after three howls, turns into a large bush!
Flori and Mylvwara, you may make Spellcraft checks.
Shilyn: Perception check
Round 2 recap:
Mylvwara tries to cast grease defensively, fails.
Orion attacks Da'Tunga, misses.
Da'Tunga attacks Varian and Orion, dealing 6 and 5 damage respectively.
Shilyn grabs a wooden idol.
Amnur attacks Da'Tunga, the beast drops.

** spoiler omitted **
Firewood?
He looks over to shilyn after doing the thing with the tree, do we destroy that, or what do we do?

![]() |

Okay, it's been better part of a day, so moving on.
Mylvwara Spellcraft: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19
Flori Spellcraft: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
At the same time, both Flori and Mylvwara state, in a bit of confusion: "That's tree shape magic." The confusion stems from the fact that tree shape is supposed to be only used by its caster.
Orion and Varian start smashing the tree, causing some damage and engaging in some light conversation."Why are we attacking the tree?" "Firewood?" It will take much more time to cut the thing down, though.
Grabbing the idol, Shilyn immediately turns to run back to her companions. Her eyes widen a bit as she notices a tree standing where it wasn't a bit ago. "Hey! I got the hunk of wood that may be causing all the problems. Amnur, let's wrap this in your scarf since you don't need it," she yells to the others as she runs.
Orion responds with "Do we destroy that, or what do we do?", confused at to what he should be hitting at this point.
In exultant glee, the tough dwarf does a little roar/bark at the downed Da'Tunga. "Teach you to overlook a dwarf!" He puzzles over the newly formed tree until hearing Shi. Amnur turns at the urgency in her voice, but seems less excited than the half-elf, nevertheless he whips the scarf from his shoulders, and moves to Shi/wraps the wooden thing in the scarf. "This wood is causing problems? Shouldn't I just smash it?", he asks, still not understanding.
Mylvwara and Flori, curious as the strange object Shilyn thought was so important, look over the wooden relic.
Mylv Kn: Arcana: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24
Flori Kn: Arcana: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19
Both women once again shout in unison, "That's a tik taan! It's capable of such druidic magic!"
Ignored from the group at this point, the elf tied to the altar starts screaming once again."Fools! The death of this champion only slows Anghazan's grasp in this world. With my life, a hundred more champions will be brought down to crush you in the will of the glorious Demon Ape! HAHAHAHAHAHA"
Almost in reaction to the casters' outcry and the elf's rant, the tree's branches now lurch out to grapple everyone!
At this point, I'll need a Reflex save from everyone with a +2 bonus.
Also, Flori, Mylvwara, Amnur, and Shilyn may make a Perception check.
And finally, Flori and Mylvwara can make Spellcraft checks.
Round 3 recap:
Mylvwara and Flori identify the magic creating the tree from a monkey; also identify the idol that Shilyn retrieved is a wooden tik taan.
Shilyn shares the tik taan with the others, initially announcing that Amnur wrap it up before being told what it is.
Amnur makes a surprisingly simple, yet brilliant statement.
Orion and Varian pretend to be lumberjacks. And that's ok.
Crazy elf rants about doom, gloom, your deaths, etc.
Tree decides it wants to give EVERYONE a big hug (ie, Reflex saves from everyone, but at a +2 bonus).
Flori, Mylvwara, Amnur, Shilyn can make a bonus Perception check.
Flori and Mylvwara can make a bonus Spellcraft check.
Round 4 is now ready to rumble!

Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 7
Reflex: 1d20 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 1 + 2 = 10 Reflex and not CMD, correct?
Amnur realizes his idea to smash the thing was probably brilliant, and is equally surprised to see that the monkey-turned-tree was now a huge tree capable of snatching him into its grasp! "Someone smash that ugly wooden tikitan!"
He'll attack the tree or the tikitan if he can.
Attack&Damage: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 211d10 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9

![]() |

That is all sorts of correct, and bad for Amnur
To save the trouble, all who fail a DC 12 Reflex save are entangled by the tree. Also, to help out, here's the entangle condition to guide actions. To try and break from the tree, as its magically grasping you versus full head on grappling, it's only a move action to attempt a Strength or Escape Artist check to break free.

![]() |

It's unnerving, but the eyes from the wooden tik taan almost glare at Mylvwara and Flori when they annouce what it is. Furthermore, its eyes then turn panicked at Amnur's words. Finally, with the proficiency of an expert ventriloquist, the mouth barely moves at all, but when it stops, the tree then struck out with its foliage to entangle the party.

Keeping out of the reach of the tree, Shilyn places the wrapped idol on the floor. "Chop this thing in pieces Amnur!" she yells. "I think it's afraid you'll do just that."

you're right, I forgot about that - I will have to change it on my profile too... thanks for the reminder!

Alright, waited long enough, moving on since this should be it!
Keeping out of the reach of the tree, Shilyn places the wrapped idol on the floor. "Chop this thing in pieces Amnur!" she yells. "I think it's afraid you'll do just that." I'm doing this first since EVERYONE is going before the tree and since dropping something is considered a free action.
Mylvwara Reflex: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 4 + 2 = 20
Mylvwara Spellcraft: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 9 = 28
Mylvwara avoids the entangling tree; she happens to notice the effects are that of the entangle spell.
"That foul idol must be destroyed!", she shouts as she tries to lob a dart of acid at it.
Acid Dart @ Tik Taan: 1d20 + 3 - 4 ⇒ (11) + 3 - 4 = 10
Damage on hit: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
However, trying to avoid hitting the others, the dart falls short and instead melts the scarf the evil idol lay upon.
Orion Reflex: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 5 + 2 = 20
Orion also slips entanglement and moves under the brushy tree and swings his sword with all his might. "This will make great kindling!"
Short Sword @ Tik Taan: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
Damage on hit: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
However, the swing just misses the idol, cutting the melted scarf remnats.
Amnur realizes his idea to smash the thing was probably brilliant, and is equally surprised to see that the monkey-turned-tree was now a huge tree capable of snatching him into its grasp! "Someone smash that ugly wooden tikitan!" Despite the tree's resistance, Amnur gives the tik taan a mighty wallop, damaging much of it; yet it still remains in one piece.
Flori reflex: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 3 + 2 = 16
Flori follows in Mylvwara's footsteps and tries to smite the idol with her arcane magics.
Magic Missile damage @ tik taan: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
The force of the bolt is enough to split the tik taan in half! As soon as this happens, the room gets eerily quiet as both the monkeys and the raving elf go silent.
A few seconds later, the primates began to howl in confusion and start emptying the museum, leaving through windows and the open front door. The unforgiving stench of monkey poo around the exhibit hall is all that remains of the audience. Even the mist swirling in the room has disappeared without a trace.
"Ohhh... ", moans the elf, still bound in his sacrificial altar.

Varian climbs up to where the elf is and cuts his bonds, then casts a cure light wounds spell on him if he actually looks wounded.

Amnur spits on the broken wooden idol for good measure, grips his axe as he considers chopping the tree down for good measure, but chooses instead to join Varian in scoping out the elf situation. "Oy! You done babbling nonsense? If so, tell us what on Golarion happened here!"
Diplo: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (5) - 1 = 4 That's about right.

The man nearly falls onto the floor after being loosened from his potential deathbed. Upon Varian's curative magic, several light cuts on his arms and chest are healed.
"Nigel... Nigel Aldain, currently confused curator of the Blakros Museum. And I have no bloody idea what has happened here other than I have a pounding headache and a weird craving for bananas... and meat. Whatever it was, I believe I should be indebted to you and your companions for my rescue. Speaking of which..." as Nigel starts straightening himself up. ", who are you and why did you come in here?"
Edit: Darn you for catching my grammatical faux pas Amnur :P Please edit your response accordingly.

![]() |

Amnur, not following the elf's fancy talk, gets to the point, "Well, yes... as you say. We're pathfinders come here to..." Amnur trails off, trying to remember why they came exactly.
Edit: but playing on the faux pas are so much fun! :)
He snaps his fingers as the start of this adventure comes back to mind, Venture-Captain Adril Hestram said you were an old friend of his and that this place had managed to get itself cursed! So, here we are."

![]() |

Hey, I already did post in the gameplay thread! :)
Amnur looks around at the others as they are slow to recover from the recent battle, "The rest of you folks alright?" he asks with some concern.

![]() |

"Hrmph... that jarhead.", as Nigel shakes his head. "Still, I'd like to think Adril was honestly somewhat concerned with my safety, besides doing the will of infallable Decemvirate.". The elf trails off for a minute before shaking his head again. "No, no. I shouldn't let my grudge against the Society hold off on my gratitude for your timely appearance. You saved my life, and I thank you for that."

![]() |

Amnur gives a "Hrmph" of his own, but this time a little embarrassed, "Well it was complete madness in here, lucky for us Mylvi here knew something about Mwangi, or we'd all be hopping around like apes... well 'cept me of course. I was already too crazy for the mist to get me. Ha!"
The dwarf, while conversing, starts a perusal of the room, now that the danger has passed.
Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 1 Apparently, walking and talking is not in his skill-set, as he trips over Da'Tunga, smacks his head into a wall, and falls backwards at one point while trying to walk backwards and talk to Nigel.

![]() |

So, did you want this tree cut down? Orion says to the man, eyeing the tree suspiciously, and with a look of want in his eye.

![]() |

Closing his eyes for a moment with a hand outstretched, Nigel once again shakes his head. "No need; that tree isn't a permanent fixture and will turn back to normal soon."
Turning around to behind the altar, Nigel returns with an ornate, jewel encrusted spear. "This is an ancient Shoanti spear discovered by Chelish explorers during the founding of Sargava. I figure this should appease the Decemvirate dogs for any goodwill they'll want for my rescue." Nigel then digs into his pocket and tosses Orion a small sack, seeing him as the better catch between him and the dwarf who just tripped over a dead ape.
"And that's a personal thank you."

![]() |

Amnur, seeing the bag produced from his vantage point on his rump, opens his eyes wide and holds out his hands eagerly, only to see the bag tossed to Orion. Shrugging with a metallic scrape, he rumbles back to his feet and walks forward to take the ornate spear, confident in his weapons handling. He looks around at the others, to see if they're ready to go, eyes settling on Flori, "Flori, why don't you give him a personal 'you're welcome' eh? Eh?" and waggles bushy eyebrows suggestively.

![]() |

I cut down trees. I wear high heels, suspendies and a bra...
Don't worry Amnur, you'll get your cut. It might be a little shorter than the rest of ours... You know, all things being equitable and all.
To Nigel he says "Thank you, on behalf of the Society. Tell me, what else might be done here." Orion glances around to see if there is anything else that might be done or worth noticing.
Preception check: 1d20 ⇒ 8
Mostly, he is just happy to have a sack of gold, and seems distracted by that.

![]() |

Amnur huffs a moment, before turning sly, "Oh that's alright Orion, besides, it's not the size of your loot that matters, but what you do with it. Clearly it's better you take the lions share, seeing how you poor ya are about wielding it." he pats the man consolingly on the shoulder.

![]() |

Sheathing her rapier and breathing a soft sigh of relief, Shilyn looks over at the man on the altar. "Hmph. So you're Nigel. I must say, your museum leaves a bit to be desired, although the life-like displays were.. entertaining at least." she says somewhat sarcastically.
With a shrug, she continues, "I hope you don't mind, but we did a little redecorating. Totally necessary as the decor tended to clash with visitors. We won't charge you for it since we had the joy of saving a few lives along the way."
With a grin to her companions, she walks over and leans against the wall, reaching up to redo her pony tail and laughs at Amnur's comment.
