To make my life easier, if you could each put in a single post with:
1: Character name
2: Your name (as you want it to appear on the chronicle sheet)
3: Your faction (note we had may as well use the new faction names for season 6)
4: PFS # for the character
5: Day job roll (or indication you don't have one)
6: starting XP, starting PP, starting Fame, Starting wealth, and what chronicle # this will be for the character.
7: What scenarios has the character completed? (or been credited with)
Try to hold off actual discussion here until we have one post per character with those details (makes life easy for me to make the chronicles for you all at the end).
Can you also please make sure your characters AC, HP and initiative show up in the bar below your name (edit the "level" section of the paizo character form).

Thanks all. Nicely done. Now we just have to wait two weeks.
I'll probably open the gamethread a day early just to remind everyone that it is starting, or if you like, I can create it now and you can all have freeform RP to get to know each others strengths and abilities?

Quick update - the PDF has arrived!
BTW I'm in New Zealand, so November the first starts slightly earlier for me! It is also worth noting that I'm travelling for a week in about the third week of November, so my posting rate may decline then.

![]() |

Sure.
Please note this is a very low combat module, skills and subtly are what is required not big hefty swordarms.

![]() |

Well, it's been making odd noises for quite some time. I've had it for over 6 years so I got my moneys worth out of it. I was planning on replacing it with my bonus this winter anyway. Just have to replace it a bit sooner.

Does it count if I cracked the code outside of the game (At least I think I did, there appears to be a typo in the cipher?)
HASTHEBELLOFOBECIENCE (probably should be Obedience)
Honestly, probably the only reason I figured out what this was is that I am playing Devil We Know part 4 on a different character, (Kath himself played parts 1-3). So the Bell of Obedience is quite fresh in my memory. If I am right, it's kind of nice how the senarios play off each other like this, what four seasons later?
The typo made it more difficult then it should have been :(

![]() |

Heh - that's awesome, Kath. This is Holman (who, incidentally, played the first three Devil We Know scenarios with Kath, and just finished the fourth before GD3).

![]() |

Well.. you still have to IC find the right cypher for Kath to work this out.
And that means finding a book with the correct cypher.

Malaika de'Morcaine wrote:What code and cipher are you talking about?SUPER SECRET GRAND LODGE FACTION STUFF YOU DON'T NEED TO KNOW!
(kidding)
Ah, ok I thought you were talking about the divots he had just described on the wall.

Looking for books
Time
You can look for books in any room in the library. Searching a room for relevant books takes time. There are (for simplicity) three sizes of rooms, small, medium and large. (the big library that Eissen went into is Large). They take different amounts of person-minutes to search.
Large - 120 minutes
Medium - 60 minutes
Small - 30 minutes
There are six of you, so if you all work together, you would get through that large room in twenty minutes.
Skills
The search itself is a skill check. The following skills can always be used. In some rooms there may be additional skills. You should pick which ever skill your character is best at when they are helping to search a room. Mechanically I take the best roll, and anyone else who hits the DC (14) gets to aid-another (+2) the best check.
The skills you can always use are:
Linguistics, Knowledge(history), a text based craft or profession check (e.g. profession(librarian)). I will also allow a perception check (at -5).
It would be helpful to let me know your best skill (in general) so if you can't post I can do your check for you, or even mass-roll for everyone (like in the initiative block). If you have specific magic or class abilities that you think would be helpful, let me know and I'll provide a circumstantial bonus based on them.

![]() |

That's probably why the module doesn't officially include perception. It is nice to give value to other skills. To be fair though, someone with a good perception should have an easier time finding books than someone with a lousy one.

![]() |

By the way I'm travelling for the next week, so expect eratic posting for the next seven or eight days.

![]() |

<prod> updates in the game would be helpful. Things are likely to be slow between Christmas and New Years, so being able to make substantive progress before Christmas is kind of important if you want to get a chance at a GameDay3 boon.

![]() |

You can search the room; feel free to add a perception check in as well as the general search-the-rooms-for-books checks.
Christmas season is starting to take hold of me, so my posting is slowing down a bit too.

I can bring in a Level 5 Inquis very shortly as we are wrapping up the scenario in pbp. Fully understand if you want something like...today however.
Might not be interested though if it doesn't give full XP (why?).

![]() |

I can not confirm that it won't get full xp value.
We have already completed 2 encounters.
The GM had a death in the family and has stepped down. One of the players is willing to GM, but then his PC is not with us.

![]() |

Hi all. We are 3/4 of the way done, maybe more. But there is a still some more doing needed!
I know this is Christmas week, but with a bit of a push you might get done by Christmas, or very, very close to done.

![]() |

In the main thread, don't worry about waitign for other people to post. This is an odd game that doesn't appeal to many - esp with limited fighting. Just keep going, you are close to completion. Ill tell you to slow down if you are dominating too much.

![]() |

And with the books dusted off we are almost done.
Rolling for boons for everyone. Order of posting in this thread.
Boon on a 1 or a 20. So far in I think six GD3s I'm GMed, I've only gotten to give away one, so fingers crossed everyone.
