Feeling her body suffer real wounds, Esper concentrates on her own protection, implanting another mental defence in herself. Implanting psychosomatic surge on herself as a standard action. It will automatically trigger the next time she's wounded.

Esper picks up another blessed spear. There's still another blessed one down there, right? I feel like there is.

If anyone causes Dakang harm, she'll use painful stare on Dakang to add +1 to the damage. She can only do this once a round.

Alas poor worm. Or perhaps it would be fair to say alas poor worms, for now there are two. Two half worms. It collapses to the ground, twists and twitches horribly and eventually stops moving.

The foul remains of the dead priest slip from the creature like a discarded skin, and lie in a disgusting pile on the floor.

Yes, there's a limit. Psychosomatic surge is a trick, of which I can only use five a day. Also, each person can only be implanted with one trick at a time, and I can only have one trick implanted in someone at one time (unless I use my feat split trick, which lets me implant one trick into two people, although I can only activate the trick on one of them). Once activated (like it currently is in Kett), it no longer counts as implanted, which is how both Kett and I ended up under the effects of her trick at the same time. I've just implanted Esper with her third trick of the day, so I can implant two more today, but cannot implant any more until the one on Esper activates.

Esper smiles widely as Dakang finally comes down from the ceiling and promptly gets slaughtered by Durlo. "Well done, everyone!"

Seeing Magrat unconscious, Esper moves to her side. "Kett? May I borrow your wand?"

@ Kett - Do you mind if I try to activate your wand of cure light wounds on Magrat to heal her?

UMD: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (19) + 11 = 30 Succeeding.

One of the bodyguards sticks with you while the other goes to round up the other worshippers.

While in the room you look over the desk and find various texts missing from the library which are in the middle of being modified to corrupt their intent.

"We were sent to this temple to learn all that we could of your faith, and to catalogue its contents. We're scholars, of a sort. We never expected to find people still living and praying here. Unfortunately, the false Dakang's corruptions will be difficult to separate from what was once a pure and good religion. With your blessing we would like to examine the temple and its contents. Through our efforts, and with your help, we may be able to discern what was true and what was corrupted through the years."

With a gentle smile she asks, "Will we have your aid?"

"Dakang had pronounced the crypt and hallway off limits. But now I don't know if that was him or that worm thing." says the guard, leading you to the long hallway that leads to the crypt.

Most of the everburning lanterns hanging in this hall are dark, but the dimness does not diminish the grandeur of this corridor. Along the north wall stand several statues, each depicting an angel or other good outsider. Some are depicted in dramatic poses befitting a holy warrior. Others have heads bowed in eternal contemplation and hands cupping glass spheres. The southern wall bears a large set of double doors, but these doors are boarded up. Smaller doors stand at opposite ends of the hall. A few bits of stone and other debris litter the floor and a musty odor hangs in the air.

Durlo sketches the statues in his notebook and takes copious notes of the hall and connects its imagery with the other areas they have visited.

"Friend Magrat is taking a rest. We probably should too," he says to Esper. He tries to find a good place to sleep in this strange place.

Durlo will finish up cataloging the corridor and then sleep. Then the next day, he will suggest they tear down the boards and go through the last door.

The team rests up. Those who still have energy might spend some time in the library or the garden, or perusing the books that the priest had been modifying. There is also the meditation chamber, but the worhsippers are now confused about how much they did there was proper.

You meet back at the end of the hallway leading down to the crypt.

The boarded up doors were half way down and a different way into the corridor.

It takes a little effort, but she can eventually pry them off.
Take 20 does the trick even with a STR of 10

Beyond is the semi-cleared garden. The little gnome can be seen sitting next to the flayleaf plant.

Before resting, Birseko writes numerous notes to himself to remind him of what is going on, in case he remembers nothing when he wakes. But, to his surprise, when he rises, refreshed, he remembers everything from the previous day except he no longer recalls how to cast Ear-Piercing Scream. How odd. I know it was quite useful yesterday, but now I don't remember how I did it...

Magrat gets up, and meditates on her harrows to select new spells for the day. Then she uses one of them on herself.

Let's try the door from the garden. We still need to come back there later and finish mapping the full plan of the garden layout.

Birseko greets the gnome in the garden and asks him what he makes of the revelation about the priest.

Going through the garden you remove the boards from the crypt door and enter its dim light.

This vaulted mausoleum holds six large sarcophagi, each bearing the carved image of an aasimar dressed in ornate robes and holding glass spheres in one hand and a bell, a book, or a lotus flower in the other. Innumerable runes
crowd the top edges and sides of each sarcophagus. A solid wooden door stands near another door that has been boarded shut.

Within are three skeletons. Each turns its head to look at the pathfinder team, cold blue light burning in their eyes.

Two of them appear to be normal skeletons, the yellow one is a champion however. All skeletons are immune to cold and resistant to non bludgeoning weapons. The champion is tougher and resistant to positive energy as well. Weakest saves are reflex.

It's thick armor deflects Kett's hefty hammer blow.

Esper enters the room and pulls out her quarterstaff. She looks around and then tries to focus her gaze on the blue skeleton.

Sensing her powers aren't of any use, Esper holds her staff out and ready.

Esper gives the skeleton a glare. It glares back. Durlo moves into the room and stands ready. When the skeleton approaches he swings, but cannot connect to the bony monster.

Birseko takes out her wand and blasts the champion skeleton. It takes it, well, like a champion and keep standing.

Magrat, Durlo is not currently hurt, do you want to do something different? You can act twice this round.

The champion, enraged by the magic missile slashes Kett, catching the brave warrior with a hefty blow. The other two skeletons are ineffective against the warriors.

As soon as Kett is harmed by the skeletons, he can feel a familiar welcoming feeling blossoming inside him. Esper's magic is once again protecting him.

As soon as Kett is hit psychosomatic surge activates on him. Kett gains temp HP for one hour equal to:

Temp HP: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

In addition, because she used split trick, Esper no longer has psychosomatic surge implanted in herself.

Feeling her own magical protection activate on Kett, Esper focuses her magic onto herself. Standard action to implant psychosomatic surge on herself. The next time she's harmed it will automatically activate.

And one strike is all it does take Durlo. He notes some of the impact of his greatsword is lost, slicing between the skeletons ribs. But the powerful blow is easily enough to shatter the blue skeleton.

You mean he always looks that way!? Well then, I guess he gets unsolicited guidance instead. Then she concentrates on bringing the most misfortune she can to the nearest active pile of bones (Will DC 14).
