Speaking of divine caster, Shungur's bard is hanging with a cleric I may have to make an effort to keep away from Jal - a whip wielding halfling cleric of Calistria.
Brother Tophor |
I haven't run Silent Tide or Hydra Fang. I'm happy to continue on with this group!
GM Aerondor |
Okay, Chronicles are posted.
As per normal, please check and double check. Confirm back here that things are good, or that I got something wrong!
GM Aerondor |
I'm leaning towards Silent Tide if nobody has any preference for a particular scenario. I'll have to buy whatever we play, so if there is one you really want, sing out now.
Eldon García |
Both of them work for me Aerondor!
Chronicle seems ok for Eldon.
Jal Vaduva |
Silent Tide sounds excellent, and Jal's chronicle sheet looks good, too. I'll be updating him today, and I have a few specific purchases that I'll need to work in, as well (which I'll detail at the open of this next game).
Jal Vaduva |
Okay, Jal's updated. :D
Also, everyone: if you have a few seconds, go check out Jal's latest tattoo ... it's in his "Tattoos and Personality" spoiler near the bottom of the page. The tattoo you're looking for is listed last, starting with "Right Shoulder Blade (Tide of Twilight)". Jal would be most interested in showing it off to the crew.
Shungur Edge-Of-Sky |
Do we know her? :P
Hey, what should I buy with all my loot? I'm thinking of getting better armor--or should I just save up? Shungur is doing ok as a buffer/caster with a longspear in place just in case something comes by.
Jal Vaduva |
Is it Mylitta?! That girl can spin a serious yarn!
And in that same vein... not to switch everything completely up, but as it looks like we'll be running Silent Tide with mostly lvl 1 and 2 characters, I'm leaning towards bringing in Mors Buolgun, my half-orc 'Thug for Good'.
It'd help me get to level two with Mors, but I'm also having to scrimp and save with Jal already (damn price-gouging tattoo artists!) and I would prefer to attempt to play him up-tier when I can at 3
Anyone have any concerns or issues with that?

Saving up isn’t a bad call for a caster. A better AC is always good, as long as it doesn’t eat up all your coin.
Secondarily, looking your current inventory, you could likely pick up a few more expendable items to round out your tactical options in case we run up against those tougher-to-kill opponents.
Acid/Alchemist’s Fire for swarms.
Tanglefoot bag targets touch AC and can be a pretty serious de-buff for a tough opponent (though Shungur has a crappy BAB and a low dex, so it might not be worth it)
Holy Water is always good for spritzing in the face of those pesky undead.
Then again, a tiny little suit of leather armor for Ptekoah would be pretty sweet. :)
Eldon García |
I don't think there is any problem with you bringing a new character. I would prefer you to play Jal and we bravely go for the upper tier!
(but perhaps I have too high concept of us!)
I love the tattoos idea! although I didn't find Eldon recognised in the last one.
This is a terrible headache, I am having real trouble to decide if going pure Magus or Kensai/Rogue multiclass. The first one allows for more spell capacity but takes longer to get to the meaty part. The Kensai/Rogue deals great amounts of damage early on with higher AC, evasion and tones of skills to support the party, while maintaining certain spell capacity.
Jal Vaduva |
Looks back at tattoo ... well, dang. It's fixed now, though. :)
Sorry, the oversight wasn't intentional. Eldon's officially on the tattoo. Thanks for the heads-up.
I wasn't aware that a group of five level 2's and one level 3 could play up in a Tier 1-5 scenario. I'd hate to get somebody killed just because I'm looking to make a bit more coin with Jal.
Eldon García |
Well, technically, if one of the level twos brings a level 5 and another a level 4, it will be average level 3 and you could play up with the other 3 level 2s, but that's too much messing up with the current party composition :-P
Thanks for the consideration!!
Jal Vaduva |
True, but that feels even more dangerous to the low-level folks. Then again, I'm relatively new to PFS ... I'm open to the possibility that I don't know what I'm talking about.
Shungur, Tophor, you guys care if I stay as Jal or switch it up?
Jal Vaduva |
Lol. While Jal would certainly hate to stand up his old friend Red, this new girl Asami is so much easier to be rude to. :P
In all honesty, I figured neither you or ginganinja (Diana's player) would mind, since you're also bringing in new characters.
Asami |
Men and their logic. Don't you know it's rude not to ask a lady's opinion on these things?
As for my opinion...I don't know, what do you think?
Ooh, better not let my wife see this. She would have my hide.
Shungur Edge-Of-Sky |
I'm still gonna be Level 1. :D
I don't really care about levels...I mean, it's designed to work ok with Tier 1-5, and the subtier will stay low, right?
Eldon, I feel your pain...I always feel weird playing 3/4 BAB classes. (Except ninjas.) This is probably due to residual clumsiness in my gaming style--hang back and cast, or wade in and fight make sense when one is d6 or d10/d12 respectively. If I were you I would tough it out, as Kensais are cool! Iajitsu!
GM Aerondor |
If you want to swap out Jal, We can do The Wounded Wisp, which is designed for 1s and 2s. That will let some of the others gain much needed xp. And I already own.
Juniper Menlisse |
In the interest of full disclosure, I must confess I have a paladin running The Wounded Wisp under DM Kluddie right now. I would love to run it with you all, though, and it would not surprise me if we manage to surpass that game in progress within the week, given our posting track record :).
Juniper Menlisse |
These past few months have been so much fun. I may try running First Steps or The Confirmation with my three girls this weekend and see if they can handle the more organized story telling and the bigger conflicts.
I am about done playing We Be Goblins and thought about running that, but the goblins may not be cute enough for my kids.
I wonder if Paizo would consider a PFS for Kids set of scenarios aimed at pre-teens. Now that I think about it, The Confirmation may be good for them. I figure, if I handle the mechanical stuff, let them freeform and roll dice while I add the bonuses/penalties, then may be they'll immerse themselves in the game without worrying about what's "effective". It does mean the NPC that I bring to help keep them alive will have to be good at his job. Just in case.
Ooh, I'm excited. My first GM chance, and it'll be for my girls. Now, do I have something going on this weekend...
And get them their PFS numbers. My wife will be thrilled. Muwahahaha.
GM Aerondor |
New discussion thread open for The Wounded Wisp. Put your characters up in there and then post in the Game thread as well, and we'll be off.
One day I'll learn to make a new campaign on this forum without a stub recruitment thread first.
I've also done the online reporting now, so at some stage this scenario should show up on your online session tracker.
Good luck with your daughters and your wife. Hey - get her playing as well.

I'll mark this now as inactive. PM me if there are any futher issues with chronicles. I'm also happy to take feedback on GMing style, if you have suggestions for improvements.
