reflex dc 15: 1d20 + 7 - 1 ⇒ (12) + 7 - 1 = 18
Hakime finds herself battered and tumbled in the snow and buried lightly... she tries to get out.
strength: 1d20 + 3 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 3 + 5 = 21
Close, but no cigar... she feels like she is making progress, but after a few moments, realizes she is mistaken and is merely making progress sideways, and only slight at that.
Hakime |
Hakime calls out, trying to attract attention of her friends, hopefully they are not buried as well... "Helllooooo!! Anyone out there???"
GM Aerondor |
Hakime, feel free to make another couple of STR checks.
Given your resources and the number of folk on the surface, I'm going to assume anyone still buried after three minutes is able to be extracted in the fourth.[/ooc]
NL damage for Pierre if he doesn't get out before minute 3: 3d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 4) = 12

"There were figures above. They ran away and I doubt it was to rush down here to help."
"Enough people up here don't like strangers. Could be more o the murderous thieves filling these hills to angry natives"
Kor'sarro Khan |
Seeing his companions still under the snow he whispers a quick prayer before he used some of his divine powers on himself. Once that was done he would aid in the search, shouting out the names Hakime and Pierre. Turning his head towards Rocky he frowned for a moment "We may have enemies where we go, these fagrants, if they wish us dead, will be swiftly dealt with when we see them again, we need to find our friends..."

Rogar Valertis Alastoris |
I guess Rogar didn't end up near the surface then
As the others dig him out of the snow Rogar sputters a bit before reaching out and joining the digging effort himslef. When everyone's been freed he reaches for his wand of cure light wounds and asks for some healing.
Pierre Viret |
@GM: I already rolled Pierre's save, attempts and NL dmg taken. See my previous post.
Hakime |
somehow I didn't have as much damage noted as you do... 34 points leaves HAkime unconscious, so cannot make any str checks to free herself.
Hakime is finally pulled from the snow by her friends... cold and fatigued and unconscious...
Once brought conscious she does have her own clw wands in her belt, she says, teeth chattering from the cold, "Thank you, I didn't think I was going to make it there... I almost gave in to despair. By Erastil's holy horns, I am grateful to be alive!"
GM Aerondor |
@Pierre, I see it now, sorry for missing that.

GM Aerondor |
Hakime spends a few moments healing the worst of the groups injuries.
With dogs and sleds lost to the avalanche the group heads slowly onward and upward. Luckily (kind of) the path quickly becomes too steep for the sleds to have managed to get any further. A tiny footpath winds up a steep slope covered with boulders.
Given you have rope, you can reduce the DC 10 climb check, which I think Pitbull can probably manage in her sleep.
The path continues along a broad plateau and ends at the edge of a snow filled gorge. The gorge is named The Maw for the jagged spires of rock that jut through the drifts. Atop the plateau rests the cairn.
The top is shrouded in mist, which parts for a moment to give you an beautiful view.
Near the top of the slope, a broad plateau wraps around the mountain. Near the middle of the plateau rises a squat, 30-foot-square stone rostrum, upon which stand four columns of dark gray stone. One of the columns is broken and lies half-buried in the nearby drifts of snow. In the center of the rostrum rests a five-foot-tall beehive-shaped nest built of ice and cairn stones seemingly frozen around a clutch of eight massive bluish-gray speckled eggs, each the size of a brandy cask.
Then just as rapidly it closes in again.
See map
You have okay visibility only for sixty feet, and poor (grants 50% concealment) visibility another thirty beyond that. The pink donut is roughly where you saw the cairn.

We would want to make sure everyone was healed before moving on. I have a wand if anyone needs some charges from it.
"Big eggs means something big laid them. A possible source of food, shelter, and of course danger. Thoughts?"
Kor'sarro Khan |
Once at the top of the mountain after making sure each and every one is back at the top he turns around to take in the magnificent view. Awestruck for a moment before turning his gaze to Pitbull. "What way do we have to?" Having a rough feel on where to go to he decides to see if there is anything out of the ordinary

"I suggest we tread [i]cautiously here. Warriors first of course!"[/b] he says bowing to Hakime.

Pitbull sniffs the air and signals the party to fan out.
"I raised Asbo from a little chicky egg. What could go wrong? I suspect it's not a big chicken" the Half-Orc laughs her rough laugh and pushes forward cautiously over the plateau moving forward sword in hand.
She checks her footing, and if needed, swaps to her cleats or snowshoes.
GM Aerondor |
Kor detects no evil up here, while the group pushes forward.

not sure if hakime is close enough to need fort saves because I'm not sure of the orientation of the map or where the creatures are on it, not to mention she's an archer and has no business on the front line, but if so:
