It looks like you "Inherited" the game and renamed it. I had a difficult time finding it, as my previous bookmarks were no longer accurate. You may want to email the group and let them know the new link

I resent the hell out of modules like this. The society really need to pay for camels. Sure we can walk but really? The metagame tells me that we will travel at speed of plot but in reality? We'd camel up. Its a 80gp tax on my level 1 character AFTER I resell everything back. At level 4? Its not such a big deal but it hurts at my lower WBL.
The Endure Elements is a funny one - 50/50 on resenting that.

I had my players rent camels. Treated it like a hireling that they would get back when I ran this. I can't stomach that nonsense either, Helaman. FYI, I am here. I will post with Oronia before I leave, but I have a con all weekend and have been prepping my butt off all week. That being said, hopefully she will be 3rd when I get back. We will need the skills.

Also: DM Pete, I was looking at this and I noticed that it had the ring marked out, but in the scenario it states that you get access to the ring as long as you reach an amiable solution. You don't have to beat her in combat. I doubt I will use the ring ever, but someone might. Just a small concern because that is potentially one of the best items on a cert.

Sorry, in trying to figure out how to post a link to a map, I saw I could rename the campaign and figured I should to accurately reflect the adventure. I had no idea it would cause headaches.
I can preauthorize access to the map, but I need people's email addresses to do so. Either try to access the map, which triggers a request for authorization, or email me your preferred email address. My email address is artseverance@yahoo.com. I actually added this particular map to get that going, so when you get to the first combat, tomorrow or the day after, I will have everyone's address already to preauthorize. There will be a total of three maps in this adventure.
As for resenting the cost of buying camels, two players just went ahead and bought them. No one has investigated renting camels, which I did when I played the adventure. You can certainly do so if you would like. Also, assuming there is some overcap, we can deduct the cost of renting camels or of buying camels then selling them back from overcap. Either way, unless you miss a ton of treasure or want to take the camels out of the adventure, you will not end up paying for them.
I would normally have the Society lend you camels, but the Society is in Sothis, and you are already quite some distance away in Eto.
As for temperatures, unless you want to fight in armor in the desert or insist on travelling during the hottest part of the day, you really don't need endure elements. This module really does not go into the environmental stuff at all. It goes into overland travel, but just barely.
Finally, Oronia, go ahead and play with us for now. You can level up after your con and apply the chronicle from this adventure as if it started after the con. It will certainly be dated after the con.

I can live with having to buy a camel, what I resent a lot more is to have to deal with the hassle of stabling etcetera (with some GM's) or having to spend PP to get a squire.
And to be honest: I did not think about renting, and at a table one of the other characters might have said "Maybe we should try to rent a camel, instead of buying them" when Kintampo said he would go and buy a camel. Water under the bridge and thank you GM for allowing us to be reimbursed for the cost.

I'm back from the Con! I'll have her leveled up in an hour or so and post!

GM Art Severance |

I think that's all of the questions to Sellana answered so far. If I missed one, please remind me. I will check in again tonight to answer other questions or adjudicate other actions up to meeting and conversing with Sellana. Let's leave the archive until next week. Feel free to post actions regarding the archive over the weekend. I'll start adjudicating them on Sunday night or Monday morning.
For the record, this adventure involves three or four long RP encounters. By their very nature, such encounters are going to involve a lot of back and forth, and therefore a large number of posts in a PbP game. I don't want anyone to feel left out. If there's something you want to do or ask or say, post it! I will make sure to address it, whether in order or not and whether it repeats some earlier question or not. You all have ample time to explore and talk to Sellana.
Assuming you wanted to also play Part III, I was pitching the timing so that we could finish this adventure in the next week and a half and finish Part III by the end of June. I just gave you the room descriptions for all of the empty rooms to save a little time, because I knew the RP was coming up. Sellana is actually an optional encounter, but I think it’s one of the key ones and a great RP opportunity, so I didn’t want you to miss it.
To slow things up a bit, let’s aim at finishing this adventure by the end of June. That will give you plenty of time to roleplay out all of the exploration, conversations, and combats. After that, we can decide whether you would like to play Part III or not.

Sounds good.
Just as an FYI - The thing I missed was that I had Ancient Orsinani and I read that post and thought 'Wow - great, I can really have a crack at this but we were about 10-12 posts beyond that point and the caratouches. Its not anyones fault, just a missed opp. The game is good - no dramas.

Art, will you at least get to go to GenCon?

![]() |

I'll see you then!

![]() |

You going to Scotty's the day before?

![]() |

Nope, I haven't been to GenCon since it was in WI. We are taking a bus full of PFS folks from our area this year. 28 passenger bus.

GM Art Severance |

That'll be fun! Scotty's is a brewpub. The games are played in a rather crowded area at narrow tables where the players sit on high stools. There is not a lot of room for dice, minis, and maps. Add the beer and food and books and backpacks on the floor, and it's jam-packed. The players and games are great, though. Last year I ran a game. I probably will this year, too, if we go to Scotty's. We left early to go to the Stink after (just played one game early in the day). I will skip the Stink and probably play or run a second game this year. I'll just plan to be a little more minimalist this year, rather than hauling all of my usual judge stuff (atlas maps, markers, sourcebooks, etc.). I might do mini maps with mini minis, too, to make more room on the table for nachos! The t-shirts they sell that day were very groovy last year!

Level 3
Day Job: None

GM Art Severance |

I have some meetings on Wednesday. To make sure you get your chronicles on time, I am uploading them here. Please do not review them until then. If you find any errors or need any changes, please let me know.
I left the day job gold for Maherpa and Mareq blank. Please make the roll online (if you have a day job) and fill in the correct amount of gold on the sheet.
Seriously, do not read the chronicles before we end, as they contain some spoiler information.

1d20 ⇒ 16 As Maherpa did, we should all roll a d20 to see if we get a boon.

GM Art Severance |

Everyone, I need real names and email addresses for the PbP Game Day reporting. I know Lecate and Mareq, so I have theirs, but I need them for Kintampo, Maherpa, and Oronia.
In addition, Oronia, you won the boon roll. I need to know which boon you would like. The choices are:
Lingering Resonance
Mendevian Weapon Training
Moment of Glory
Long Distance Support
I have all of those except Moment of Glory, so if you are not familiar with them, I can email the text of them to you to help you decide. Just let me know. However, I need you to decide soon, because I have to finish reporting by 11pm CDT tomorrow (July 9, 2014).
Kintampo, I have Lingering Resonance boon that I have already transferred over to you. Once I have your email address, I will forward it to you. Alternately, I can mail the original to you, but I will need your mailing address to do that. You can email it to me at trigician@yahoo.com.

GM Art Severance |

Thank you all for a great game!
If you would like to continue to use this thread to play Part 3, I would be happy to judge it for you. Frankly, I haven't either played or read it yet, but I imagine it would take until sometime in September to finish. Given what's on the chronicle for Part II, it may be an adventure that is more fun to play this one in person, though. That said, if there are at least three takers, I would be happy to run it online.

GM Art Severance |

You're very welcome! Kintampo, I got your real name off of your profile, but I still need your email address and whether you would like me to email or mail the extra boon to you. (Airmail is no problem if you want the physical boon, I just need an address in that case.) Please post here or email me at trigician@yahoo.com, whichever you prefer.
