Eadie *deadpans* “So you like that plan do you, Lore? I'm only protecting my own interests, you know - because I can't treat my own injuries. How much I might personally like you and Eredax has little bearing on it, you know.”
Eadie can’t maintain her serious façade as she lets slip a smile.
The young warrior then indicates a wooden rod on her belt. “I keep a wand of Cure Light Wounds here, please don’t hesitate to use it on whoever you think needs it.”
Eadie will keep a sharp lookout for trouble from the highest point on the vessel.

Under your orders, the Abacus sets sail to bypass Xer. For the next day the captain keeps you far from any faith barges. You see only the occasional merchant ships here and there.
Suddenly a merchant ship sailing somewhat close to you hoists a Razmiri flag, its skipper yelling for you to stop.
You can see two ballista armed with grappling hook starting to become unveiled. Captain Passad looks at you all, his face tells all. Despite being a shift vessel, this faith barge is faster.

"Well, I guess we get to be buccaneers. Let'em aboard, and let's take care of them. Maybe we can just bind them for the time being."

![]() |

“We don’t have any proof of paying the tariff, Eredax and I don’t believe anyone is particularly skilled at bluffing. If you want to do any pre-combat buffing or prepare a ranged spell or weapon – I think now’s the time.”
Eadie will calmly ask the envoys to …
“Get down into the hold where it will be safer, we will let you know when it is safe to come out.”
The young warrior will say to the Captain, “If there’s time please organize water buckets in case they use fire.”
Eadie will drag some crates/barrels towards the side of the vessel to give cover to herself and her companions from ranged attacks. She will ready a javelin to throw once an enemy comes within range. Before the enemy boards, true to her earlier word with Grim she will withdraw towards the middle of the boat, draw her falchion and stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the inquisitor to make a stand with her compatriots.
Can I make out the likely numbers and classes of any boarders? Where are they likely to board?

Well, i was against this course of action and i am really not sure if just starting a combat right now is a wise plan. Perhaps we should wait and see what happens. There might be some other possibilities. We can still fight later if there is no other choice. So pease hold your fire.

![]() |

Eadie looks to the serene bard. “Tomoe, if you think you can talk us out of this – by all means, take your best shot. If it goes wrong, I’ll back you up.”
Eadie will sheathe her falchion and wait in a position close to Grim, hopefully close enough to rush to the lotus geisha’s aid if negotiations break down.

![]() |

"I am not sure how they would know if we did or did not pay the tariff. They may want to check, or negotiate. Likely it will not go well...but we cannot betray our envoy's. "
Grim gets behind a crate and readies his crossbow (low and out of sight) with axe ready for any close quarter boarding parties.

As the disguised faith barge nears the Abacus Eadie sees that there are several members of the crew tending to the lines. However, there are three armored enforcers readying a gangplank used to board this boat. There is also baboon that is already swinging from the barge and appears ready to land on the Abacus!
An ill-tempered appearing enforcer shouts from the other boat, Oi, be prepared receive this boarding party. You better have your papers ready and cargo available for inspection The man spits into the water, spittle oozing down his chin.

![]() |

"No pressure," Ruprecht whispers to the others, eyeing the baboon closely.

![]() |

tee hee "Good one, Grim!"
Eadie will draw a javelin but holds her fire, depending on Tomoe’s actions.
It is a simple matter to draw her falchion if the fight transforms suddenly into melee.
Not long now, I’m thinking.

The enforcer sees Eadie grab the javelin, Hold still lass or Me'll take your arm off. The other enforcer fires his crossbow towards Eadie but the bolt misses and clangs into the decking.

The monkey is 20' high in the rigging.
Eadie- yes, there is an adjustment for being less than six players. The number of thugs have decreased magically to two this encounter. :)

you left out Lore... and I thought we DID have 6 characters.

Hi, Tomoe!
@Lore, there’s NO WAY we could leave you out … after all, one of the first missions a number of us ever did in PFS was ...

Assuming that since I did not post, I delayed until after Grim? If so, Eredax will Channel after his companion is hit. Using Selective Channel to affect only allies.
Channel: 1d6 ⇒ 3
If the above is accepted, the next action would be to cast Bless. If not, and Eredax forfeited his action, then he will cast Bless only, for the time being.

![]() |

Eredax that is a fine action for the first round. Please read the discussion forum for a note on procedures.
Eredax holds his holy symbol to the skies and chants a few words. Suddenly the party is filled with energy. Some of the wounds taken heal a bit.
Eadie and Tomoe, your turns please.

Seing that the guy does not want to be her friend, Tomoe instead tells him a magical joke.

Enraged that the baboon has injured her friend, Eadie drops her javelin and draws her falchion as she moves 25’ through Eredax’s square to end up just to the east of the hanging ape.
I believe you let us have an extra 5’ for this round only, DrGabe?
She slashes at the creature with furiously focussed power.

5' Of extra movement is over. Grim since your target is very dead, please give another other!

![]() |

probably my last post for a couple of days at least... depends on if I can post from my phone or not and what the wifi is like where we will be. Since the thugs went and you are soliciting Grim's action, Lore goes after Grim so here it is for after Grim's action:
Lore throws another flame, this time at the boarder who is not laughing his head off.
ranged touch to hit: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 5 + 1 = 12
dmg if hits: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
2/4 flames remaining

![]() |

Eadie's cheeks color a bit at Grim's praise. The young warrior holds her falchion in her left hand, while drawing another navhelan … I mean javelin, with her right and flings it at the enforcer, who is not amused at Tomoe’s joke.
Javelin: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
She tries to taunt the enforcer into crossing over onto the Abacus, before taking a 5’ step to the south-east, to try and take advantage of partial cover from the crates.
“Come and get us, we killed your monkey!”

Guys, when I want to know your current hp status, where should I be looking at? I am almost 10% sure not every one of you is updating the status bar below your name :D
If my math is correct, the only one that took damage so far was Grim? A bolt for 4 (bolt) + 6 (monkey bite) = 10 - 3 (Channel) = 7. Is this correct?
Reaching for his sling, Erdax is dismayed at the fact that it is not where he believed it was - you seem to hear childish giggling off in the distance as the man searches for his weapon.
Assuming Haunted, also applies to retrieve a sling, correct? :D

![]() |

hehe, yes Eredax, it applies to weapons too - I play a haunted oracle of metal and have to deal with the same thing when he doesn't make his own weapon...and yes, I update my hp in my status bar every time I take damage, but that won't be happening while I'm away so if Lore takes damage, please note it to memory or something. You should put your own hp in status bar as well, so if Lore needs to heal YOU, she'll know when.

![]() |

DM, I hate to say this, but it looks like you hit Ruprecht last round with a crossbow bolt and didn't roll damage.

![]() |

Grim's large statue allows him to get close, but the thugs don't try to get any closer to the enlarged dwarf.
Lore's bolt slams into one of the thugs causing him to stagger and bleed from his nose.
Eadie's Javelin misses the mark and sticks into the mast.
Eredax starts to giggle and laugh, perhaps he found Tomoe's joke funny as well?!?
Speaking of which Tomoe draws her shortbow but the arrow sails wide of the thug and gets caught in the netting of the ship.
The thug still up fires his bow again at Ruprecht Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
The other thug tries to forget the joke... 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19, and suddenly decides that it was quite racists and is now even more angry!
PC's turn

He throws yet another bomb at his opponent.
