"I bet Ruprecht could do that. He can be pretty sneaky when he tries."
Eadie Navhelan
|
Eadie arches an eyebrow. "Oh really?"
... while we love ya, Ruprecht, yer not welcome in the ladies' room
Eadie checks under the beds and in the wardrobes for a certain elven alchemist and assuming she doesn't find one, says "Nope, not here. What say we head off to find the fellas. We might need a cover story about why we're out of our rooms."
She considers ... "How about mass-sleep walking?"

Perception Check: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27
As Eadie splashes around in the sink her eyes turn toward the tub. While it is not the time to settle in for a bath, she sees some scratch marks on the ground. Looking closer it appears that the tub has been moved frequently of late.
With a soft push, the tub slides easily revealing a trap door below.
Ruprecht Antillious

Ruprecht takes a closer look around his room as well. Anything that seems untowards, strange, out of place, etc.

Tomoe Gozen

Tomoe would of course help Eadie with the bluff if she already can´t wait to let the real tricksters do that. You guys are moving fast and rpging so much, incredible but good! You could either count Eadie as helping me or vice versa, as the others wish. Their sense motive has a -2 vs my bluff though, so if Eadie would be doing aid another for me i would beat them.
Bluff: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22
After all that talk downstairs Tomoe visibly enjoys their room and all the comfort. Slumping down on the bed she produces a brush and turns to the other two.
You think you could brush my fur? Perhaps i´ll sing for you then. We can investigate that door later.
Eredax
|
Eredax decides to stay in the main room for a while longer, absorbed by a couple particular passages on one of his books regarding Divinity and Man.
He accompanies the reading with a light digestive drink, and a smoke from his pipe, happy to engage in conversation with any of his companions if they stick around.
Noticing as Grim comes back from outside, he comments - "How is the air tonight my friend? Enjoyable?"
If no further stuff goes on at the common room, you can fast forward DrGabe to his own room :D

|
Lore takes the brush with a little shrug and starts brushing Tomoe's fur with a little bit of laughter. "THis is a task I'd never thought I'd be doing for a fellow pathfinder. You are the first I've met who had fur. Tell me if I'm doing okay or how you prefer being brushed if I do it wrong, alright? Can you tell me about your people, I've never met a, what exactly are you, Tomoe?" She blushes in embarrassment at having had to ask.
Tomoe Gozen

Normally i wouldn´t tell, but i´m a Kitsune. We live among humans in Tian Xia mostly. I don´t show my fox form often though. It can be quite the surprise hehe. Just brush the fur with the line and not too hard. I trust you can do that pretty good.
Lorelendral Teklet
|
"Kitsune. What a pretty name! And I think your fox form is quite pretty. Can you change into a fox as well as a person? That could be really handy! I've heard of gnomes who live deep in the earth who could change into burrowing creatures but I think that's just tall tales." Lore makes idle chatter while she brushes, until Eadie thinks it's time to go collect the boys. "Did you grow up in TIan Xia? What was it like? How did you come here to the West?"
Brother Grimdoc
|
Grim comes in from the outside and sees Eredax and pulls up a chair next to the Oracle.
"Hail friend. The night air feels good. Just good to be off the water and ready for our business tomorrow. Where are the ladies? Not enough excitement happenin for them here?"
Grim looks around to see if the hosts are still around. If so had will order a drink.
"If you have a nice stout, I will enjoy one with my bearded friend here. "
Eadie Navhelan
|
Eadie is touched that Tomoe trusts the warrior woman enough with her secret.
"Wow. I can now see why you have such a knack with people. Kitsune have a reputation for being enchanting and charismatic."
"You can trust me to be discreet, Tomoe."
Eadie then mentions her discovery in the bathroom.
Perception for traps or alarms on the trap door: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
"I have found a trap door hidden under the bath tub. I am concerned the Grymble sisters might be calling in reinforcements. I don't think we should delay and get right onto exploring what's beyond that trap door, so we can hopefully find the missing Pathinder and envoy before the enemy arrives in force."
"What do you both think? I might go and find the others, and see if they agree."
Eadie will then visit Ruprecht, Grim and Eredax in the common room, conveying the news of her discovery and encouraging immediate action. She will munch some dried fruit from her trail rations along the way, offering some to her companions.
"I suspect there will be plenty of excitement beneath that trap door, Grim. And I should tell you later about the people that inspired me to consider paladinhood."
"Date?"
DrGabe
|
Ruprecht's careful inspection of the smaller shows no window to the outside, but the room doesn't show anything particular. Interestingly, the door does lock from the inside. However Ruprecht easily sees that the lock can be triggered from outside easily- the room isn't as secure as he would like it to be.
Sorry, you guys are having so much fun RP'ing I sometimes get lost with the game play!
Ruprecht Antillious
|
In the guys room, Ruprecht will fill the others in on what he observed. "We certainly aren't safe in here. If the dwarves were in here, that lock would have meant they could have been barged in on and taken."
When the others go to meet the ladies, the elf follows, prepared to share information.
Eadie Navhelan
|
"Well the trap door in the bathroom could count as a new development, I guess ... Do you boys want to come and take a look and see what you think?"
"Anything interesting in your room, Ru?"
Eadie chats with Grimdoc along the way to the luxury room, before knocking on the door.
"Are you girls decent? We've got company."
"There's a tall half-elf paladin I have taken a few messages to for VC Dreng when I was an initiate, who first got me thinking seriously about paladinhood. But he doesn't know I'm alive ... and runs with a couple of half-elves of ... dubious reputation shall we say."
"My biological mother (who I don't remember at all) was a novice paladin of Abadar and although nothing was ever said, a few of the clergy hinted that I might eventually like to follow in her footsteps."
"A chat with an Imam of Sarenrae named Kary during my second mission, really got me thinking. I don't suppose you know her, Lore? Anyway, during my next break, I had an interview with the Bishop of Abadar in Absalom who kinda implied I wasn't ... comely enough to be a Paladin. I was ... pretty upset about that at the time."
"I put two of my last adventuring companions on the spot by asking them what they thought. The first, a young man told me *rolls eyes* 'My features are aesthetically pleasing' Not pretty or attractive, but definitely ..." Eadie does quotation mark fingers. 'Aesthetically pleasing.' Well! Didn't I have some aesthetically pleasing feedback for him!"
"The second was a stoic lady-paladin of the Inheritor, who told me 'I was beautiful, and anyone who couldn't see it was a fool!' She also said she would welcome my sword-arm into her Sixth Circle any time."
"And do you know what? Once she said that I WAS effectively paladin-material, I realised the choice of what I want to do is entirely up to me. So nobody else but me has chosen the fighting path over the path of obedience for Eadie Navhelan and besides ..." Eadie grins. "Being chaotic is fun."
Ruprecht Antillious
|
"Well, there were no trap doors, but the lock was rigged that it would be extremely easy for someone to sneak in. If the dwarves were in there, they could have been jumped before anyone could react. I'm more interested in that trapdoor, though. Anyone want to take a gander?"
Ruprecht walks up to the hole in the floor and takes a peek at it.

"Into the breach, then," Ruprecht asks, preparing to open the door when the others were prepared.

Sorry, Ere. DM, Ruprecht would not have opened that hatch unless the whole group was there and in agreement. Or Ere had told him to go ahead and do so, which didn't happen. Can we have someone go fetch him before the elf pops the lid?

Ruprecht hops down, looking around for anything sketchy.

At first Ruprecht can't make out the sounds, but upon further intense listening he hears two different sounds. One sound is deep and rough. It sounds like a jailor checking on his captives. However, the sounds also has an otherworldly component to it. Its hard for Ruprecht to provide further details. The second set of voices are weak and despondent. Its sounds like captives.
Eadie Navhelan

"Nice work, Ruprecht!"
Eadie activates the Light function on her Wayfinder and clips it to her belt before descending the ladder way. "There you are, Eredax!"
"Is the door locked, Ruprecht? Any traps or alarms?"
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25
Once everyone is ready to enter the room, Eadie will draw her falchion and apply her Oil of Magic Weapon to it.
She whispers. "Grim, I'll go in first if you like. Does anyone have any pre-combat buffs they want to apply?"

"Am I certain, Good Eredax? I am not. Do I think it likely ..?"
The young warrior simply nods.
"If we can talk the envoys out of their shackles well and good. Otherwise I am ready."
Lorelendral Teklet

"Me too. Though talking first sounds like a fine solution as long as it doesn't give them time to raise an alarm."

Rounding the corner you see a strange site. This underground room appears to be a jail of sorts. There are several rooms, each with occupants. In the hallway is a childlike blasphemy conjoins the features of a plump human infant and a gigantic, gore-fattened fly. There is also beast that looks more like a rolling wave of flesh, its half formed limbs pointing at one of the prisoners.
