Wasn't sure you were keeping Ing on its initiative. If that's the case:
Ing slithers up onto the bar towards Thallin. As steins and mugs go flying, it lunges forward and tries to catch the thug's head in its oversized jaws.

My apologies, but I am having a bit of a stressful week. A friend is being forced out of his house and I am helping him move and we have family visiting. Please GMPC as needed. If you are in one of my games, know that you are not forgotten and I will resume regular postings ASAP. Thank you.

Thug #2 grunts in pain as Thallin's weapon penetrates his midsection, but he braces against the pain and remains standing.
Brawler #6 finally goes down, as much from the poison as from the wounds he has suffered.
Brawler #2's eyes grow wide and he regards Cass with a look of abject terror. A scream catches in his throat. On his turn, he will flee.
Ing's jaws clamp down upon the thug, dragging the man to the ground. He screams in pain as he goes down, but continues to struggle.
Brawler #2 turns to flee, only to find himself subject to attacks from Ing, Thallin, and the viper. AoO's around!

Thallin walks over to the unconscious Tengu lying on the floor. Does anyone have any healing spells they could spare for our friend here? I’m not sure if he is still alive or not, but we should at least try to revive him. After thinking for a moment, Thallin begins to riffle through Taalaako’s belongings. He probably has some way of healing himself.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
After searching Taalaako’s belongings. Thallin pulls out five scrolls, a potion, and a wand. Can anyone tell me what these do?

![]() |

Oh damn, missed the wand.
Bentuk examines the items. "I think these scrolls are the ones he wanted Cascabelle to cast to protect him from the cold. And . . ."
Spellcraft: 10 + 6 = 16
"This wand can be used for healing." But Bentuk's face takes on a note of revulsion, and he quickly drops the reddish stick.
Next, he picks up the potion. "This will heal him, as Cascabelle said." Bentuk props Taalaako into a sitting position and carefully feeds him the blue liquid.
I'll let Taalaako roll, if he does want us to use the potion and not the wand.

![]() |

The potion is fine. Once he's awake, he'll ask Cascabelle to hit him with the infernal healing wand if he still needs more.
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Taalaako slowly regains consciousness. "Well... did we win? Ms. Cascabelle, could you hit me with this wand, if you don't mind?"
Infernal healing will heal him the rest of the way to full.

![]() |

Oh, hey, we're back! :-)
Cascabelle uses the wand of infernal healing until Taalaako is tip-top again.
"We won, Taalaako. A round of drinks on me. Or this unconcious bartender, here. It takes me back, though... I haven't been to proper a bar fight in ages. Someone actually threw a chair at me. He's poisoned now, of course."
Cascabelle regards the not-Hjort. "Seems as though we were set up. Still, we have a fake Hjort in our midst, and that's bound to be useful. I say we bring him with us. If he's convincing enough, he might be able to perform all sorts of tricks for us."

![]() |

Taalaako will shake his head vigorously to clear the cobwebs after being knocked out. "That battle was difficult. And in close quarters. I much prefer when I have room to move around..."
He nods toward the bartender. "Have you gleaned any useful information from him?"

Will update soon.
Back from GenCon. Fun, but tiring and troublesome. On the way up (from Mississippi, a 12-hour trip), a tractor-trailer ran into and destroyed the back of our rental vehicle. No serious injuries (fortunately), but put us behind schedule by 3 hours while we found another rental. Ran a total of seven tables for Paizo.

![]() |

You find a total of 150 gold pieces on the thugs. Hjort's double is more than willing to provide you with directions.
The look-alike’s directions lead straight south across the market to a blank, wooden structure straddling the line between the market and a secured residential district. All seems quiet, though a small group of guards are speaking to one another quietly out front in Skald.

![]() |

Thallin begins to whisper to the rest of the group. "Maybe we should wait till the guards leave. Can anyone tell what they are saying? We could try a diversion to draw them away from the hose, if they don’t just wonder off on their own."

![]() |

(A little retro-text that should have found it's way into the above.)
"Hjort plans to dress a team of thugs (including Runa White) as Pathfinders and assault Trollheim’s armory. Hjort hopes the assault (in combination with what he thinks are village raids by Society agents) will trigger a mass purge of the Pathfinder’s Society from the Land of the Linnorm Kings, with every Society agent in the country hunted down and slain."
"Hjort and Runa are at the armory as we speak. Please don't kill me, good sirs."
"Hjort figures that should the "Pathfinders" challenge the castellan’s power by destroying his weapons, not only will the castellan look weak and likely be challenged and killed, but the Society will bear the brunt of Darkwine’s lieutenant’s rage at the assault."
The guards seem to be discussing how to go about getting into the place. As you approach, they spot you and draw weapons, but do not attack. Instead, they seem to be taking a defensive stance.

Knowledge(local): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14
"They're trying to frame the Pathfinder Society for assaulting the city's armory... they may think it would cause the Society to be univerally hated throughout the Lands of the Linnorm Kings, but that's probably not the case. But even so, having their plan succeed will make life very difficult for us..."

![]() |

Thallin approaches the guards, staying at a far enough distance to not alarm them. “Well met, My name is Thallin. I am a representative of the pathfinder society. I and my friends here believe someone is trying to cause harm to the armory and pin it on the society. We are interested in capturing these individuals and bringing them to justice. I couldn’t help over hearing you, when you were talking about entering the building. From what I can tell these two individuals sound dangerous. If you allow us to investigate and deal with the problem, we will make sure you get credit for saving the armory."

The guards consider this for a moment, then nod their agreement. "Okay, go on in."
Behind the group of guards, the front door to the armory is made of a heavy, thick wood and is bound by iron. At several points across the door, visible cracks and splintered wood can be seen. The battered door stands slightly ajar, opening inward to darkness.

Was there a rest in between these encounters? I'm really hoping that spells have been reset.
Cascabelle cranes her neck to peer into the darkness below. She hadn't been with the crew long, but it was just like the Pathfinders to go charging into darkness. Just as well-- snakes did love the dark.
"I still think we should have brought that other Hjort with us. Think of how useful he would have been."

To clarify, the goblins launched their attack before you could get fully up the stairs. They are on the ground floor. Assuming that Kyrin would attack if possible, which is the case.
Bentuk, you recognize them as goblins and a goblin dog, but little else.
Kyrin swings his battleaxe at one of the goblins, which is unconscious before it hits the ground. The goblin dog steps up almost immediately to close the gap and attacks the aasimar, but it misses the heavily armored warrior.
Goblin 3 takes a 5-foot step to close with Kyrin and swings its shortsword, but also misses.
