"Keep your eyes on a fixed point on the horizon!"

I don't know if that would actually help, but it seems similar to what ice skaters do in their spins to keep from getting nauseated.

It's interesting that I took Profession (Sailor) with my one skill point and as my gnome obsession just as backstory, one that seemed especially good for a follower of Desna, and it is actually having a use.

Once more, the bottom drops away and you are flung around the deck by the lashing waves. You feel a plunge again as the violent motion of the seas bring your stomachs into your mouths.

Every one must make a Fortitude save again. If you are not sickened, the DC is 14 and failure means that you are sickened for 1d4 rounds. If you are already sickened, the DC is 16 and failure leaves you nauseated for 1d6 rounds.

The storm batters the vessel for the better part of an hour, though the worst of it is over in a few moments. After the initial battering, you gradually become more accustomed to the crashing of the waves and the motion of the ship. Eventually, the storm subsides and moves on and the seas calm once more.

All sickness and nausea effects are removed. Everyone heals 1 point of non-lethal damage per character level.

Shortly after the storm subsides, the first officer, Marzack, and Killik, the ship's medic, appear on deck from below. "Is everyone alright?" Marzack asks. "T'was a bit of a blow, we had there!"

Norine unties herself as the storm subsides and looks for damage to the ship and to her fellows.

When Marzack and Killik arrive, Norine tenses, but hopes it doesn't show. The one I least trusted, but with someone I did not expect... Still looks bad. Why the surgeon?

She tries to get into a good place behind Ebon and Mez, ready to support. "Thank Desna (and Gorum and Cayden Cailean!) we made it through!" Norine says a little prayer and asks for Guidance, then slaps Ebon on the back with it, "Better get that salt water off of your father's blade soon, Ebon!"

Deitrich's axe slams into the mate's back; only the fact that the warrior uses the flat of the blade prevents the mate from suffering what might have been a mortal wound. Even so, the man huffs heavily as the breath is knocked from his body. Hot on the heels of the first attack, Ebon swings his axe in a wide arc, but succeeds only in narrowly missing Mez and taking a huge chunk out of the deck. Moving behind the barbarian, Norine slaps him on the back with a Desna's luck.

Her strike is fairly accurate, but there's no force behind it; it's a mere paper-cut along the man's cheek.
