Ya dammit, I always forget the surprise round.. not used to being able to act in one I guess heh. I've already got my shield on and my axe out so I'll need to drop my axe to draw the javelin. Since I only have the 1 action I'll just move up and keep the axe/shield for the surprise round and re-evaluate.

Ember's eyes widen at the sight of chains shooting towards Khellek, but he sighs in relief when the scholar slips under their dangerous ends. With a quick nod in his direction the half-orc takes a step back, smoke rising from his hands as he begins to conjure forth a magical spell.

"Thanks, Khellek. Do not hate me for this, dwarf."

Enlarge Person on Ironshanks. How high up is the catwalk? I'm hoping making Ironshanks bigger will help him reach the elf.

"If only dwarves weren't so short," Ember mutters under his breath, figuring that even while magically enlarged, Ironshanks' muscled arms would fail to reach the hanging elf. The gathering wisps of smoke fade as he dismisses the spell and grips his crossbow, slotting in a shiny bolt and taking aim.

The words however are more than just conjecture, they cut at the inner sense of being of the elf, making him wonder what he is, and why he is hanging upside down in chains in the middle of the room.

Khellek moves quickly as he talks, heading towards where he was told the fallen Minotaur lies.

Farlen moves up and splashes acid on the elf's skin, then Ironshanks' throw falls a few feet short. Hellena rushes up behind the dwarf and heals him. Ember's crossbow veers wide of the mark, then Khellek runs to the back of the room, looking for Nuar.

Abysiel's chains reach out for Farlen, followed by another pendulum to the gut of Ironshanks.

Everybody is up. Farlen needs to make a Reflex save to avoid being entangled.

Can Farlen pull out his wand of magic missiles too? I am not sure if trying to free yourself is a full round action.

@Farlen: It is Strength or Escape Artist, and a standard action. So you fail, but do have a move action to draw the wand. You are now entangled, and the bonds are "tethered by an opposing force".

Ember curses under his breath as cold links of chain wrap tightly around Farlen, seemingly gaining a mind of their own. He grips the lever of his crossbow and yanks it towards himself, releasing a second glistening bolt into the air.

Once again its sharp steel end collides with a loud clink against the dangling chains, and Ember growls and stumbles towards the wizard as his hands work to load more ammunition. Come on, you piece of junk, work with me here! "Need a hand breaking those bonds Farlen? It's not holiday season yet!"

For future reference, can you assist on breaking free from a grapple?

The elf pulls a lever, sending chains to wrap around Helena, then yanks on a chain and sends a pendulum swinging right into Ironshanks' nose.

Seems like your wand kept him alive at least, which is a relief

Ember nods firmly at Farlen's advice, even though he doesn't like the idea of leaving the wizard tied up either. He takes off with a start, setting his crossbow down somewhat gently on the way as his scorched fingers extend into blackened claws with a growl. Sliding to a stop beside Helena his hands begin to tear away at the coils of chain, attempting to wrench it apart and help her break free.

Sweet. Don't know what skill that would be, but Ember's Strength and Melee are +0 so could be substituted for those if you feel it's more appropriate.

How many turns did I miss? I believe I moved up during the surprise round, then threw 2 javelins. One turn? Or is it two now. Considering the damage I keep taking I'll use the first extra turn to draw and drink my CLW potion, and the next to give my CLW wand to Hellena before I head to grab my axe and try to get up on those catwalks.

Thought I'd posted earlier but it didn't go through, awkward. Somehow still cached it. Ember's spells wont help much here compared to yours Farlen. If you want me to edit my post though, lemme know and I will.

"All yours, Dwarf!" Ember calls out as the chains come for him, slinking around his arms like ravenous vipers. With a roar he extends a leg and kicks his crossbow, sending it skimming a few feet across the floor to land at Ironshanks' feet. One of his claws leaves the metallic links around Hellena's body to violently tear the quiver of bolts from his belt, sending a few shiny pieces tumbling onto the stony ground, but most remain. @Ironshanks: Ember handed you the bolts, now you just need a move action to pick up the crossbow. I don't feel like checking the thread for the answer, so we'll assume it's currently loaded.

Farlen utterly fails to break the chains, and is pretty sure it's not even possible for him to do so. Ironshanks lobs another javelin off track. Ember hands his quiver of bolts to Ironshanks, then feebly claws at Hellena's chains. Khellek fires an errant bolt at Abysiel, then Hellena blesses Ironshanks for a moment.

The elf pulls a lever, sending chains toward Khellek, and then pulls on a chain, but the pendulum missing Ironshanks by several feet..

Everybody except Hellena is up. Khellek needs to make a Reflex save against entanglement.

Ironshanks stoops over and snatches up the crossbow from the stone floor and quickly aims and fires at the Elf, hoping for some good luck on the shot.

@Khellek: The chains wrapping up Nuar are the same as those entangling everybody else. Basically, the entire room is full of chains, pendulums and panels, and Abysiel's consciousness runs through all of them.

@Ironshanks: You don't reroll the damage, just the d20s.
