You arrive in Diobel via the overland route from Absalom
to meet a contact in a pub known as “The Tails”; a dingy,
brine-soaked shack covered with swordfish tails located in a
rundown section of town called South Reach. There, bitter
longshoreman coming off the graveyard shifts pile in and slam
rounds of a potent shark-fin liquor, cursing and complaining
until they’re drunk enough to be carted home by noon. The
disparaged scene has few prying eyes—the ideal place for
Pathfinders to pass along their covert whispers. You enter early
in the day, when the small crowd of older men is at its most
drunk and rowdy, the revelry within barely contained by the
boarded-up windows. You stand out like sore thumbs among
the ruddy-faced dockworkers, most of whom have more ginblossoms
than teeth. The crowd immediately heckles you for
being up-scalers and gold-thumbers, demanding you spend
some of your coin to buy the bar a round, but quickly fall silent
when moments later, a dark, cloaked figure rises from the back
of the bar. Then, eyes averted, everyone returns to their former
conversations. Drawing back his cloak, your contact reveals
himself—a man his late forties with obvious Chelaxian features
and a faint beard. He introduces himself only as Osprey, then
invites you to sit before he finally tells you why the Society
dragged you to Diobel:
“We’ve word that the accursed Chelaxian pirate Darsielle
Du Moire’s has anchored his much sought ship, the Hydra’s
Fang, in the harbor. Everyone’s looking for that bastard. He carries with him some ancient tablets of extreme historical
value to our organization. Unknown to most, Wittlestone, the
small Andoren town Du Moire razed to the ground, was also
home to Myraxus Threeshadows, a noted but aging sage and
umber mystic supposedly of ancient Azlanti decent. Among
Myraxus’s possessions he kept ancient forgeries of several
tablets used in ancient rites during Old Azlant’s height. When
Darsielle destroyed the village, he slew the wizard and took the
tablets, hoping to pawn them to one of his buyers in Diobel.
The tablets are a priceless archeological treasure, one greatly
desired by the Pathfinder Society. In fact, just prior to the
Azlanti’s death, we placed several bids to purchase the tablets
and so naturally were the first to realize they’d gone missing.
You must race to get Du Moire and recover the stolen tablets
before his pursuers find him or he flees port.
“If our sources are correct, we’ve learned that he owes a
substantial amount of money to one of the Consortium’s more
ambitious Enforcers, an importer named Lubor Staizkal. Likely
he needs to settle with him at some point. Go to Lubor’s shop
on Meldon Lane, near the docks, and see if you can pick up Du
Moire’s trail from there, then do whatever you can to get those
tablets. May the Gods speed you in this task.”

![]() |

Sek sits quietly eyes darting around the room looking for prying eye. Quietly he says, "Next time let's meet somewhere at bit more private, I don't like it here. I have a few questions. Can we get a description of you man? Are the tablets dangerous? Does he have any other haunts?"
A brief pause, "you say he slew a wizard? Do you know anything about his fighting style?"

Beat It Flat |

Osprey replies, "He is really a pirate and other than Diobel where he pawn a lot of his loot, he mostly keeps moving around. He has raiding coastal towns and ships alike. The tablet are not dangerous to handle. He mostly fights with a long sword." Osprey also gives you a description as well.

![]() |

Ratesh pushes up to the table, addressing Osprey quietly, ”Can you tell us anything of this Lubor character? If he makes it a habit of importing pirated goods he may not take kindly to a group of Pathfinders snooping around.”

![]() |

The half-orc clad in full plate mail has done a terrible job of concealing his armor beneath his cloak. On second thought, you realize he wasn't bothering to conceal the armor at all. The armor has a green tint to it which seem to mirror the color of his skin. He speaks with a deep bass tone, "The Consortium is involved? Why does that not surprise me? Those dogs seem to have a hand in everything nefarious taking place along the Inner Sea."

Beat It Flat |

We are in Diobel, where even the most respectable of people are easily corrupted. I suspect the Lubor probably has some side deals going on, but as far as we officially know he is the customs inspector and has been for some time. He still has a job to do, so seeing Pathfinders wouldn't be unheard of.
As for the cosortium, Diobel is just the kind of place we would expect to see them.

![]() |

"If we do encounter aggression from the Consortium, what level of response is allowable here? Not that I'm planning on anything of course"

Beat It Flat |

"Use your best judgement. We need to find him first and recover those tablets, but lets try to not start any wars."

![]() |

Freire stands up. "I am ready to go. I shall refrain from killing anyone outright unless they deserve it. Not all Consortium members deserve death, just a few. A thorough thrashing is of course another story." He smiles wolfishly at the prospect of knocking Consortium agents around.

![]() |

Rates stands up, Well, I guess it’s time to talk to this customs officer

![]() |

"My dear colleagues, I still have a couple of questions! Do we receive any funding from the society to bribe Lubor? I would rather be diplomatic." Andor says with a smile on his face.
You see a human around twenty years old in light leather armor, rapier and loose clothing.
"I have to admit that I just joined the PFS. So what is this grudge regarding the consortium about?"
Andor tries to remember details from his teachings that could be relevant given the information he received.
Kn(History): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
Kn(Lccal): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26
Kn(Nobility): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21

Beat It Flat |

The Kortos Consortium is a semi covert crime syndicate specializing in running contraband in and out of Absalom.
Osprey has nothing more to add and hurries you on your way, reminding you that we need to find him first.

![]() |

"Let's get going then. I'm happy to let some else do the talking if that how were doing it."
As sek leaves he pulls a scarf up over his face, and grows six inches. His black hair now replaced with amber eagles feathers. "Errr," he groans as the transformation completes.

![]() |

"I will be able to do some talking but please do not start a fight unless it can be prevented!"

![]() |

"The Aspis Consortium is a teeming swarm of scum and villianry that should be eradicated from Golarion. While they are not behind most of the evil in the region, their fingers are usually involved in some nefarious or another. Still, foiling their plans and laughing in their faces is truly a wonderful feeling. It usually provokes a good bar fight if nothing else.
As much as I would like to choke the information out of this Aspis serpent, I feel that it would be wise to employ some diplomacy before turning to more intimidating methods. I obviously am not well-suited to diplomatic endeavors. Who here is?"

![]() |

"You understood my joke, right?!" Andor says again slowly: "... unless it can be prevented!" and starts laughing about his own supposed funny remark.

![]() |

Freire stares at Andor as if humor was a concept unknown to Freire.

Beat It Flat |

On your contact’s advice, you arrive at the shop of one of Du
Moire’s supposed connections. A sign over the door reads
“Lubor’s Imports.” The door hangs slightly ajar. All is dark within,
and eerily silent. As you peer inside, you witness the scene of a
recent brawl. Furniture lies smashed and strewn about. Near a
closed door at the back of the shop, two bodies slump upon the
floor, their blood pooling slowly beneath them.

![]() |

"Andor can I draw my bow or is it impolite?" Sek says with a wink as he draws his bow.
His eyes are different now, the whites have disappeared they are now bird eyes, just iris and pupil.
"Who wants to go first?"

![]() |

Ratesh steps up beside Andor, reaches inside the door and casts Light on a spot against the interior wall.
He peers through the door without opening it any farther than was needed to get his hand through and peers in.
Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 1
And is momentarily blinded by the brilliant light of his spell...

![]() |

Ok, in that case I just cast light on the face of the closed inner door and looked around the room we were in. Not that I saw anything anyhow.

![]() |

Freire draws his greatsword and moves forward to the door. "As I am the most heavily armored, I shall take the lead and enter the room so that any surprise attacks may befall me instead of you lesser armored Pathfinders."
He moves through the door into the room and then steps to the left and ahead five feet so others may enter.

![]() |

"I like to be able to get a clear shot. I will go second if there are no objections."
Sek pauses briefly.
Perception: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (11) + 15 = 26
"Also, I tend to notice things."
Sek checks if the victims are breathing.
Heal: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11

![]() |

Ratesh draws his longsword and enters behind him, scanning the room.
Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 13

Beat It Flat |

The closed door does not appear locked, but does not open freely when tried. It most be secured on the other side.

Beat It Flat |

Go to Map.
Are you able to see the map and move your character?
The 2 bodies in the front room are indeed dead.

![]() |

Andor searches the bodies and when he notices that he seems to stand in front of the door, he minds his colleagues remarks and opens the door so that Freire and Sek can walk through.

![]() |

"Hmmm ... seems to be closed."
Andor checks if the door seems to be locked or barricaded. perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
"If someone knows how to pick a lock - now is the time to come forward. Of course we can also just run through the door." He says with a slight grin and looks toward Freire.

Beat It Flat |

Present room not really any thing of interest. The room and the bodies look like they have already been looted.
The door to the other room is not locked, but seems to be bolted shut.

![]() |

Does a 25 perception hear commotion in the next room?
If so sek says to the group "breach the door."
Fixed the link. Map

![]() |

"Guys, the door is bolted shut. Let us put your strength to some use."
Andor steps aside.
Andor is actually quite the weakling

![]() |

Hi guys, I will not be able to post again today. if a batlle should start this is my action:
Andor moves to the next target and draws his Rapier trying to get into a flanking position if possible and attacks.
Rapier attack roll (+4 dex, +1 BAB, +1 Weapon Focus): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25
Damage roll (+4 dex from Fencing Grace Feat): 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
If Andor is attacked he would try to parry the attack with "Opportune Parry":
Rapier parry: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13

![]() |

Ohh ... a crit with the Rapier. If I confirm the damage above would be 14 instead of 7:
Crit Confirm: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26
If you continue to further rounds and I am not here please just repeat the above actions. Thanks!

![]() |

Freire moves to the door and tries to smash it open using his strength.
Hope you want a Strength check.
Strength: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19

Beat It Flat |

Freire smashes the door open.
A teenage girl hovers over the corpse of a middle-aged
merchant. Her silent eyes filled with tears, she mouths the
word “daddy.”

![]() |

Sek scans the room for the source of the scraping and banging or anything else amiss. Bow drawn arrow nocked.
"Young Lady are you alone? What happened?"
Perception: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (8) + 15 = 23
Sek studies the young women so he can better sense her potential duress.
Sek gains a +1 bonus on Bluff, Knowledge, Perception, Sense Motive, and Survival checks attempted against the studied opponent
