Very eclectic group we've got here. Should be fun.
Depending on what they do after 'recruiting' Kiana, we may have to slap a 'Warning - R Rated' warning on the thread, because she'll make their deaths long, hard, and gory.
Kiana and Malyoxa are two of a feather, so to speak :P
Kiana is of the opinion there are two types of humans.
1) Those who are lying murdering scum.
2) Those who are good at hiding that they are lying murdering scum.
And thus the only good human is dead.
is there a check i can make for Kiana's little challenge?
That would be up to the GM, it's part of her back story. She's hunting down the people who slaughtered and scattered her clan.

Sorry, just making sure. :) And please know that all of Kiana's bile and hostility is IC only, not OOC. :) She's not such a bad sort once you've convinced her your being human is just a cosmic joke on you, and not a true measure of your worth. :)
:D no problem. i totally understand. hopefully, we'll get a chance to address this backstory hook (btw i had a feeling that that was why you were asking) before the poisoning draws us (or at least me) in. i do get to make knowledge (local) checks about pirates untrained.

@Tiah - either of those checks would be fine.
For future reference, if you're inclined to make a check for something, go ahead and make the check (speculatively) letting me know what you're trying to get done. I'll let you know whether or not it's 1) the right kinda check, and 2) successful. Definitely the kind of thing that we can push forward with, without needing several back-and-forths.

No problem, I figured it would end up happening like that. Anyway, since it's part of the setup, I have no issues with it. :) Once the game is started good and proper, however, I expect to get perception checks and such. :)
As to the tub of lard, good, should get him to keep his hands to himself, unless he wants to sing soprano going forward. :) He's lucky she was still in 'do not kill humans when surrounded by humans' mode, or that would have been lethal damage. :)

yeah, i'm glad i only made one post during the outage and that i still had it saved to my phone's clipboard this morning so i didn't lose too much.

Kiana watches the orc get a greatclub, then flies up 100 ft, and begins to rain arrows down on the Orc from above...

Kiana looks at Malyoxa, then at Brek, and turns on Malyoxa instead of firing the arrows at Brek. The first one hits the drow in the center of the forehead.
Malyoxa grabs the hose and turns it on Kiana. "Ya durn kids!"
"You're going to have to go get the fire department to open up a hydrant if you want to hit me with water up here." She laughs from on high.
"Hey, hey, hey! Who said you could grab me like that?" Malyoxa cries as she flies in the air towards the strix with her claws outstretched.
Kiana watches Malyoxa fly past her, scraping her foam claws on Kiana's abdomen. Soon thereafter, Kiana flies up after the drow as she slowly begins to reach the top of her arc, about 300 ft up. "So, when did you learn to fly?" She asks Malyoxa just as the drow hit's the top of her arc. For a few seconds the drow floats through the air, and then she drops like a stone. "Oh, you should really fit that in next time, before you let him throw you up in the air like that!" She calls out to the falling drow. Kiana winces as a mushroom cloud rises up under her from the drow impacting with the ground. "You have insurance right?!"
Yuki makes popcorn as she watches the festivities.
Kiana warns the GM that if he's not back soon, sillyness may infect the gameplay thread. :)
Kiana yelps, and goes into a buzzing dive. It's a very close thing, but she manages to catch Yuki...
...'s popcorn. As Yuki goes sailing on up and past her, the Strix comes out of her dive mere inches over Brek's head, dumping half the popcorn on him as she zooms up toward the sky. "I hope you liked extra butter..." She says, as the buttery popcorn oozes down his face.
Off in the distance, another mushroom cloud puffs out of the ground, near the first one.
Kiana hovers about 100 ft up, munching on buttery popcorn.
so... apparently crane wing got nerfed heavily... which is sad because i was going to use it to get a much better parry/riposte combo. i kind of need to rethink a good bit of my build; i might not need the threatening defender trait anymore.
it's funny and telling that i was going to use the crane style chain as a swashbuckler (and i have a feeling that people comparing the swash's action heavy parry/riposte ability to crane style prompted the nerf)... but it was also a way to get the most out of fighting defensively. i might still use it, but the riposte is currently non-functional.
yeah, GM is it alright if i replace the dodge feat and threatening defender trait? crane style is no longer worth investing in.
