Keera Airbornt |
I have rechecked faerie fire, and it maves the creature to not benefit of invisibility and blur (among other things), so no miss chance for now on, ok? ;D
Keera will fly just over the creature, to be sure he can run away withot her attacking it and Alacorta follows her to continue stubbornly attacking it. lacorta provokes an AoO as he moves to an open spot from where he can attack
Keera melee touch attack, higher ground: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 4 + 1 = 211d6 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
Alacorta´s bite, bull's strenght, higher ground: 1d20 + 5 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 5 + 2 + 1 = 251d6 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 + 2 = 9
Produce flame; 2 minutes and 8 rounds remaining
GM Chyro |
Ok, good to know in the future.
AoO: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 251d4 - 1 ⇒ (2) - 1 = 1
(Poke)
Between the two's attacks, Cymflemdir takes another 6 ouch, going down after Alacorta's abuse.
"NOOOoooo...."
==> Combat over!! <==
Kenji Nishida |
Kenji breathes a sigh of relief... "They were particularly nasty little things." He begins to search one of the bodies, letting someone else search the other.
doesn't matter which one, as we will be searching and stripping valuables from both in the long run
Sele the Thorn |
Sele will keep an eye out and examine the area for clues while the searching the bodies happens.
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 25
GM Chyro |
You find a dagger and a rapier on both quicklings, and halbers on the spriggans.
Cymflemdir carries a peculiar stone.
[Party has obtained item: Lorestone!]
(Insert victory tune)
Kenji Nishida |
"I could put it in my wayfinder... it should remain safely out of the sunlight in there." He pulls out his wayfinder and pops it open, not activating the light feature.
GM Chyro |
Wth the menace of Cymflymder i had been spelling wrong all the time.. over, you make your way back.
After an uneventful trek, you arrive back at the lodge, where the VC looks up from paperwork.
"Ah, you're back. Good news i presume?"
When you show him the stone, he nods in appreciation.
"Did the druid cause you too much of a problem?"
Basically, you've completed the mission, only RP closure opportunity here.
Primary victory condition:
Deliver the lorestone intact. [V]
Secondary victory condition: Prevent the fire from spreading into the woods, and resolve the conflict with the gnomes peacefully. [V]
Great job guys. :)
Keera Airbornt |
The death druid was not a problem not so much. Tha mad fey who wanted to destroy the lorestone was a bit more difficult. Or maybe I should say more atletic, as my companions where running to catch him a long time.
And don't ask them about swimming, that part of the trip wasn't the best one to remember.
But I enjoyed a trip to the wilderness, when is the next?
GM Chyro |
I'll get to the chronicles this weekend.
Somewhere next week, Tuesday or Wednesday maybe?
That should give plenty of time to sort things.
Sele the Thorn |
somewhat guiltily
"Yes swimming ..but the mad fey Flimflamder seemed to be the real problem and the druid not so much.. druids and bridges.. bah!"
Kenji Nishida |
"The swimming part wasn't so bad... chasing those quick little fey was a pain in the ass."
GM Chyro |
Welcome to Our Lady of Silver
A brisk breeze carries the scent of the sea up to the Pathfinder Society’s lodge in Katheer, the capital of Qadira.
The lodge’s shaded balcony gives a panoramic view of Katheer’s harbor, revealing hundreds of ships moored in the busy port, lateenrigged merchant dhows and the bright-sailed warships that protect Qadira’s shipping.
"Thank you for getting here so soon," the nasal voice of Venture-Captain Osretia Cassomiran calls from within. She is a tall, gray-haired woman of Azlanti lineage, and she rifles through papers as she speaks from inside her office.
"Have you met the groom, Farendir Faireven? He’s quite bright,
especially for someone from the River Kingdoms."
Venture-Captain Cassomiran’s quest continues fruitlessly as she searches a sagging bookshelf. "The bride’s quite a catch, too; called the Lady of Silver for her father’s wealth. It’s certainly a coup for young Faireven."
Clambering beneath her desk, Osretia’s voice is muffled by stacked texts. "Anyway, during the wedding feast, the girl’s father, Master Bashir Al-Mudaris, plans to donate several valuable relics to the Pathfinder Society.
Clearly, Master Bashir wants to promote his new son-in-law’s status in the Society. That’s where you come in: we need you to escort these antiques to Absalom."
Suddenly, the Venture-Captain’s shouts, "By Irori! I found them!"
She places several elegantly scripted invitations on the disheveled desk. "You do have something decent to wear for the wedding, do you not? You’re going to represent the Society, and we certainly can’t afford any embarrassments."
Keera Airbornt |
Keera looks her explorer outfit and Darkleaf armor, then she looks at Alacorta.
I don't think any of these fits in a wedding. But better talk later with my companions than tell him I'm wearing my best clothes.
I think I'll find something appropiate to wear.
But are we going to attend the wedding? To escort antiquities we don't need to attend a wedding, do we?
GM Chyro |
She looks at you with a frown.
"Weddings require proper attire, you can't show up in plain leather armor, as if you're strolling the market. Especially when you're to represent our organization."
Wizard of the Coast |
A stranger enters the venture-captain's office, slipping in and closing the door behind him. "Sorry I'm late... I got caught up in the library, and lost track of time. Deepest apologies... Kenji told me you might be in need of another member while he's off on a different mission, so here I am. So, we're going to a wedding, eh? I'm gonna need some new clothes, I guess. Oh by the way, I'm Celedrian, but you can call me Kel, everyone does."
GM Chyro |
I had another Wizard who left the other team a while ago.
Same portrait :)
Sele the Thorn |
"I think I have the proper attire a good outfit I had commissioned for a previous social event."
50gp worth of outfit I have written down as Spiff Outfit
"Welcome Celedrian... Kel"
Spenser Quixote |
With his aristocratic finery (complete with jewelry) beneath gleaming full plate armor and fanciful coat of arms looming above his shoulders, Spenser already looked like he may even be overdressed for the occasion.
"A, a marriage! The happy ending to many a Story!" You are unable to figure out how he manages to audibly capitalize the word "story" as he speaks. "But oft beset by danger, intrigue, and malice! Fear not, Milady, thine relics shall hence rest in the finest of carpals."
GM Chyro |
The VC clarifies her comment on Keera's question.
"The relics are at the wedding, that's why you need to get proper attire."
When you are all prepared, the VC motions you to leave.
"Good luck, and do try to maintain a professional impression."
And so begins your journey to the wedding.
===================
Hundreds of guests crowded the temple of Sarenrae this morning while prosperous merchants and courtiers strutted in silken finery and scholars and clergy nodded gravely, clad in sober robes.
Scores of servants and grooms waited outside as the High Priest of Sarenrae intoned the couple’s vows. Afterward, the newlyweds led their guests to the splendidly decorated courtyard of Master Bashir’s estate for the wedding feast.
Young men whirled through an ancient sword-dance to the frenzied pounding of doumbeks, their blades clashing louder as the song’s tempo increased. Servant girls brought forth a dazzling array of dishes and iced sekanjabin drinks, as daring snake charmers mesmerized a dozen lethal asps.
After the feast, challenges rang out across the courtyard. Warriors swaggered forth, clad only in loincloths and swinging cudgels, to battle atop a bed of red-hot coals.
Here you can participate in a friendly competition, if you'd like to show your skills, or you could mingle with the guests.
Wizard of the Coast |
Kel, prior to the wedding, buys himself a pair of 'sleeves of many garments' so he can be appropriately dressed for anything. While he lacks fancy accoutrements like expensive jewelry and such, he wouldn't have purchased those even if he'd bought one set of clothes.
He comes to the party dressed all in light grey leggings and shirt with black accents (piping, buttons, and the like all in black).
He watches the entertainment and competitions with curiosity and interest, but no thought to entering any kind of contest of strength or skill at arms. However, if there's a trivia contest, he'll join with no hesitation.
Sele the Thorn |
Sele looks at the competition but he is not tempted at this time, he has a duty here.
He mingles, he indulges those with questions about his appearance and stops to laugh at the snake charmers
Spenser Quixote |
I'll participate in the competition - are there rolls to make?
GM Chyro |
There actually -is- a snake charmer present.
Spenser wants to try his hand at the competition, much to the encouragement of the cheerful crowd.
A man explains to him the rules.
"Aha, a guest who wishes to participate, excellent.
You will be given a club, and will fight without your armor."
You'll be fighting in your own underwear, nothing more.
"You will have to resists the coals' heat and hit your opponent to put him out of the competition."
Each round, you (and the opponent) must make a DC 12 fort roll or you become sickened from the heat and smoke. 2 fails in a row = elimination.
If either participant is hit = eliminated from the competition.
"Are you ready for it?"
Spenser Quixote |
"Always paratus for jolly good sport, I am!"
He looks down at his gleaming plate.
"Ich shalt need a moment, s'il vous plait."
A few minutes later, he strides onto the coals.
Fortitude save: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
attack roll: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23
GM Chyro |
Init. 1 Spenser, 2 Warrior: 1d2 ⇒ 1
Spenser eliminates his first opponent, with a quick strike.
"The guest wins this round!"
(Clapping)
----------
Round 2
Init. 1 Spenser, 2 Warrior: 1d2 ⇒ 2
Fort: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Club: 1d20 + 5 - 2 ⇒ (15) + 5 - 2 = 18
The warrior inhales a bit too much smoke, and becomes sickened.
Despite being sickened, his strike was nothing to sneeze at, and Spenser is hit.
Referee: "The guest has lost this round."
(Cheering for the warrior, but still some applause for the daring guest.)
"Your first round was a clear victory, maybe we can give you a lesson or two in this sometime, hmm?"
GM Chyro |
Do Keera or Vassago want to join the competition, or anything in particular on the festivities?
Sele the Thorn |
Sele as he mingles and chats will steer conversations to types that might be up to no good
Diplomacy Gather Information: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (5) + 11 = 16
GM Chyro |
Sele speaks to several people.
No information about suspicious individuals comes to topic, but they are excited about the wedding, and the mention of the gift of the relics' donation is slightly surprising to the people.
Still, they think little of it, and compliment Sele's physique and outfit."[/b]
Keera Airbornt |
Keera will follow the wizard example and buy a Sleeves of Many Garments before attending the wedding.
I'll take the spot my friend has left says Keera after seeing how his Spenser has been eliminated. As she pass near him she whispers, go to mingle with Sele, your much more suited than I.
Fort: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
Club: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
And she swing the club as if it was the very first time she even tries to attack anyone.
GM Chyro |
Turn 1:
Init, 1 Keera 2 Warrior: 1d2 ⇒ 1
Keera holds her breath, long enough to avoid the initial fume of smoke entering her nose.
She swings her club, which comes close, but not quite yet.
Fort warrior: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
Like his fellow warrior, he inhales too much smoke, and feels bad due to it.
Club, sickened: 1d20 + 5 - 2 ⇒ (12) + 5 - 2 = 15
But, like his fellow warrior, he also manages to hit the guest challenger.
"Too bad, young lady. Still, we commend guest participants.
Here, have a fresh date.", he holds up a small bowl with juicy looking dates.
Spenser Quixote |
Once back in his fine clothes, Spenser starts socializing.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 16
GM Chyro |
The people respond to Spenser similarly like to Sele, with the exception that he gets an occasional tap on the shoulder, for his brief but brave performance.
GM Chyro |
Vassago: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11

Location Sele, diplomacy: 1d12 ⇒ 4
Location Spenser, diplomacy: 1d11 ⇒ 9
Location Vassago, strolling festivities: 1d10 ⇒ 9
Location WoC, strolling festivities: 1d9 ⇒ 9
While Keera was fighting, the people respond to Spenser similarly like to Sele, with the exception that he gets an occasional tap on the shoulder, for his brief but brave performance.
Meanwhile, Vassago and WotC were strolling the grounds, seeing many wondrous exotic animals in cages, said to be presents for the pair and the bride's father.
WotC notices one guard near a cage with lions sweating a lot, and looking left and right rather quickly, more than some guards he'd seen.
Speak to him, 1 no 2 yes: 1d2 ⇒ 2
Moving to the man, he greets him.
"Greetings, good man, a joyous day, isn't it?
Pardon me for saying, but are you feeling alright? You seem to be sweating alot."
The guard looks back, sweat drops on his temples.
"W-worry not, everything is fine, Sarenrae watches over us.", he points his hand high in the air, clenching his fist twice in haste, about the same time the coal fight competition ends.
What ensues..is utter chaos. A terrifying roar echoes across the courtyard as enraged lions rush forth from an opened wagon. Cries of distress and alarm arise from every corner of the wedding reception as terrified guests flee before the onslaught of the lions.
A few guards head for the lion cages, desperately trying to distract them from the masses. Meanwhile the nervous guard and another near the gate bolt away....
============================
Here we go...didn't Vassago say something about weddings being quiet? :)
Keera: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18
Sele: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
Spencer: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

Panicked Elephant: 1d20 ⇒ 19
Guards: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20
Others: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21
On the first round, the map is considered difficult terrain, due to the panicking people running about.
Rampant animals, round 1
The three escaped lions each have a tasty, desperate looking, guard to feast on.
Blue bite: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 161d8 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
Grab?: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (17) + 13 = 30

Claw: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 251d4 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
Claw: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 221d4 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
Red bite: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 151d8 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
Grab?: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (15) + 13 = 28

Claw: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 161d4 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
Both blue and green savagely maul their targets to an inch of falling down, while the third is taken down, death-scream erupting, with a vicious bite and a claw.
-------------
4 Caravan guards get startled.
"By the dawnflower! This is chaos, we must secure the relics before the elephant stampedes on them!"
Bluff: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Nuh-uh, these guys are fishy.
---------------
Wedding guards.
Blue scimitar: 1d20 + 3 - 2 ⇒ (1) + 3 - 2 = 21d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Green scimitar: 1d20 + 3 - 2 ⇒ (20) + 3 - 2 = 211d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Crit?: 1d20 + 3 - 2 ⇒ (20) + 3 - 2 = 211d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Blue utterly fails in his panic, but green manages a hit on his lion.

Direction: 1d8 ⇒ 3
The large panicked elephant waltzes through the crow, trampling people from the crowd as it goes.

Keera
Vassago & WotC
Sele & Spenser
Spenser Quixote |
Do I have my armor on?
GM Chyro |
By now you do.
Note: Keera does not have her armor on yet.
Keera Airbornt |
Sense motive: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
K. nature elephant: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (20) + 11 = 31 I'll assume with this roll I'll know calm animal will not work on an elephant and I would like to know what one can do to calm it.
K. nature lions: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (8) + 11 = 19
Guys, I don't mind at all if you decide to attack those animals. I can`t calm so many.
But one of you should stop the caravan guards, they're after the relics. Then she picks some mistletoe from her belongings and cast barkskin on Alacorta. May I pick my backpack as I pick my divine focus? I want to have some scrolls and alchemicals as I fly away the next turn.
Alacorta, stop that lion. she demands on her animal companion, trying to gain some time so Sele or Spenser could reach the animals
Alacorta´s bite: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 211d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Alacorta now have 26 AC
Wizard of the Coast |
Kel casts mage armor on himself and races after the guards, not having any skills or spells to calm wild animals...
GM Chyro |
Keera, your items are on the ground next to your square.
You can either pick up your pack, or if you're searching for mistletoe specifically, a move action for that.
There is nothing special about these animals.
The lions seem a desert breed and, like any common lion, are predators.
They seem particularly hungry.....
The elephant is nothing special, but it's absolutely panicked into a frenzy. It broke free from its handler, suggesting it might listen to a trained animal handler, but the DC is 25.
Keera sees through the tone of the guard's bluff, as they move towards the stand with the relics.
Kel moves 15 feet north. Difficult terrain.
==> Vassago
Sele & Spenser
The darker part of the map means that area is covered under market stalls 'roofs'.
Spenser Quixote |
You didn't put Lot on the map, but can we say he was close by, somewhere in this plaza? Spenser would prefer it that way even when not expecting combat....
Vassago Ilsidore |
SM: 1d20 ⇒ 9
"Protect the relics! Those caravan guards are shifty!", Vassago tells Spenser, before sending a blast of water at the Green lion!
Blast @ Green: 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 8 + 1 = 17
Damage on hit: 3d6 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (5, 1, 3) + 8 + 1 = 18
Sele the Thorn |
Sele double moves towards the lions drawing his greatsword as he moves
GM Chyro |
To Spenser, the plaza is occupied by many pedestrians, and i imagine any animals not tied to the festival are not on the plaza.
I've parked set Lot waiting in the street just around the corner.
Do you usually tie Lot's dental bracers to something, when leaving him somewhere? Since thieves...?
Vassago is starting the team's animal abuse, but with the crowd currently rushing in all directions to escape the lions and the elephants, his shot is tampered, and misses its target.
Crowds provide actual cover this round.
Spenser
Spenser Quixote |
"Hither yon, Lot! Tumult calls us!"
Sir Spenser's faithful steed barges his way through the crowd, just managing to reach him.
Difficult terrain in every square forced him to double-move just to get to me, so I guess that's all we can do this round.
Keera Airbornt |
The I'll pick only my spell component pouch (where the mistletoe and rest of spell components are). Also, did Alacorta hit?
GM Chyro |
As the team shifts into action, and the shady caravan guards are making their way towards and at the relics, the crowd has departed most of the plaza.
==================
Animals rampant, round 2
Blue lion rakes at the guard.
Rake: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 231d4 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6, and the man's chest is lashed open, and he goes down.
With more prey within its gaze, it has to choose its next target.

Green does the same to his own chewy toy.
Rake: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 241d4 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
The guard goes down bleeding heavily, and the lion shifts its attention towards Vassago.

Shady Caravan Guards
Blue and green grab two big items quickly, and move away.
Red: "Move, move! I've got your back, i'll be right over."
Red moves towards the relics left on the stand.
