"Well, with lazy bums like we just saw it's no wonder the door is unlocked. Either that or they have the sign up to see who really pays attention to the door."

"Time to see what is in there." Amara begins to open the door, and then looks inside.


A long hallway, about ten feet wide, is lit by hanging lanterns. Pipes and thick wires run along the wall. About another fifty feet in, the hall ends in a steep staircase and you can hear the echo of a conversation from below.

Dropping to all fours, Amara sneaks in to get as close as she can.

Ears to hear: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16


Perceivin' Sneaks: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15

DC 10 Perception:

"...the money's good, but I hate bein' down here," a voice grumbles.

"Yeah yeah, but the boss says we need to 'branch out' an' 'make new connections'," a second voice says.

"What's this guy gonna do for us?" a third asks.

"Summat, I guess," the second answers.

You hear a loud tsk from below. "Guess we'll keep an eye out for guests, though who's really stupid enough to come down here."

"It takes all kinds, Charlie..."

Footsteps echo as whmoever's down there resumes their patrols.

If Amara can see Rosa, she motions for her to have her gun ready and to stay alert. Basically holding her arms in a position that indicates holding a gun, and then pointing two fingers at her eyes and making a sweeping motion with her hand to represent looking around."

Alton stands up straight coughs lightly and walks down the stairs looking for the two guards on patrol. Upon spotting them Alton yells "Hey yous guys, you wouldn't happen to know where Charlie be woulds ya?"

Alton walks straight into the three dwarves waiting downstairs, who pull out their daggers. "And who're you?"

Upon hearing Alton yelling, Rosa takes the moment of distraction to get a little closer.

Amara moves quickly down the stairs to where the dwarves and Alton are.

Leveling her gun at the dwarf approaching Alton she says, "This is Bessie, bessie and I hardly ever miss a shot. It might be a good idea for ya'll to kick rocks now."

As Rosa blows the front dwarf away, Amara steps in front of Alton defensively.

One of the dwarves glances at the other and quickly retreats further into the steampump station. "Hold 'em off, I'll send help!"

The wounded dwarf takes a swing at Amara with his dagger.

Don't forget about alchemical cartridges. They reduce your reload speed as well.

Nye sees the third dwarf run off, with Eisen in pursuit. He thinks better of also giving chase, feeling vulnerable and scared. So preferring the rather more currently risky opportunity to fell the dwarf closer, he lets fly with another javelin...
