LOL! Oh my gosh! I'm so rolling over here! This combat is so freaking funny! IT'S A FIRST LEVEL SPELL!!! All I can think of is Keystone Kops. Or possibly Three Stooges.

This is one of the best battles I've ever been in simply due to the oddness of it all.

Fellow DnD'er: "Man we fought Lucrecia and we had her surrounded and still managed to just survive. Hard fought, quite bloody, but we survived. When y'all fought her how did it go with you? Pretty dark encounter if you ask me."

Javell: "Dark? Welllll, I'm not so sure about that. You see, I stepped in a grease spell and fell down. Our half-orc got mind controlled by her and she stepped in the grease spell and fell down. And our cleric who was gonna help free the half-orc that was mind controlled he slipped in the grease and fell down. So, there's a dwarf, a half-orc and a human all piled in grease...," he stops, pondering that a moment with a raised eyebrow. "You know, there's gotta be a joke in there somewhere. Anyway, my dwarf dove for her ankles - grabbing them successfully while sitting on his backside mind you - to keep her from going anywhere while the cleric managed to free her from mind control. Oh yeah, we play some mean team ball, bay-bee. Especially from our hineys," he says with a grin and winking before realizing he never really answered the question. "Oh and Lucrecia, yes, well, um... I don't really know I was in a grease dog pile. If I recall correctly, she was laughing so hard her defenses were down so our resident elf just put like a thousand arrows in her. Probably just a couple of rounds or so for him. I spent pretty much the entire battle in grease trying to keep our resident half-orc from joining the dark side. She kept pounding my dwarf in the face but I just kept having him say, 'It only hurts when she hits me. It only hurts when she hits me.' So I guess ours wasn't so bloody as much as it was... greasy," he says, shrugging.

Oh man, this battle makes me laugh so much. So dang funny. I have to echo Old Guy: Definitely the best grease ever. I have ALWAYS thought grease was a worthless spell right up there with color spray. I have learned that I am way wrong on both counts.

What makes it extra special: Rhianni cast the Grease to hep defend against the ogres...

My apologies if the way this has been set up has seemed to slow it way down. The battle feels rather epic, but is slow in pbp.

Male Bat Familiar 5

I'm fine. ^^ Keep on truckin'!

Male Human Rogue 7/Fighter 4; HP: 93/104; AC:24/T18/FF24; Fort+9 Ref+10 Will+5; Per +15; Init +3

Its all good, OGGM. Despite the hilarity, it does feel big and urgent. ;-)

Also - for some reason - my last roll post shows up in my character list but not in the actual gameplay thread. I will try again and see what happens. Very strange; you may get double rolls here.

Hoping to get back more soon, currently doing training in a new job and trying to sort out some other stuff.

About to read the battle .... interesting after reading this first... ;-)

Welcome back Rhi!

Issues with MapTool, I'll have it fixed today.

Lol! THAT'S true! Man this has been too funny. Foiled by the mighty, mighty grease spell. Not the super gigantic chick OH NO!

The grease spell.

Good times. :)

Male Bat Familiar 5

Hey, Grease is one of the classics for a reason. ^^

Okay I'm confused. You make your way to Kellen but you heal Tomaru? Oh wait, I get it! You were about to heal him and then you said: "Psyche!" Good one, Rhianni. ;)

Lol! Oh man this was back in the good ol' days. But you forgot 'Lymmm' at the end. ;)

Oh, it was me thinking it was Tomaru who needed the help, then reember it should have been Kellen, as he was definitely not well. So I cahanged the narative, but forgot to change the dice roll ... whoops ... must have been past bedtime .... :)

Great idea Rhi, with the Glitterdust. Fiercely good luck for that ogre got Tomaru hit hard: Perception check, critical hit, 50% miss chance.

I will be out of town on business until Sunday - will return with dice sharpened and typing fingers warmed up.

Have a good trip. Also - leaving in a bit of a cliff-hanger.

FYI for all. Starting this Thursday, will be traveling for about a week. I'll probably check in everyday, but not sure if I'll be able to post as much. Apologies if that slows things down.

So I was debating just giving the AC of an opponent in the first round of a combat - maybe after the first attacks - just to make things go a bit smoother, AND allow you to post knowing the results of your attacks.

PROS:
Combat posting efficiency goes up.
RP opportunities in combat posts go up.

CONS:
Reduces the suspension of disbelief.

Let me know what you think. I'll be sending this out to all my games.

Male Human Rogue 7/Fighter 4; HP: 93/104; AC:24/T18/FF24; Fort+9 Ref+10 Will+5; Per +15; Init +3

If it makes things go more smoothly in terms of gameplay (and easier on you), then I am fine with it. It can be daunting to be swinging and not knowing if I am successful, but I am will to try and RP that.

In my game, I post baddies' AC, CMD, hit points, and saves, and let players roll monster saving throws so they can post the results of their actions the same time they make them. Hasn't caused any problems so far(that I've noticed).

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

Don't matter to me, bud. I'm good with whichever.

Grand Lodge

I'm good either way.

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

If we need someone to watch the stairs Thordak will volunteer if need be. Unless one of you prefer to. It's all good to me.

F/R/W: +25/+23/+22 AC/T/FF: 33/19/26; CMD: 36; Perc: +22; Init: +9; Max HP: 179; Current HP: 168; Temp 0;

Nobody should stay alone. Snake woman can teleport in and charm or kill a lone PC.

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

You know, I hadn't thought about that. That's probably a good idea. We would be some easy prey.

Grand Lodge

Don't have to watch alone.

I'm back, new map is up, let's finish this!

Grr...crafted a great post (imho), hit send, and left for work. Find out when I get here that its gone. Sorry 'bout that.

Guys, I am Origins this weekend, will be back Sunday.

Male Workaholic, level 10

OK - have fun. Safe journey.

I have returned, got some catching up at work to do, and will get this rolling this evening.

Obviously, that Haste doesn't affect Kellen.

Sorry I've dropped from the game, its just not easy to fit in with life at the moment. I've really enjoyed playing this adventure with you and want to thank you all for making it such fun. I've dropped from all my games on Piazo boards (the only boards I play), and will hopefully pick up again in the future.

It was a blast whilst it lasted, and I wish you all the best for the future.

Ah RL rears its ugly head once again. Good luck Deevor/Rhianni, hope to see you back soon.

Sorry to hear that, Deevor; but totally understand. Best of luck and hope all goes well in RL.

I'm running seriously low on memorized combat spells, but I still have two solid scrolls and I can use the Grauls' wands against this Ogress. Fighting Lucretia is gonna be tricky, though...

The fact that she hasn't jumped us by now means she was worse off than we expected and hiding or unaware that we have gotten this far. Given the racket outside and the noise of combat as we trudge through here, I can't believe its the latter.

In addition to the holiday weekend here in the States, a lot of folks are taking Friday off as a paid holiday. Are we packing it in until Monday at this point? Just curious; no complaints.

No, but system is down anyway, not back until Monday.

Ok, back at work where I can get this going again.

Headband of Charisma? Yes, please, unless we have some other Cha casters.

Kellen's already charming enough, so I'll pass. ;-)

It's almost as good as my chain shirt, so I'll take a set of hide armor as backup and stash in my bag unless everyone wants to sell them all.
Belt of Giant Strength might help me dish out a little more damage, but my guess ia it should go to Thordak for melee damage or Praxim if it will impact his bowshots.
I'm out of potions as well, but figure that's better in the hands Tomaru or Lym at this point. Same for the ring and amulet.

There goes my secret plan to multiclass into Sorcerer and try out the Ultimate Magus PrC. ;)

I would love to get that ring and/or amulet!

Grand Lodge

How about I get the amulet and you get the ring?

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

@Kellen: Take it, bud. I already have one. :)

I'm taking one of those ogre hooks.

OK - cool. Unless Praxim's in need of it, I'll take the Belt then.
