Frightened:
Frightened
A frightened creature flees from the source of its fear as best it can. If unable to flee, it may fight. A frightened creature takes a –2 penalty on all attack rolls, saving throws, skill checks, and ability checks. A frightened creature can use special abilities, including spells, to flee; indeed, the creature must use such means if they are the only way to escape.

Frightened is like shaken, except that the creature must flee if possible. Panicked is a more extreme state of fear.

A grease spell covers a solid surface with a layer of slippery grease. Any creature in the area when the spell is cast must make a successful Reflex save or fall. A creature can walk within or through the area of grease at half normal speed with a DC 10 Acrobatics check. Failure means it can't move that round (and must then make a Reflex save or fall), while failure by 5 or more means it falls (see the Acrobatics skill for details). Creatures that do not move on their turn do not need to make this check and are not considered flat-footed.

@kazu I could have it flee into the pool, true. Otherwise the place seems crapmed. Doing a full retreat now wouldn't give you an AoO anyway, since it's one AoO-free square at the start.

I'll sneak a post in soon. Had some time for the boards today. Finishing touches and all that in regards to the work-related stuff.

@Kazu - Oh, Cypher locked gaze with it, so that's that problem solved. You can consider it flat footed. You wrecked its face as is. If you add SA dice to that, it's over anyway.

Helme and Kazu stay in the fight as the rest of the Pathfinders have a panic attack, with Cypher standing near the entrance casting their spells.

This prevents the trembling bunyip from running away, and Kazu finishes it off with an onslaught of claws and bites. All in, some would say.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the pool, Helme and Garr slaughter one other otterfish. The last creature standing uses its fins to awkwardly shuffle towards Kazu with the intention of biting a leg off. Apparently, it thinks Kazu is a product of Qadiran Fried Chicken. Must be the feathers.

Kazu stands awkwardly with the two girls hanging on tight to him, looking from at each of his teammates in a silent call for help. He keeps his hands/claws up, afraid to touch them.

Eadric smiles widely at Kazu. "You're a total hero, bro!" Deciding that saving Kazu from an awkward situation is the least he can do after how he acted during the fight, Eadric starts walking towards the lookout. On his way to the two girls hanging onto the poor, uncomfortable bird, he pulls out his sorry excuse for a wand, then kneels down to eye level, and offers it to Niana and Relinda. "You did most excellent, little dudes! And were totally brave too. Now... Why don't we finish the job and, like, make your father totally better with this here wand." He gives them his goofiest of smiles and glances at Helme. "If you ask Helme real nice, I bet she'll, like, show you how it works."

When Josef is feeling a little better, he asks why his family was going to be sacriced. "...And, bro, why were they so rubbish at it?"

You can use a charge from my wand to get Josef back on his feet.

Garr seems visibly pissed at the mention of the weak and innocent girls being used as a sacrifice of some sort
"Tell us girls, who was going to hurt you?! Uncle Garr will make sure those responsible, pay. DEARLY."

Cypher waits for Helme to help, then looks towards the kids and the father.

I'm sorry to ask this after what you've been through. But I must ask something, that you forget we where here. If anyone asks, tell them that some folks saying they where the "Aspis" came in and slaughtered the Besmarans and that gave you the chance to escape.

Tenibri adds to Cypher's request. "And don't make them saviors, or anything. As far as you know, they didn't even know you were here. You heard lots of talk of robbery, and grabbing valuables.

The girls swoop around Helme with Eadric's wand, bargaining to make her heal their bleeding father: "We don't want to be orphans, lady...", one of them states with puppy eyes, with the other one holding out the wand in front of her - "Make him better, please? I'm too young to make due all alone."

The man in the corner smiles and coughs. "It's not that bad, girls. I've seen worse." He stands up slowly. "Still hurst though..."

He walks up to the party, winking at Cypher and Tenibri. "Noted. And thanks for helping us. I thought we were dead for sure. Damn Besmarans decided to make us today's sacrifice. Must be because of their mother again.", he tilts his head towards the girls, who are fully occupied jumping around Helme.

Cypher raises an eyebrow.

Their mother? Do tell?

Josef shrugs at Cypher. "No idea what happened. She said she's running a deal with them, and then just disappeared. Real free spirit that one.", he smiles before grimacing from the pain again. "Keeps you on your toes, you know..."

"She showed up at home the other day, smiling ear to ear, packed some essentials and disappeared. I didn't hear from her since."

As per Eadric's suggestion, the children continue to annoy Helme.

Free spirited indeed.

They decide to not say what their thinking.

We need to get going now... Best of luck with the missus.

Assuming that Helme heals the man, Cypher waves the crew on to go to their next location.

Helme takes the wand from the little ones, and finally raises her hands for silence when the noise level gets to a low din. "I will heal him. Let me show you how this wand works." "This is the sorriest excuse of a wand that I have ever seen. Eadric needs a new one.

After she taps Josef with the wand she hands it back to Eadric. "What did you do to this poor wand sit on it?"

"What is your mother's name? I'm looking for an elven woman. I may have a job offer for her." she asks the girls and their father.

Hah! 2 HP. The party healer, ladies and gentlemen...

Josef thanks you for the healing: "It's a BIT better, thanks. I think I'll make it through the night." The older child looks at Helme. "Mommy's name is Reddie, and she is almost as beautiful as my sister!", she announces with a smile.

"A job for my wife? Hah! That's rich. You are the second funniest rock I have met this year. Reddie is short for Redelia. That's her name." Josef overhears the conversation and chips in.

Meanwhile, the younger kid walks up to Garr and observes his beard with curiosity. "Can I touch and braid it, daddy?", she asks after a few seconds, without looking at Josef.

"I'm not sure, honey. Why don't you ask the nice dwarf himself?", he responds, and Frelinda looks at Garr: "Can I braid your mouth's hair, misterrr?", she asks and prolongs the last syllable in a child-like manner.

Finally, Kazu manages to divest himself of the two grubby little creatures and retreats into a dark corner of the room. He looks at his teammates wondering why they are still dallying when they have acquired what they came here to find, and put an end to the evil beings.

"I totally lucked out when I found this gnarly thing in the bargain bin. Can you believe the merchant was, like, this close to throwing it away? A most excellent find!"
