Storm Dragon |
Reflexes: 2d20 ⇒ (15, 1) = 16
One of the Night Hags gestures, and the Sphere's aura disappears from Ixrul's view...he takes this opportunity to strike, opening the ground beneath the hags, and they yelp in surprise as they drop.
Falling Damage: 10d6 ⇒ (4, 4, 1, 5, 5, 3, 3, 5, 1, 2) = 33
The Dreamthief hangs calmly in the air, though looks annoyed as her coven is removed from her immediate vicinity.
"Irksome." she says, and sends a test spell at Ixrul.
Images: 1d6 ⇒ 6
Against all odds, Gremory manages to pick out the real Hag, and slams her with a gut shot mid-cast!
She doubles over in pain, though most of the damage was absorbed by her False Life. Nevertheless, she loses hold of the spell.
The Night Hags are out of sight.
Damage: 2d6 ⇒ (3, 6) = 9
Krom and Daliya! Make me Will saves if you approach. Then back to the top of the roud with you guys.
By the by, Gremory: Your Bane is against OUTSIDERS. Ixrul could have advised you on which to pick, here.
Krom Manirah |
Gurram tries to resist the repulsion...
Will: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (13) + 11 = 24
The rest of my turn depends on whether she succeeds.
Gremory Ainsworth |
Got it. Outsider it would be. Although, the Seeking enhancement is worded in a way that seems to mean it would circumvent Mirror Image. The wording "negating any miss chances that would otherwise apply, such as from concealment" is where I get that impression. (Bolding mine) Your thoughts GM?
Krom Manirah |
Krom Will: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (19) + 13 = 32
Krom grins arrogantly.
"Thieves? You've got the wrong idea, miss. We're pirates! We don't skulk around in the shadows, hoping fortune will come to us in an unguarded coin-purse. We boldly seek out what we want, and we TAKE it, no matter who stands in our way!"
"Speaking of which: I think you've overstayed your welcome on OUR island!"
Then they charge at the Dreamthief! Krom saves his lance for last, letting Gurram pop some images first.
Images rolls:
Bite: 1d5 ⇒ 1
Claw: 1d4 ⇒ 3
Claw: 1d3 ⇒ 1
Claw: 1d2 ⇒ 2
Claw: 1d2 ⇒ 2
Lance: 1d2 ⇒ 2
So two claws and the lance are aimed at the real one, and she has one image left.
Claw: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (19) + 21 = 40
1d8 + 18 ⇒ (5) + 18 = 23
Claw: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (6) + 21 = 27
1d8 + 18 ⇒ (4) + 18 = 22
Rend (if both hit): 1d8 + 15 ⇒ (2) + 15 = 17
Lance: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (11) + 17 = 28
3d8 + 60 ⇒ (8, 5, 7) + 60 = 80
Daliya |
Will Save: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 23
Daliya headed towards the Sphere, and gave it an experimental blow. If it cracked...well, it would work.
To Hit: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (20) + 15 = 35
Damage: 2d6 + 12 ⇒ (2, 5) + 12 = 19
Ixrul Morcrom |
They dropped the sphere. Which is convenient, since it probably has about 300 hit points and hardness 30, so just attack the hag.
Ixrul Morcrom |
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
The air elemental fails to approach. The tiger can do nothing while they are over the pit.
Ixrul begins casting SM VI from cover.
Ixrul Morcrom |
Sphere. It's not solid, though, and you can launch spells through it.
Storm Dragon |
Two images left, Krom. She had 5.
Daliya Mirror: 1d3 ⇒ 1
Daliya pops an image, while Krom and Gurram flail at her. One of Gurram's claws manages to strike the nimble and heavily buffed Hag.
Gremory, then bad guys again. On your earlier question Gremory: Seeking doesn't negate Mirror Image, as Mirror Image is not a miss chance like Blur or Invisibility.
Edit: Also Daliya make a Reflex save for ending your turn next to the pit.
Storm Dragon |
Daliya falls down a 100 ft. shaft into bubbling acid.
Damage: 10d6 ⇒ (2, 2, 2, 2, 5, 5, 3, 6, 2, 3) = 32
Acid Damage: 2d6 ⇒ (6, 2) = 8
She is surprised to note, through the pain, that the hags are nowhere to be seen.
Remember you're level 11, so update your HP accordingly. Climb DC 30 to get out. If you're Large sized you can brace the walls and reduce the DC to 20.
Gremory!
Ixrul Morcrom |
I don't think they can ethereal out, as it's not on the prime material.
Gremory Ainsworth |
Gremory continues to strike the only available target.
Gun: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (15) + 18 = 33
Damage 1: 1d12 + 2d6 + 18 ⇒ (8) + (1, 2) + 18 = 29
Haste Gun: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (3) + 18 = 21
Haste Damage: 1d12 + 2d6 + 18 ⇒ (10) + (1, 1) + 18 = 30
Gun 2: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (19) + 18 = 37
Damage 2: 1d12 + 2d6 + 18 ⇒ (2) + (5, 6) + 18 = 31
Gun 3: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (17) + 13 = 30
Damage 3: 1d12 + 2d6 + 18 ⇒ (9) + (2, 4) + 18 = 33
Storm Dragon |
I don't think they can ethereal out, as it's not on the prime material.
Doesn't need to be. Etherealness is like a limited Plane Shift, it only goes to the Ethereal Plane but it's got no failure states. Just like you can Plane Shift from the Plane of Fire to the Plane of Water, you can Ethereal Jaunt from this open demiplane to the Ethereal Plane.
I did, after some deliberation, figure that the pit still exists on the Ethereal since it's so closely linked with the Material, which is why they aren't out yet.
1d2 ⇒ 2
1d2 ⇒ 2
1d2 ⇒ 2
1d2 ⇒ 1
Nice coinflip skills Gremory.
Gremory nails three quick shots on the hag, and destroys her last image.
Grimble grumble touch AC grimble grumble. =p
The Dreamthief hisses in pain, but steps back only slightly from Krom and casts a spell, erecting a shimmering wall around herself.
She now has Concealment (20%) to anyone not on her side of the wall. Spellcraft DC 18 to identify.
Daliya |
We levelled up? Darn. I'll get that sorted later.
Wincing at the pain, Daliya braced against the walls and began to climb out.
Climb: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (7) + 22 = 29
Ixrul Morcrom |
Automatically identified.
Ixrul Morcrom |
It's DC 30 to climb out.
"That barrier is a wall of nausea."
This is my last big single-target that will work past their immunities, so it'd better work.
Ixrul Suffocates the hag. DC 24 Fort
He also finishes summoning, and an Erinyes appears.
True Seeing, so no concealment/MIs.

TheGuyKnownAsAce |
Ace, upset that he cant cut the hag up, resorts to spamming ranged thunderbolts.
spell resistance: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (2) + 11 = 13
damage: 10d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 3, 4, 2, 5, 2, 4, 3, 3) = 35
Only time ace can specifically target an enemy's DR, RNG hates him
Gremory Ainsworth |
So, I think our Initiative order got borked during our transition between PBP boards, but I'm pretty sure Krom needs to take more than one action before mine or Ixrul's third actions. Holding off for now.
Storm Dragon |
Ixrul Spell Resistance: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (4) + 11 = 15
The hag smirks as both Ixrul and Ace's spells are absorbed into her body harmlessly. The smirk widens as the Erinyes misses shot after shot, with the last arrow breaking on her skin.
Crit hits, but does not confirm, and does not overcome DR. Rest miss.
Krom.
@Gremory: Actions aren't really borked (I don't think we skipped Cube's turn) but you went out of order, which is fine. Adjacent Initiatives I just put in order after the fact.
Krom Manirah |
How tall is the wall?
Krom Manirah |
Eh, doesn't matter.
Krom Dimension Doors himself and Gurram 10 feet directly above the Dreamthief. Then Gurram pounces on her from above.

Krom Manirah |
You could Magic Missile. It's not affected by less-than-total (20%) concealment.
Ixrul Morcrom |
She's got Shield.
Ixrul grabs Ace (assuming he has fly up), teleports him to the hag, and shifts out.
Storm Dragon |
The main issue is Ace has a hard time overcoming her SR anyway, so he's stymied at range and can't get in melee...that said TBH Doop you cast more lightning bolts and other attack spells than anything so I'm surprised you haven't asked to swap classes to some kind of full caster (the Arcanist can get a Black Blade, by the way).
Unfortunately, Ixrul's teleport is unnecessary.
The hag ducks and weaves, but the bullets somehow unerringly strike her through walls of pure force that make it impossible for the other characters to touch her. Somehow. =p
The last shot blows off the right side of her head.
"Bother." she manages, and drops into the Acid Pit, dead.
Daliya, make a Reflex save to avoid falling as the Hag's corpse smacks you in the face.
Gremory Ainsworth |

Don't thank me, thank Paizo's dev's for not even trying to pretend like they know how guns work.
"Hmm."
TheGuyKnownAsAce |
Ace never had the chance to close in on enemies to give the the old one two
damnm, if he did get past the barrier, he could have completely negated the hag's DR, and due to the kneen effect on his blade, will completely obliterate the said hag.,
"Why can't I ever get to kill anything..."
Gremory Ainsworth |
I'd recommend picking up Dimension door, and grabbing Dimensional dervish. You could be a whirling blender of stab.
"You must find your strengths. Play to them. "
Krom Manirah |
Krom pats Ace's shoulder.
"This was just an unlucky break for you. Hell, even I didn't get that many good hits."
Meanwhile, Gurram hovers over the pit, offering to pull Daliya out.
TheGuyKnownAsAce |
"Oh right, the body"
After Gurram lifts Daliya out, Ace flies down, and grabs the slightly acidic corpse of the superhag to search for information.
Ixrul Morcrom |
"The other two hags may yet live. Take care."
I believe Ixrul can see them with see invis/arcane sight?
Daliya |
Guessing I made that save, then. WHOO!
After being pulled out of the whole by Krom, she nods her thanks to the creature and it's summoner, wiping some of the acid off her brow. Also sweat, since climbing was an effort.
After a moment, Daliya decided some minor healing would do her some good.
Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
Storm Dragon |
Yes, yes there is.
You explore a bit more of the cave, and come across several battered, half-conscious women in a cave. One struggles to her feet, and stands tall to greet you, though it clearly pains her.
"Well, these are hardly the ideal circumstances to greet you, but I suppose that's life." she says.
Oh, you meant TREASURE. Well, I hadn't planned any treasure, and I didn't give any of the hags magic items. But on second thought, yeah there'd probably be a bit here. Call it one Plunder in the form of expensive material components for spells.
