Swapping mending for read magic, starting the morning after our Ewok celebration party.

Casting read magic, after about 20 minutes, Aldous has deciphered all the non-cantrip spells from those two books.

If able, take 10 will auto succeed all required spellcraft checks to scribe found spells into spellbook. If not able, rolls are below:

Transcribe levitate: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (11) + 11 = 22 (6/7 diviners blessing remain) (-40gp)

Transcribe sleep: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (16) + 11 = 27 (5/7 diviners blessing remain) (-10gp)

Transcribe scorching ray: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (1) + 11 = 12 (4/7 diviners blessing remain) (-150gp-40gp)

After a week goes by:

Transcribe scorching ray: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (4) + 11 = 15 (-1 diviners blessing for that day)

After yet another week (2 after Ewok day...)

Transcribe scorching ray: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (5) + 11 = 16 (-1 diviners blessing for that day)

I really hope I can take 10...

Garuneh: If that is the case, then you should have 21 hps. I have dice rolls of the following per level: 8, 2?, and 5. The skills work out now though.

Aldous:

Bad news: You can't reroll Spellcraft to learn a spell until you "gain another rank in Spellcraft."

Good news: Since you are in a comfortable, non-threatening environment, you can take 10 on Spellcraft. So you can auto succeed on all of those spells! ;)

That was the way in 3.5, srd has it as "until one week has passed" (CRB, chp 9, pg. 219)

No biggie, since I can take 10 phew...

Note, not trying to be argumentative here...just had to re-read almost all of chapter 9 today...
