Aralu |
Aralu picks through anything of potential value as usual, giving everyone a moment to steal a quick breath. It is easy to tell Aralu has done this a long time as she is quite used to it, and has a system or rhythm. She rifles through slain enemies pockets, checks for gold teeth, smells things that many wouldn't dare even pick up and, before she moves on, drives her dagger into the brain from below the jaw; her favorite part it seems as she smiles.
After her search she presses on.

You find 3d8 ⇒ (7, 1, 5) = 13 derims and 4d8 ⇒ (3, 1, 6, 5) = 15 thalen.
You continue throuh the only door in the room, down a hallway with several small rooms on either side. The small rooms have shelves in the walls holding skulls and bones. The hallway leads into a large hall with several shamblers and ghouls, but they are off to the sides, and it seems like you might be able to sneak past them to the door on the other side of the hall.
Gerald Kailoren |
Gerald is obviously off-put by Aralu's direct concerns of looting, though he doesn't voice any of the concerns that appear to be floating between his bushy eyebrows.
Adventurers are so very strange.
"Do you think you could all get past them? We waste time fighting these vanguards, if we get past them we can bar the door form the other side and move onward." The Mrimir asks in a whisper as he glances to the room of undead.
Aralu |
"I am with Drozak on this. If we bar ourselves on the other side we are trapped, if we can not bar the door we will be flanked, the door may be locked, and those of us that can not see in the dark are at a disadvantage with the undead, I can barely make them out from here. I may go as far to suggest we draw the enemy into this hall and deal with them in the previous room to create achoke point." Aralu says clearly with disfavor for sneaking by.

How many does several translate into?
Gerald Kailoren |
"That is assuming the ghouls don't take command and go guard the single point we need to use to progress. The Necromancer brought them with him or created them here I have no doubt they are acting as guard. Attempting to lure them would very likely fail without giving them sufficient reason to follow."
Aralu |
"Then we will cut them down from range." Aralu says drawing her bow.
Gerald Kailoren |
The tiny monk makes a noise of thought "This is also assuming they don't just withdraw behind those doors on being placed in such a situation. Forcing us to fight them in a hallway and letting them call others further back. How about the middle path, I will go over to the other side of the room and block the the doors. Then we can pelt them with ranged weapons until they either fight us in the hallway or turn their backs to deal with the jammed door."
Aralu |
"For your sakes I hope the undead are not as tactic savy as you credit them, but your plan covers all bases." Aralu pauses a long moment before nodding and says, "Good luck."
Gerald Kailoren |
"I have found in my years that pessimism and preparation succeed where natural skill and good fortune fail. Eventually everyone's luck runs out, it is better not to depend on such when you do not need to." The warrior intones, almost reverently as he glances to the holy symbol he carries.
Nin-Nin: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (19) + 12 = 31
Gerald will use his anytool and turn the object into something to jam the door with. Preferably in a method that leaves Gerald on the side of the door where he can help with the fight but I will accept if that is unreasonable. I'm not really sure as to the dimensions of the door in question so I can't be more specific with my action."

"Everything fails eventually, but not us, not today."
