More like Perception, since you're not tracking anything (that would imply you'd found a specific scent you want to follow already). So a 22.

Korak scents no blood.

The second floor is much bigger than the third, and more open as well. It appears to be mostly taken up by a banquet hall, but portions of the east and west sides of the room contain doors. A half-dozen guards are eating at the long banquet table, and do not appear to have spotted you yet.

I'm assuming Korak is smart enough to stop at the corner and peer out before just walking brazenly into the open.

About how far from our current location to the guards, and how spaced out are they? You guys want to let Chimon use enthrall and then pick out the ones who make their saves?

Anyone wearing a badge or uniform that might indicate them as an officer? Do we recognize their uniforms at all?

We should probably avoid direct confrontation. There are 6 of them and only 3 of us, only one of which is equipped to deal with melee opponents.

i.e.: Try Bluff/Diplomacy/Whatever first. If it doesn't work, we use enthrall/charm person/whatever.

Not necessarily. I'm asking more out of curiosity. It might be useful in combat or odd-shaped room. In places where it's just a square room, I don't think it's necessary.

I take 10 on Stealth for 46.

Korak silently checks each door to see if any of them is unlocked or if he can detect the scent of blood (or any other equally alarming smell) from behind one of them.

These guys can't beat that, so you're definitely in the clear unless Chimon has less than a +10 Stealth while Taking 10. I doubt it.

They're both unlocked. No blood smell, though there is an awful lot of sweat and body odor in the leftmost one. You deduce it's probably where they sleep.

The rightmost one smells of spices, cured meat, that sort of thing.

My take 10 is 37? But yeah with invisibility my bonus is more than +10.

Chimon circuits the room, looking for secret doors that might be hidden somewhere in the woodwork.

How many light sources are there in here, and where are they located? If we can get them extinguished the diners might just think there was a draft, or something, and we could open the doors with less chance of being noticed.

I meant before Invisibility. Even if it were less than 10 they'd need a 19 or 20 to see you, but hey you never know. =)

Ah, just noticed the stairs. That's a door in front of them, right?

Chimon returns to Jo's last apparent location (the stairs back up?) and whispers in the tiniest of voices, "If we can quickly blow out the first three candelabras, going clockwise from our corner, they might think it was just a draft and not be able to see the door open."

He goes back upstairs briefly to cast a spell.

Longstrider on Chimon, and he can take the southwest corner, if we want to do this plan.

Plan is to blow them out in the surprise round, then hope we do well on initiative/stealth and skedaddle to the door. 37 Stealth (not accounting for perception/distance penalties) to get into position.

Chimon waits half a minute and then blows on one of the lower flames, causing it to flicker noticeably. Waiting another three seconds, he licks his fingers and begins rapidly snuffing out the higher candles, then blowing on the ones at eye level.

Unless you mean the plan goes off without hitches?

Yeah. I was mulling over making it a sort of Bluff check ("Yeah it was totally the wind guys.") but that just seemed like unnecessarily drawing it out. Your plan goes off fine.

The candles go out and you make your way toward the door as the guards scramble to get up and light the candles again.

"Huh. Must have been the wind..."
