GM Mort |

Vincent runs it through its heart and it collapses on the ground.
Vincent checks the doors to the north and the doors to the east and find both of them are neither locked nor trapped. He hears the sound of footsteps from the door on the east.
Since all your min/level spells, including Howard's extended alter self are gone, I'll give you the you go back and search for loot? Or you wanna press on?
I'll probably be giving about 2/3rd of this area for heroism duration...

Vincent Arazeiros |

how has it been 50 rounds since I cast shield? We didn't even search lol

GM Mort |

You jokers ran through 3 different rooms. D3, D5, D8, D7, then picked a fight in D9. Not to mention there was some wanding in between. That's more then enough for 50 rounds.

![]() |

Sure, let's get the loot, then go after the room with no footsteps, then the room with footsteps :-)

GM Mort |

D9
On the bodies of each of the skum, they find a trident. They realize that the tableware on the table(gobblets, platters, candlesticks nad more), decorations and tablecloths in the chests are worth a total of 200 gp. A pair of crystal goblets used for marriage ceremonies rests in a silver lined box and is worth 250 gp. Vincent finds the north western door locked, but not trapped.
D7
Vincent spots on careful inspection of the room, a locked cabinet that he KNOWS its trapped. After trying to disable it carefully but failing, but not setting off the trap, he tries again.
Disable device trap: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (16) + 13 = 29
He manages to disable the trap, then picks the lock.
Disable device trap: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (13) + 13 = 26
Inside the cabinet the party finds a cloak of elven kind, a +1 returning dagger, a bag containing 1268 gp, 14 sp and 343 cp.
D3
The party finds the following on the 4 zombies they slew earlier. Vincent also notes that 3 of the zombies are in the armor of the Pharasman chapel guards.

GM Mort |

D10
Two wide cabinets with reinforced doors stand against the north wall and the ascending stairway in this room. A perforated metal bin sits near the fireplace in the northeastern room.
Vincent picks the locks to find that inside there are copies of trial records, building permits, ships logs, notary deeds, contracts and other such paperwork.
You do not have time to search through this - it would take 2h to uncover one tidbit, 8 hours to uncover all. Heroism is still running so I really wouldn't.
D11
The walls of this semicircular room are clad in wood up to half their height, and decorated with murals of the town's civil life on the upper half. A bench runs along most of the curved outer wall, under three grated windows fitted with stained glass. Opposite the bench are a trio of high backed chairs and a desk with a a stool. Two more benches sit in the middle, near a central pillar that supports the ceiling. There are 3 Skum, with their tridents pointed at the party.

Claude chomps off the head of the red Fishman!

Seamus Passeri |
"good job Claude! Vincent are you OK?" Seamus moves into the room past Claude and the bloody pile of frogman goo, and fires a single arrow at the last of the things.

GM Mort |

Seamus shoots him through the eye and he collapses dead on the floor. Each of the skum has a trident.
There are multiple barred windows and arrow loops in this room, overlooking the rest of Thrushmoor, and the room looks like a courtroom, otherwise there is nothing of value in this room.
Where to?

![]() |

Allow Vincent to take the time to unlock the locked room? Following that (if there is no immediate combat), head upstairs via the stairs in the room closest to the locked room?
Vincent:
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8.

GM Mort |

It's Vincent
Vincent checks the door and finds it locked but not trapped.
Vincent, now that he is not put under pressure, gets it on the first try!
DD: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (13) + 13 = 26
D9
Vincent opens the door and the party sees another hallway with this time, there are stairways leading downwards. There are webbed footprints on the ground headed the direction the party came from. Searching the room yields no loot.
Where to now? Up or down and from which stair?

GM Mort |

D14
This room is furnished with a large table, a few comfortable chairs, and a standing mirror. The room appears reasonably clean compared to the rest of the fort. A fireplace sits cold in the corner, and a pile of books and folios is spread across the table. As Claude ascends the stairs, Vincent sees a double of himself wielding two shortswords step out of the mirror declaring, "I've been expecting you."

Howard recognizes Vincent's double as a soul silver. They have fast healing 1,can move through mirrors and can become a perfect copy of any individual.

Seamus Passeri |
'I've been expecting?' Not sure what's going on, Seamus, following the others, begins to nervously sing hoping to help his friends with what ever may be going on. "There is a house in ..."
Inspire + 2, Have him follow the others into the room, up to 30 ft. going where he may be able to get a clean shot at the 'not Vincent'.

Vincent’s evil twin tries to chop Claude up into little dino bits using the dual shortswords.

GM Mort |

Howard you can't get to Claude on what passes for a cluster fk on the stairway. Vincent could touch Claude but that's beside the point.

GM Mort |

Vincent gets to fight his double later I suppose ^^ But keep those rolls. I'm sure they'll come in handy next few rounds or so =)

![]() |

Fair enough. Howard delays until after Vincent; that way, Vincent can attack, then move back. Howard will then move forward, and cast on Claude. The following round, he will move back, opening up space for someone else to strike/snipe from behind Claude.

Vincent Arazeiros |

Vincent growls, looking around for the mirror this abomination came from. "I'll teach you what happens when you take my form."
The thing helps Vincent to defend as he tries to move past the double and attack. (swift study)

GM Mort |

Vincent - to move through a targets square like you're trying to do because the target is blocking the stairs is a target CMD+5 roll. Do you want to redo your rounds action?
As per acrobatics

Vincent Arazeiros |

I can move diagonally no? I am just trying to clear the stairs whichever way is easier. Could even make a climb check if that's needed.

Vincent Arazeiros |

do the walls of the stairwell go all the way to the ceiling? If not I don't see how it could block the diagonal movement...

Vincent Arazeiros |

only change if I can't move is to fight defensively I guess.. -4 attack +3 ac 22 total.
"Back up! It's blocking the stairs and I can't move Anywhere."

GM Mort |

Vincent manages to stab the creature with his rapier. 13 dmg done
So currently Vincent is beside the creature with his rapier, since he moved and stabbed?

Vincent Arazeiros |

Yes I suppose? Didn't really need to move since I can't get anywhere. Map shows me stuck there and I can't move/climb out without trying to acro through him and most likely falling prone on the stairs and doing nothing helpful that way lol

Vincent Arazeiros |

Well I am stuck so if we aren't going to move back I could use suggestions, because I can't go forward or backwards, especially if no one else backs up? Or am I misunderstanding something?

GM Mort |

Retcon - unless you use a reach weapon, the 13 dmg doesn't happen. Roll the damage again should you be using a reach weapon.

Vincent Arazeiros |

Damage: 1d8 + 9 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 9 + 4 = 16 spear

Vincent Arazeiros |

Yeah, moving back down the stairs 30ft to end of line.

GM Mort |

Howard's delayed action takes place as he touches Claude, making him grow.
Vincent manages to stab her despite Claude being in the way
Claude then lands a flurry of bites and claws on the Soulsilver, except for one claw that was turned away by a green shield, leaving her barely standing.
Seamus +Dakash up

Vincent Arazeiros |

Wouldn't it be leaving "him" standing, since it's me? :P

GM Mort |

Dakash delays due to the clusterfk at the stairs, and Vincent's badly wounded double retreats into the mirror, then disappears.
Full action wd. Want to search the room?
East is door out, west is the mirror Vincent's double went through

GM Mort |

Mirror is not magical.
Vincent checks the eastern door to find it is neither locked nor trapped.
