'Shatter the evil ancient wooden idol, or consume the ancient magical scroll? idol? scroll? save the written wisdom! (and avoid melting my synapses..)'
Angruf carefully stows the scroll for later use, draws his crossbow, and carefully considers a target as he begins to rack back the string.
'Quite a nice vantage point from up here. I should be able to cleanly hit anything in the room from here.'

Sigh. Toren doesn't really know what to do.
Toren takes a smaller than normal step and slams his shield down on the ground. He grits his teeth, puts his shoulder behind it, and yells at Maul, "We're yer friends yah dafted biggun! I KNOW what yer goin' through but you can snap outta it!"

Cringing at the sting of another dart, Thovar attacks the idol again, this time with the dagger!

Beckett's eyes reflect an arcane glow. The entire room is covered in a carpet of magically animated plants. Most of the pathfinders show some small magic especially the dagger in Angruf's hands.
Fire when ready folks. Last reminder to make a perception check if you have not already found the TikTaan. If it helps, you get a +2 if you focus where Thovar and Jak's attacks are concentrated.

I'll start to make my way back in towards this mask that the others had been attacking, but quickly get caught. Because I can not 5ft step due to the difficult terrain, the effort also leaves him wide open to attacks.

Angruf you have two targets, Maul and TikTaan. You could also break Maul out of the mist's influence (which might give us a better chance of hitting the TikTaan :)

Seeing the lack of effectiveness of the rest of the team at actually neutralizing the Tik Taan, Angruf lays his crossbow aside, withdraws the parchment again, and directs a recitation at Maul.

Nigel looks at Angruf. "Three? They were altogether when we moved them to..." he looks around and seems to realize he is sitting atop the zigguraut, "To here. I remember the mist but not sure where the others are. Let's see. I put one in each of the alcoves there, there and there." He points to the east wall and two niches along the north. One of these faces Thovar.

Squinting down from the ziggurat, across the room, through the writhing greenery, Angruf is a bit at a loss to see the other idols. He does hear his companions' discussions, and decides to concentrate on the idol confronting Thovar.
Angruf takes aim with his crossbow, and attempts to skewer the idol, while avoiding his companions.

The TikTaan's ancient enemies must still guide Angruf as his bolt screams down from the top of the ziggaurat and pierces the tiny idol's wooden hide. Suddenly a deafening silence breaks out from the apes and monkeys.
They stand strangely mute and unable to move. stunned
Thus the pathfinders save Nigel and the Blackrose Museum and end the threat of the Tik Taan's madness-inducing Mists of Mwangi.

"I didn't see the mists until mad apes grabbed me and carried me into the swirling vapors. After that... After that I woke up here. The man holds his head and shuts his eyes. He takes long moment to then say, "The mists did originate from this room however, and after the idols were put on display. Yes, Yes I think the mists did come from the Tik Taan."

"Nigel, I realize you literally carried these idols out of the darkest jungles of the Mwangi, but they're too dangerous to be on display. We're going to have to store them safely at the Pathfinder Society."
As everyone 'reassembles' themselves, Angruf is going to ensure that he's carrying at least one of the idols. Angruf will be delivering it to his patrons at the Society.

Toren adjusts the tilt of his shield, acting as a makeshift market stall. "Rare gems cut from the heart of evil's lair." he calls out to people passing by. None stop to even look.
He sighs, scratches his beard, and mutters to himself "Sigh...guess it's sausage again," he pats his pockets down, "well...tomorrow maybe."

For want of a cleverer thing to do, Angruf will recite from the ancient manuscript (using his last daily performance) to attempt to purge the demonic influence from his brother dwarf.

Venture Teller Play b'Post |

1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
Julien, Thovar and Nigel both study Toren's condition while Angruf recites the scroll. It is soon determined the dwarf has been cursed. It is not a normal curse however, it is one unique to the Tik Taan. While Angruf's music has no effect it does spark a memory in the curator's mind. Nigel runs off and comes back with a book covered in the spotted skin of a Mwangi herd-animal. He studies it for a moment. "Ah Hah!," he exlaims a moment later. "The curse of these idols can be cured by normal means or by consuming a grflfdafflle." The curator stops for a moment looking for the correct translation. Ahh! A 'goodberry' berry."
Unless I missed something the cheapest way for you to remove the curse is by buying a goodberry spell. I think remove curse is out of everyone's range and is more expensive to simply purchase (10 gp compared to 150 gp).

![]() |

"Ah! a goodberry, as you say. I know a certain ill groomed elf at the Lodge that cultivates and enchants such things. That bush is better groomed than he is. Toren, let's go see what a pair of dwarves might do to shake some berries loose from an elf's tree." Angruf continues to make light of Toren's, now assuredly temporary, condition.
"So Nigel - is that a Chronicle of your explorations?"

Venture Teller Play b'Post |

"No. The Pathfinders never sent me to Mwangi. This is a collection of information from one M'hel Brouk. He came long before my time, and when Lugizar Trantos first mentioned his finds in the jungle, I searched out the book in our archives." I saw it while I was cataloging the collections, a task I started when I first came to the Blackrose family. It was a terrible state then.
I want to thank you Pathfinders. Tell Adril Hestram he should contact me in a few days. After I have had enough time to clean up this mess."
"How am I going to get rid of all these apes?"

![]() |

"Don't be distressed Nigel - the apes are almost certainly escaped from the Absolom Zoo. I'm certain that once we contact them, they'll send around zoo keepers to collect the apes. You may have to monitor the zoo keepers so they don't collect 'souveneirs' as well, but that should be a smaller problem. If I might suggest that you find a collection of suitable mementos to give the zoo keepers as keepsake and thanks."
