I take this to mean that you think the fiend isn't enough of a challenge/threat?
We are a party of 5(6) level 6 characters. With just the 5 of us we are a APL of 6. I would expect the fiend (the BBEG?) to be CR 8 if facing off against the 5 of us. If Imrael was active our APL would increase to 7 and the fiend would bump to CR 9. Depending on other factors, you could even bump its CR by another 1 but you have to be careful as APL+3 can get wildly swingy. It really depends on the set up. Are we fresh? Environmental advantages? Access to resources/supplies? etc etc.
It is especially difficult when you are dealing with a single bad guy. His economy of actions is swamped by ours. Without minions/allies to help restrict the battlefield and even out the actions per side he is at a significant disadvantage.
I think it might also possibly help to more accurately track character movements/actions. It is possible to turn on a grid and coordinates overlay in Maptool for players to use to indicate movement. You might then see more AoO arise and what not.

The archtype I am using knife master gets d8 but restricts me to using daggers dor sneak attack.
Also with bleeding attack the monster will continue to bleed unless it has some manner of healing.

PbP games (mine anyway) can get easily bogged down when there really isn't anything left to discover, but the party hasn't figured that out yet
So to help move things along, I've tried to let you all know that there isn't anything else to discover here. The breaking of the mirror (for some reason) seems to have "banished" or "destroyed" the monster in some way.
The special mirror that you are looking for (you discovered clues about it in the the laboratory on the first floor, was never found. There is nothing left to do but return to the village and speak to It'Dupree's agent and let her know that you did not find it.

The next chapter in this adventure involves something, a hook, which I've experienced where almost universally players are not happy about
So, I'm going to try and pull it off, but if it starts to go south for any of you, please let me know and I'll try to steer us back to something we all can have fun with.

Ominous and foreboding. Universally unpopular?
Count my interest peaked.
Only time that something along the lines happened in my pbp experience is when I played a superhero and the gm kept changing how my character's powers worked from one moment to the next up until the point where I literally couldn't use them to do anything other than watch the other heroes do everything. I literally thought the gm might have hated me for something personal, but he swore he didn't in a response to my pm.

I will try to update the map links tonight showing both the ground floor and the first floor (oddly enough this map set must be made by some sort of them "E-Uropeon" types as they describe the maps as "ground floor" and "first floor" which to all other civilized people would be the first floor and the second floor, *sheesh*)
Terquem |
Will anyone be mad if I switch up the maps a bit?
I got the first floor turned upside down when I was planning and the ground floor location, the alley, has a ridiculous balcony on the first floor I hadn't noticed. So I will still be using an alley, on these two maps, but it will be a different alley, with a stair going to a door on the first floor. I am working on it now

Heads up guys, I will be travelling July 16 to the 28th and probably won't have access to the internet during that time. Feel free to Bot, but please don't kill :)
Zaehyra Sillaesa |
I am preparing and leaving for vacation starting this week and don't know how well I will be able to stay caught up on things so bot as needed for story and times sake until further notice.
Keryth Tarathiel |
It has been really hit and miss. Down for seemingly days (week?) but with windows here and there in which one was able to post.
I have no plans at this point to switch to 2E. I wouldn't even consider it until the official release anyhow.
Ballar Fargrim |
I have a hard enough time keeping it RAW, but peer pressure me and I'll start flipping pages ;)

I've been out with medical issues since Aug 26th. I had a colonoscopy on the 27th and surgery on the 28th. This was planned but with all of the site problems I didn't get a chance to warn any of the games I am in. I'm home and out from work for at least 4-6 weeks. I don't know what my posting will be like but I'm sure will depend on how I feel and how the drugs work.
I was planning on starting a campaign before the surgery took place for my DM's and those I play in games with. I was going to use the time before surgery for recruitment and then start the game when I got out of the hospital. If I get it up and running I'll let you guys know. It's going to be a fun next few days getting used to being home again.
Ballar Fargrim |
Wow, that's a real kick in the pants Bud. I hope the drugs are good and the recovery speedy. Yeah, I'd be game for a campaign with you. I can't guarantee a daily post rate, maybe every second day, but you've got my interest!
Keryth Tarathiel |
I just noticed that Terquem has not posted on the boards anywhere at all that I can tell since the 28th. That seems quite unusual for him. I hope things are ok.
Ballar Fargrim |
Aye but that's the good kind of hectic!
Nivers, the 33rd is a long way off, are you sure you're coming back? :)
Terquem |
I'm not sure if the rest of you are aware of a site bug that prevents a GM from editing the campaign, but this game is one of the ones affected by it. So I cannot change the map at the top of the page
Since this is the only game "terquem" is running, I am going to try to add the map to Terquem's profile, so we can try to keep track of what is going on as you enter the basement.
Thanks.

I've been travelling for work and originally thought I'd be able to keep up, but I'm finding little time for keeping up. Please bare with my lulled activity a couple more days and then things should be back to normal.
Zaehyra Sillaesa |
I am traveling for work again up and through the weekend. My posting will be hampered if present if at all for the duration.

In Keryth's spoiler I talk about the old "portable hole in a bag of holding, bag of holding in a portable hole, conundrum, and I wanted to share with you folks my experience of the past two weeks.
I own a used Volkswagen Passat station wagon. Saturday the 8th I went to the local Shell station and filled up with 91 octane premium gasoline, only I didn't learn until Wednesday, after my car had been in the shop for three days, that the station had their delivery Saturday morning and the truck driver filled their premium tank with Diesel.
So this past week I learned you can put Diesel in a gas engine, and the results will be a costly series of repairs (The owners of the Shell station are paying for a new fuel pump, fuel filter, catalytic converter and fuel injectors, as well as removing the tank and draining/cleaning the system)
BUT, I leaned I was lucky because if you put Gasoline in a Diesel engine it can actually cause the engine to explode.

Glad the company is making it right. Hopefully they pay your rental fees as well while your car is getting repaired.
