GM Ascension |

As Master Hast casts the spell on Ian, Morvae moves behind the guardsman, ready to take action should it be needed.
It takes a little effort, but Ian pushes the door open revealing another room much like the others. As he holds his weapon in front of him to cast light into the room a swirling vortex of red mist erupts in the room, like thousands of droplets of blood.
Only Ian and Morvae have line of sight to it at present.
Ian Init: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
Red Mist Init 20
Morvae init 13
The red mist rushes towards the open doorway.
Hast to overcome SR, d20 + mods = 25
Mist fort save DC 18, d20 + mods = 17
As the mist hits the cloak of winds billowing around Ian it is rebuffed and knocked backwards into the room.
With it having approached the doorway, everyone is able to catch at least a glimpse of it before it is knocked away.
This is a devouring mist, a deadly swarm of blood and negative energy. Devouring mist is capable of drinking blood of those caught within its vortex, and if left to feed, turn its victims into vampires.
Note that this creature is considered a swarm of fine sized creatures, so swarm traits apply.
More info will be provided with higher Kn rolls
I rolled Ian's init just so we didn't have to wait to see if it moved before the red mist did, everyone else feel free to roll your own inits. Everyone may act before the red mist acts again.

Cindy Lu |

Init: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Unsure what the creature is Cindy will use her Fortune hex on Ian and maintain it as needed with Cackle.
The witch can grant a creature within 30 feet a bit of good luck for 1 round. The target can call upon this good luck once per round, allowing him to reroll any ability check, attack roll, saving throw, or skill check, taking the better result. He must decide to use this ability before the first roll is made.

Cormick Egerton |

Init: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15
Kn Religion: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
"See some kind of undead creature. I believe this is what is called a Devouring Mist. Don't let it kill anyone, as we will then have to deal with Vampires." Cormick quickly explains.
"Ian, don't let it past you. Let your inner hero out."
Cast Heroism on Ian. Move: pull out a vial of alchemist fire.
------------------------------------------------------
Current Effects: dancing lights (lanterns), 9 rds; heroism (Ian), 70 min;

Ian Marros |

Ian holds his sword out defensive as the mist rushes at him, then lowers it slightly as Hast's spell knocks it back.
"Alright, alright, shit--the f%*% do I do then?" He remains blocking the doorway.

Leo Spellworthy |

Init: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12
Kn Religion: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22
Leo gives Cormick a nod with his hooded head. "Right you are"
He reaches down to arm himself, but instead of grabbing any kind of weapon (of which he appears to be armed with none), he grabs one of the several wands at his hip, near his scroll cases and brandishes it like a sword while moving up besides the guardsmen in the doorway.
Drawing wand of cure light wounds. Ready action to use it on the mist if it approaches again.
"Get it's attention. Try to keep it off of me." Leo says to Ian.

Ian Marros |

"I can't do shit to keep it off you. F%%*ing pray Hast's spell holds."
Ian spreads his arms and shouts, "Hey, try again, you almost had me!" trying to taunt the...mist.

Serelina Bellafini |

Serelina shifts into a position behind Ian and casts a spell, launching a flaming pea-sized ball of fire into the room. Once it is far enough from Ian to not strike him the small ball detonates with roaring force, sending flame everywhere.
Fireball: 7d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 6, 3, 6, 6, 2) = 34
Wow... that is a nice damage roll for a fireball!

Issa Al'Sadri |

Init: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (1) + 0 = 1
Know. Religion: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15
Believing Cormik's words, Issa decides for the second time of the day to channel against the undead.
He moves to have a better look at the scene in J40.
Once in place, he takes his holy symbol in hand and calls for Horus Power.
May Horus' Light casts away the shadows of this world
Positive Channeling (Will DC21 or Daze 1 round): 4d3 ⇒ (3, 1, 3, 2) = 9 so 13 damages as it's a swarm

GM Ascension |

I forgot to have Serelina roll to overcome SR for the devouring mist for her fireball. If you could roll that Serelina.
Will save vs Channel d20 + mods = 27. Damage gets halved.
Morvae backs away, a hint of irritation in his voice, "I am powerless against this creature."
Master Hast invokes a spell, his face a mask of concentration as his body begins to glow, changing shape slightly, then bursts into flame. Upon the completion of his spell he moves in behind Ian.
Elemental body II
As others move about, trying to spread out, or deal damage to the undead swarm, the blood again pushes forward towards Ian, this time pressing past the protective winds. Where Ian's skin is exposed he feels a sharp pain and begins to bleed, his blood mixing with that of the whirling vortex.
This provokes an AoO from Ian and Master Hast. Though I don't think Ian has a way to damage it
Hast AoO d20 + mods = 17. Damage d6 + mods = 3
Ian takes d4 = 1 Con damage
The swarm takes d6 + 1 fire damage = 5, for being in the same space and thus 'attacking' Hast, though he is immune to bleed damage.
Ian needs to make a DC 20 Fort save or be nauseated.
The undead swarm is now in the hallway in front of the door. Will get a map up tonight.
Everyone may take another action.

Issa Al'Sadri |

The channel damages are already halved, the save is only for the dazing part.
Frustrated to see the swarm still action, Issa calls again Horus power to help them.
May Horus' Light casts away the shadows of this world
Channel (Will DC21 or dazed 1 round: 4d3 ⇒ (3, 2, 1, 1) = 7 so 10 damages

Ian Marros |

Fort: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18
Ian covers his neck with one hand and swipes uselessly at the swarm with his sword. "Gods that's f!@@ing disgusting--kill this damned thing already."
To be clear, just an RP swatting like trying to get mosquitoes away from you.

Serelina Bellafini |

Grimacing as she sees the blood torn from Ian's flesh, Serelina mutters Well I guess we know what was seeking blood...
Serelina responds with a second fireball, launching it so that it hits the vile swarm without hitting the group..
Spell Resistance: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25
Fireball: 7d6 ⇒ (4, 4, 4, 1, 5, 5, 6) = 29

Cindy Lu |

[dice=Fort]1d20+10
Ian covers his neck with one hand and swipes uselessly at the swarm with his sword. "Gods that's f&#&ing disgusting--kill this damned thing already."
To be clear, just an RP swatting like trying to get mosquitoes away from you.
Ian, you may roll that twice if you like as a benefit from my hex.
Cindy continues to cackle as she moves back further. I do not think I can hurt it much at all. I might be able to blind it, but does it see?

Serelina Bellafini |

Retcon
Ian move back into the hallway so I can blast this thing. Cindy, can you weaken its resistances?
Serelina give Ian a few moments to respond, then casts the spell...
She's casting whether he moves or not, dropping in the order until just prior to the swarm.

Cindy Lu |

Retcon based on the request - Cindy will still cackle, use her evil eye hex on the creature and then 5' step back.
Evil Eye: DC 19 Will (Partial) (Supernatural - no SR) Foe takes a -2 penalty to saves (1 round if it make the save, 9 rounds if not).
I can cast Lightning bolt but doubt I can break through the creature's spell resistance.

Cormick Egerton |

"A lightning bolt, hmmm? Let me borrow that a couple of seconds."
Cormick begins a lecture on the fundamentals of the lightning bolt spell for everyone, and with a quick step closer to Cindy, he reaches out with his hand to touch her.
Move begin Oratory Performance, standard to Stealspell lightning bolt
@Cindy: DC18 Will, if you want to negate the stealspell.
------------------------------------------------------
Current Effects: dancing lights (lanterns), 8 rds; heroism (Ian), 70 min; Performance (Oratory) 1rd, stealspell (lighnting bolt [Cindy]);

Ian Marros |

Crap nm, I forgot about Cormick's heroism. Ian passed that Fort save.
Ian moves back as ordered.

Leo Spellworthy |

Spellcraft: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (5) + 11 = 16
I should get an attack on the swarm in the last round as well, right? I wanted to move near Ian and ready an attack with my wand at the swarm if it advances, damaging it with positive energy. It posted after me, but probably went before me, in which case I would have just walked up to it and attacked with my wand. Either way I think I get my action in last round.
I'm honestly not sure how this resolves, but I'll assume the worse case and roll everything I think relevant. Use what appropriate, DM
Attack roll for touch against the swarm: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 positive energy
Will Save for half: 17, assuming it's using my wisdom.
For the next round, I'll attack again and five foot step back to give Serelina better blasting distances.
Attack roll for touch against the swarm: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9 positive energy
Will save 17 for half.

Cindy Lu |

@Cindy Evil Eye won't work against the creature as as an undead is immune to mind-affecting effects.
Yep, you are right. And Cindy knew it was undead because she was told. Plus I am not sure a hex, which targets a single creature, can target a swarm. Not much I can do. Ill Omen also targets a single creature. I guess she would just move back/ spread out to be a less attractive target for now. She can try the lightning bolt once the borrower returns it. :)

Leo Spellworthy |

Oh dang, will my wand not work on the swarm either, then? If that's the case, my whole declaration is pointless. If a retcon is allowed to not waste time on charges Leo would know on something that wouldn't work, he'd instead stand back and nuke.
Leo casts Burst of Radiance centering the blast to keep it from affecting anything but the swarm, if possible.
It must roll a reflex save (DC 18) or be blinded for 1d4 ⇒ 4 rounds. If it succeeds, it is only dazzled for the same, instead.
Assuming it is evil, damage: 5d4 ⇒ (3, 4, 1, 4, 3) = 15 damage that ISNT reduced at all by a successful save. x1.5 = 22

GM Ascension |

Sorry, life took over last night, so no map yet.
Issa, correct on the variant channeling damage, it is full damage, just no side effect.
Will save vs 2nd channel: d20 + mods = 20. It is now dazed.
Wand of CLW will be ineffective.
Cormick, roll to overcome SR for your burst of radiance.
I also forgot to roll a ref save for the first fireball for half damage. d20 + mods = 28. Second fireball save d20 + mods = 11
Master Hast continues standing in the swarm, form blazing, swinging with with hand to burn away the blood.
Attack d20 + mods = 22. Damage d6 + mods = 4
Additional damage done to the swarm for 'attacking' Hast by being in his space. d6 + mods = 6
I think that was everyone that had an effective means of attacking.
Dazed, the swarm of blood continues to swirl around Master Hast.
Everyone may act again.
Master Hast continues to apply what little damage he can add. Attack 21, damage 6. Additional damage 3

Serelina Bellafini |

Snarling, Serelina says "Enough with the cute spell swapping, cast the damn spells and throw fire at this thing. I can't kill it my self!"
We can't afford to waste actions here. Serelina is nearly out of spells that will affect this thing.
The wizardess then calls forth one of her few remaining spells, hoping to hold off the creature.
Magic Missile: 4d4 + 4 ⇒ (2, 4, 3, 2) + 4 = 15
Spell Resistance: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11

Cormick Egerton |

With another step to get the right angle, Cormick continues to explain the fundamentals of the lightning bolt spell, and finishes his explanation with a casting of the spell.
Free Maintain the performance, Move if needed to get into a position, Standard Cast lightning bolt, Free drop performance
Lightning Bolt, DC18 Ref: 7d6 ⇒ (4, 5, 1, 3, 3, 1, 2) = 19 +50% (9 points) for a line area
SR Lightning Bolt: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
Not sure what Burst of Radiance is? Not something Cormick cast/did.
------------------------------------------------------
Current Effects: dancing lights (lanterns), 7 rds; heroism (Ian), 70 min;

GM Ascension |

The wizardess then calls forth one of her few remaining spells, hoping to hold off the creature.[dice=Magic Missile]4d4+4
[dice=Spell Resistance]1d20+9
MM is an ineffective spell against a swarm as it targets individual creatures. Feel free to take a different action instead.

Leo Spellworthy |

Caster level check: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
----
For this turn I'll channel energy.
position energy to hurt undead: 4d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 2, 3) = 11
x1.5 = 16
If a caster level check is needed for this
CL chcek: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21

GM Ascension |

Issa Al'Sadri |

Again, Issa calls Horus' Light to fight the undead mists.
May Horus' Light casts away the shadows of this world
Channel (Will DC21 or dazed 1 round: 4d3 ⇒ (2, 1, 1, 1) = 5 5 so 7 damages

GM Ascension |

"The two fireballs are all I can bring to bear that will effect this monstrosity...
@GM did the door appear to be air tight and able to keep the creature in or out?
Without the cloth you expect it would be able to slip under the door, the sides probably not, though a thorough inspection of the door would be needed to be certain of that.

Cormick Egerton |

@Cindy: Only had 1 3rd level slot still open.
Cormick throws a vial of alchemist fire at the mist.
Vial, ranged touch: 1d20 + 7 - 8 ⇒ (18) + 7 - 8 = 17
damage, alchemist fire: 1d6 ⇒ 3
------------------------------------------------------
Current Effects: dancing lights (lanterns), 6 rds; heroism (Ian), 70 min;

Cindy Lu |

At the start of Cindy's turn Hellhounds appear flanking the mist and the Elemental/Hast. Both breath fire at the undead swarm.
Fire Breath 1: 2d6 ⇒ (5, 5) = 10 So 15 points, DC 14 Reflex for half. Reset rounds: 2d4 ⇒ (1, 3) = 4
Fire Breath 2: 2d6 ⇒ (1, 1) = 2 So 3 points, DC 14 Reflex for half. Reset rounds: 2d4 ⇒ (1, 1) = 2
Cindy has to cackle this round to maintain fortune on Ian.
