Thurismund rushes up to face off against the spider, stepping aside, much like an actual, living warrior.
Slam, Power Attack: 1d20 + 3 - 1 ⇒ (18) + 3 - 1 = 20
Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
"Spin me a tale." he quips as his spiritual blade "slices" the spider.
Alaric in the meantime, slowly approaches the fight.
At which point your narrator realizes he forgot to buy a pouch of sling bullets for his telekinetic projectile spell. So yeah, I'm an idiot.

I'd argue there's lots of perfectly good detritus and rubble on the ground for that.
Hmm..."Detritus & Rubble: Bedrock Attorneys-At-Law"....

![]() |

I wouldn't want to assume. If thats acceptable, I'll do that on my next turn.

GM V |

I forgot Izola said they would be traveling. So.
Nyedel moves to attack the spider.
Bite: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23
Damage: 1d4 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
And with a might bite Nyedel tears off 2 of the spiders legs and it lies still.
Comabt over. What do you do?

Kalivastri scratches Cleo's head as she looks around the chamber. "Let us search this place." she says.
Any objections to taking our time? If not, take 20 result of 29 for Kalivastri and 25 for Cleo.

GM V |

That's cool.
Searching around you find a door, once you get it open however you see that it is completely blocked with rubble and thing you will need to find another way around. You also find a corpse in the spiders web with some gold.
What now?

Alaric and Thurismund stand watch over Seelah, providing assistance where needed.
Perception assist (Alaric): 1d20 ⇒ 20
Perception assist (Thurismund): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10

"I say we go up and see if there's any more wildlife that has a deathwish." barks Thurismund, Alaric standing behind in a little bit of a daze.

Mikhail doffs his heavy nice red coat, stows it, and sets to climbing very carefully....
if DM allows it, Profession (Mason) to try to determine the best way or path to scale the crumbling stones: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25
Climb: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Stealth: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11

Mikhail gives the wall a nasty glare.
"YOU! You are hereby charged with obstructing an unholy-man in his rightful duties, AND with clear violation of local building codes #4, #27, #51, and #244 at a verifiable minimum, AND more violations of the 360 Sacred Dwarven Rules of Construction than is practical to list under present circumstances. Compatriots, fetch...THE LONG ROPE!"
He extends his hand backward in expectation.
"....One of you have got long rope, haven't you?"

![]() |

"Ha. Haha. Ahahahaha!" - gnome is laughing hysterically, looking at how dwarf falls and scurse the wall.
"Tears already made. Har! Okay, let me try." - He takes the rope and tries to climb up, after taking off the armor.
Climb: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (13) - 1 = 12

Thud.
"Ay! It hurts!"

Kalivastri uncoils her hemp rope and ties her grappling hook to one end. She looks up to the top and eyes the rim above before giving the hook a toss, trying as often as necessary to get it to catch securely. "I'll go first. Cover me." she says before beginning to climb.
Climb with Guidance: 1d20 + 1 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (7) + 1 + 2 - 4 = 6

Alaric and Thurismund will climb up after Kalivastri, taking their time and being cautious.
I'd like to take ten on this check for both myself and the phantom

![]() |

Mikhail dons his armored coat again and follows.
I take 10 for a result of 10. As I understand it, as long as the rope's been knotted, the DC is 5.

I think this is a rhetorical question .)

![]() |

"Right! I say we go left, if only to dodge the ire of the vicious gangs of Keep Left signs I've heard reports of out here!"

![]() |

Kalivastri eyes Mikhail quizzically. "These Keep Left Signs, are they dangerous? Should we prepare? What are their powers? Their weaknesses?" she asks, heading towards the left door.

![]() |

"Well, they can give you the mother of all kicks to the shin, for starters...but most of what's known is hearsay. Those who cross them, don't often come back. As for weaknesses? Hmm...if you still got one good shin after they ambush you, I s'pose a good kick right back could tip them over...or perhaps some missionary work is in order...."

![]() |

"Ahchoo! Oh, sorry. I'm allergic to dust. Me mother said so. However, I have no idea what is "allergic". Probably some kind of curse."
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Survival: 1d20 ⇒ 19

Alaric shuffles onto the next level, with Thurismund boldly following.

Perception(Thurismund): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23

"Interesting..."
"If you have curse to dust, maybe is idea get mask?"

Oh my goodness, I'm finally back. Sorry, got stuck in Canada overnight because they lost all our luggage and we couldn't get through customs. I'm a bit late for the perception checks and stuff, but I'll do them anyway and go from there.

"But on other side of door is person." pipes up Alaric as Thurismund growls. "If it's trying to lure us into a trap, it's going to regret not dying in the process." He spits. Cowards and their traps and illusion. Murderers. MURDERERS!!!"
