Apologies for not having my sheet updated yet, Mort. Bret and I just completed equipping Cadence in Hero Lab, but I can't find where he put the BB Code output file.
I'll get the file in tomorrow.
She's an angel-kin aasimar skald, but thinks she's human. Scion of humanity trait.

Mr. Whiskers |

Sorry, had the wrong gameplay. Should have paid more attention I guess!
Oh well, the post I made in the other game play should work just as well once we begin Reign of Winter.

A question for Mort, Einar and Crummock --
I have Cadence's deity set at Arshea. Provided that I'm tasteful about her worship / romantic inclinations, will this present a problem for the group so long as I fade to black and keep everything at a PG-13 rating?
I was looking for an artistic alternative to Shelyn, and I could see Kith Academy having a cult of Arshea within it.

GM Mort |

Just don't expect me to chime into those scenes. You know, we're pretty conservative here, and I lack the experience, being a generally goody-two shoes, scholarly geek.
I'll confess I skipped all those pages in novels where there was anything looking remotely mushy.
*blushes*
I think Robert is travelling to his work place atm.

I'm good with pg 13 or r, anything more I assume would be is spoilers or fade to black. For me it's about the character acting naturally,
Mort's right I usually am driving to work right now, but I'm off tonight for training tomorrow, so My posting tonight will be thinner than usual.

GM Mort |

Temporarily inactived the ROW thread at Hmms request, will reinstate it when we get there

Einar 'Kinslayer' Bjornson |
@ Mort,That's cool, Einar escaped the web with help from Cadences song,
I will at post again in 6 hrs. before I go to training meetings in the morning. My schedule will return to third shift Wednesday, for the next seven days after that, so I will be posting my regular hours then ;)

GM Mort |

Just a reminder, Einar:
Under inspired rage:
If an ally has her own rage class ability (such as barbarian's rage, bloodrager's bloodrage, or skald's inspired rage), she may use the Strength, Constitution, and Will saving throw bonuses, as well as AC penalties, based on her own ability and level instead of those from the skald (still suffering no fatigue afterward).
Thus should you choose, you could get your rage bonuses of+4 str and con. Or maybe you don't want to go to the dark side. Even if they have cookies ;)

Einar 'Kinslayer' Bjornson |
crap, I read that as + 2 to bonus not str. I need to go back and change the hp and roll to 16, I think that still breaks the web right?
edit no, I did that right, right?
edit 2.0 this is what I get for sleeping two hours this morning and then sleeping two more hours tonight and then trying to post, I'm a little slap happy.
edit 3.0 pretty soon it will be just like windows... If I screwed it up in game, just narrate it proper and I will read it in the morning. I'm going back to bed, night ;)

GM Mort |

Nah, you'll break the web fine, don't worry. Want to PA on the AOO you're likely to get?

Crummock, what Golarian language are you speaking when you speak German? There's a good chance that Cadence knows it, and I'd love to identify which one on your list the accent is supposed to represent.
Hmm

Crummock-i-Phail |

Well, I am not actually using German - it is a completely different language ;-)
When I post in a different language, I post both in that language, and a translation (hidden by a spoiler, which lists what language it is).
In this case (as can be seen from the spoiler), it is Aklo.

![]() |

I'm sorry, it's Einar that is using the German without identifying which Golarian language it is.
I want to know, so I can know if Cadence speaks it!
I am going off to Black Belt training in a few hours but my plan is to keep attacking that thing with my polearm unless I get goo-ed, in which case I'll try to break out.

Mr. Whiskers |

Just a quick FYI:
It doesn't matter in this case, but since the Raging Song increases Con, it would also raise the Fort save by 1.
Since there is a Skald in the party, this will come up often. Should we put a mini-stat block for when we are accepting the Raging Song? That would make this sort of thing a little easier.
AC, Will Save, Fort Save, Weapon to hit and damage all change. Technically so do any skills based on Strength such as Climb.

GM Mort |

Nope and sorry Hmm, uh I thought you were gone for your training, and was about to Bot you, I just moved your token. It 5 fted in(no AOO).
Feel free to move your token back to its original location

GM Mort |

Cadence - you can't take a 5 ft step in any round you move any distance.
You can move 5 feet in any round when you don't perform any other kind of movement. Taking this 5-foot step never provokes an attack of opportunity. You can't take more than one 5-foot step in a round, and you can't take a 5-foot step in the same round that you move any distance.

Crummock-i-Phail |

Out of curiosity, what *is* Cadence's flag?
The flagbearer feat specifies that it needs to represent something that we all share allegiance to, if we want the benefits...

GM Mort |

You can always have it as the caravans flag...you're all caravan guards anyway...
The debatable point is whether you can tie it to a polearm, but again since banner of ancient kings allows that, I'm not too bothered.

Mr. Whiskers |

GM Mort,
I realize I hadn't stated it before, but when Mr. Whiskers identifies an item he would share the information with the group. As far as I'm concerned, there is no need for spoilers.

GM Mort |

Sure. Save me da trouble of spoilering it up too. If the rest of the group likes, once I roll a knowledge check, everyone can peek at the Mr Whiskers spoiler too. I'm aware that Cadence could have made the knowledge check as well, but was lazy to roll, since the first roll already garnered all possible info. There really isn't much to say about these guys.

![]() |

I was going to work the flag's design out with the group.
Sigh. I should have known that I couldn't five foot step and move, but for some reason I thought that if they moved in past my reach weapon I got an attack of opportunity when they did. Bah. It was a great roll, too.
So move me back so that the Trogs can five foot step and club me. I've got to lay down grease so they stop doing those five foot steps.
Hmm

GM Mort |

AOO. I passed acro to tumble past Crummock, but not you. Because of the +2 per enemy threatening under acro rules.

GM Mort |
2 people marked this as a favorite. |

The use of reach tactics:
Reach tactics are things that most people do not touch with a 10 ft pole. Forgive the pun.
To get maximum value out of them you need corporation of your party. Why? So that no one stands in front or are within 5 ft reach of the monsters so that monsters can just move in and not provoke AOOs. The idea of reach tactics is to fish for AOOs. You want your enemies to come to you, and provoke in the process, not going to them(i.e charging into the room). Things like enlarge person, longarm, increase your reach so your threat area widens, making it easier to fish for more AOOs. Ways to legitimately bait someone to come to you = peppering them full of arrows, throwing a fireball at them, etc.
It works best against creatures that do not have any form of ranged attacks (i.e most animals). It can also be utilized to force a caster to make defensive casting checks (you need combat reflexes, and a way to threaten at 10ft and 5 ft to do that). Reach tactics can also be used defensively, in the form of tripping enemies that only have 5 ft reach, with a reach weapon. If they can’t get to you, they can’t hit you. And you have a full-attack action next round to punish them as they lie prone.
To force defensive casting checks on casters:
Move adjacent to the caster. If the caster casts, he needs to make a defensive casting check. If he 5fts, he’s still being threatened by your polearm. If he moves away(while failing acrobatics), or withdraws, as he is moving out of reach of your polearm, you trip him 10 ft away from you(sure, you provoke without improved trip, but unless the caster in question has a 10 ft reach, he cant take that attack of opportunity). If you are successful, he falls prone at 10 ft, and remains threatened by your polearm.
Ally cover may sometimes get in the way. For that, there is this feat

Einar 'Kinslayer' Bjornson |
Since all the character speak skald should I make Einar's "accent" abysmal?
It may make more sense, It may make transitioning to skald later easier.
For that matter since we are from the north we could be speaking skald now, of course that wouldn't explain why the caravan or lizards was speaking skald.
I will have to mark the discussion on reach tactics so when I start thinking about feats I do not forget ;)

I actually like that your accent is Skald. It's just that Skald is a home tongue for you and not for the rest of us.
Bret and I will be GMing PFS live tonight, so once again I will be AFK just as this group heats up. I seem to be pretty much out of sync with everyone's good posting times.

Thanks for the input.
Don't worry about the posting times were still keeping a solid number of posts and with holidays coming up it will be screwy no matter when or where people are.
If your feeling disjointed about how were moving let us know and we can work stuff out, that's why we started with Fallen Fortress. We certainly want everyone to be enjoying themselves.

GM Mort |

Posting time breakdown(sorry, it's GMT +8 time).
I start reading posts at 6am in the morning, realistically I can post from 7 am ish. I can usually post during lunch as well. I will post happily until 11 pm at night. Note that weds - fri, I have class, so my last post will be at around 6.30 pm, then I will try to squeeze a post in during break (8pm), then next post around 10 pm, free posting till 11 pm. Weekends I also have class. Sat free posting before 2 pm, once at class break at 4 pm, and after class after 6 pm. Then free posting till 11 pm.
Sunday I have class from 10 pm to 1 pm, so no posts during that time, otherwise its all free game. I check the boards hourly(usually start of h) and may increase intensity to 1/2 if I'm expecting a spate of posts.

GM Mort |

Re lizard
I suppose - but you need to keep it from shocking others everytime it gets excited, in public...

GM Mort |

*Happily imagines Hmm's and Brets expressions when they pop in after their PFS game ;)*
Feel free to retcon any conversations with Bort.

Einar 'Kinslayer' Bjornson |
All right it looks like Einar is going last. So I have a little time. I need to leave for work, I will be back on in a couple of hours. If it gets to Midnight EST, (2 hr and 10 min) and it's my turn and there are still skeletons to kill Einar will rage drop the glaive and attack claw claw bite ;)
oops, is skeletons needing bludgeoning common knowledge or will someone tell him? if not let him use the glaive... either way...

GM Mort |

Crummock, you sure you shouldn't be worshipping Sarenrae? ;)
She's got lots of fire...
