Normally try to avoid posting more than one move between GM updates, but after their "Hey are you really ready for this?" before entering the hospital followed by the big group "No we aren't going to leave you behind!" I couldn't picture Bran/Bronwyn not having a strong reaction to that moment.
Bran the Blessed
No kidding!
Bran the Blessed
I'm voting for a big win too!
(Partially this is my perspective as a relative latecomer, but lose a wing?! She just got these things! Interesting to have as an option though)
DM Default
Me and Wingblade discussing things will continue as soon as details are hammered out.
Bioshock
I'm game for Bronwyn to tell Eli her secret. Maybe they go out for eggcreams the next day or something? I'd enjoy the opportunity to get a scene in with Eli in the midst of his "overdose".
Bronwyn Pascal
Eggcream sounds good to me.
I'm stuck on the lead in to that conversation, and can't really spend the extra time it'll take at work, but I should be able to sit down and start that scene tonight if you haven't already done so.
Bioshock
I'm assuming you're still working out the details, but are you rolling a new character? Is Wingblade going to somehow make a return? Are we just supposed to say goodbye to you?
Bronwyn Pascal
Bioshock, this is a superhero game! You know the old saying, everyone stays dead in comics except for Bucky and Jason Todd.
Definitely agree with Hashtag that the way the Defenders handled this is crying out for problems with them in the not too distant future. Nick in particular was one ill-chosen wisecrack away from a broken face when Bran was feeling guilty about a Haxor clone dying. I can't imagine a meeting with him going well after Shayera
DM Default
Alrighty, got stuff almost ready to continue in the main-continuity stuff. Love the roleplaying, so I'll give you a day or two more, and then we'll probably continue by splitting the timeline.
===============================================================
Like this, with main stuff below, and finishing out scenes above the line.
Bronwyn Pascal
Works for me. Aside from finishing up talking to Eli, seeing Skuld at school as herself is going to be the first chance Bronwyn has to really realize that she's actually Skuld all the time, and not a host/avatar/? like Bran/Bronwyn....
Buut I'm glad we can keep the main story going too!
Plus I tried to leave off on a point where you could hop in with your own guess about what Bronwyn might want to talk about, which seemed like it could be funny.
Bronwyn Pascal
We could probably kick that off now since we're doing cross-time capers anyways. You want to do it when she still has her old hairstyle, or when there's maybe a bit more doubt? (Good for either)
DM Default
Alrighty, gonna be continuing main story today.
Feel free to continue your coping scenes, just make sure to separate them from each other and label clearly to avoid confusion.
DM Default
I don't usually do this, but since you guys are one of my better roleplaying groups, gonna throw a plug in for a recruitment I'm doing.
I'm running a City of Mist game which is sort of a cross between Apocalypse system and FATE. Takes a little to get into it, but the flexibility of your character is pretty good.
Those interested can check it out here.
Whippoorwill
Hashtag, are you actively not doing what Whippoorwill asked, or do you still not understand what she asked of you?
Basically, she wants you to create an illusion of Whippoorwill's dead body in the rubble that will make people think she's died. The police are on their way; she wants them to believe she's died. Just for a little while.
The disguise over her as she's getting away is nice, but not necessary.
Bronwyn Pascal
Absent further information or Hashtag's input I'm not sure how to proceed right now. I can't think of a reason he wouldn't share with the group, but hey, it's the Delinquent's prerogative to be contrary, so I don't want to assume that he's going along with Whippoorwill's requests.
Bioshock
Sorry for yet another absence, everybody.
DM, thanks for the invite, but these days I can't even keep a regular posting schedule for the games I'm already in. I'm happy to continue as long as my games are willing to have me (this one included), but it would be irresponsible of me to start playing in another.
Bronwyn Pascal
Glad you're back Bio :)
Oh, and re: City of Mist, the setting looks cool, and I'll definitely check out any games you're recruiting for, but after staring at the book for an hour, I didn't have any "Oh! That's what I should play!" moments, so I'm gonna pass.
Bran the Blessed
I'm holding off on jumping in right away to give some time for other people to still fit in any establishing posts they want, but let me just say I am very excited to see the Wingblade 2.0 avatar :p
Bran the Blessed
Hey GM, until Hashtag and/or Bioshock are able to check back in, how do you feel about temporarily NPCing them?
I'd like to at least push for teleporting to the wilderness base, but that requires both clarifying that Hashtag is in fact here, and it changes how a provoke action would work.
DM Default
I don't mind npc-ing some moves, but as this is a more narrative game I tend to avoid doing so. For example, if Hashtag's player is still angry and doesn't want to teleport the group and I made him do it, then it clashes with the character image that player had.
However, we'll do it now, and temporarily remove Hashtag from the scene to keep continuity going
Bran the Blessed
I totally get that - and I've been doing my best to narrate/write in ways that allow us to discover that Hashtag and/or Bioshock have been there or not the whole time, but I got to a point in the scene where I didn't feel able to write around Schrodinger's superhero :p
Bran the Blessed
Pfft! Like an unreceptive audience could possibly stop Bran from speechifying!
Bioshock
Sorry everybody. Yeah, there was another blackout, and due to recent changes in global policy, the office has been temporarily closed while a new location is found. The office was my only recourse when I don't have connection at site, and things are getting (even more) unpredictable.
I've got no problem with being NPCd, and I'll be as cooperative as I can be to make sure the game runs smoothly without me. My consistency has become a chronic problem, and while I'm not going to drop out, I will offer to resign with mutual good will if that's what's preferred.
If not, I recommend that Eli's still recovering from his recent episode. It's a great excuse to be off-panel for awhile.
Bioshock
It's not a great situation. I'm in a CotCT game that's been running for something like two years, and I'm trying desperately not to flake out when we're so relatively close to finishing, but it's just not fair to my games when I'm here for a week, gone for two, back for a month, gone for a month.
Bronwyn Pascal
My vote, by the way, is definitely for recovering off-panel.
Do you have any sense of a timeline for the new office? (I understand that you very reasonably might not)
Bioshock
The new office should be up within the next week, but we are restricted from sleeping there (part of the global policy change, or at least us coming in-line with previous norms), so it's never going to be as helpful (for posting) as it was previously.
Bran the Blessed
Definitely just assuming that's a mask since she's talking without a visible mouth, but that'll be a messy mistake if I'm wrong...
Bronwyn Pascal
Speaking of site re-designs I definitely did not get a notification for Thor Girl's post.
Just glad I didn't get struck by lightning and not notice it for a few days lol
Bran the Blessed
Gae-Dearg is somewhere in the ruins of the old base, right? I know I certainly haven't gotten it back, but it doesn't seem like Scythe is slinging it around anymore.
Bioshock
Alright, I'm hoping to get back in the saddle this week, resuming regular posting by this weekend (once it's narratively appropriate for Bioshock to return).
There's also the possibility of doing a Voice with an IP Address solution while he's recovering.
Bronwyn Pascal
Glad to hear it!
I'm still good to hop back into the flashback Eggcream scene as well if we aren't at a good main timeline entrance point yet. (Especially since I've been headcanoning it as Bioshock's prolonged absence being at least partly due to it having not gone particularly well...)
