We'll just fix it in post-production :p
Speaking of posts, I have no scenes outstanding for day 1 of the meet (especially since I'm trying to keep Marco slightly off screen until the duel-stuff comes into sharper focus). I am planning on doing a little more for day 2 (the javelin at least, and maybe a little something with the other events if something interesting arises/occurs to me).
Either way, if an excuse to talk to Wingblade doesn't present itself, Bronwyn will make one to make her stance on the Man in the White Coat more explicit (though not in a force anyone to confront cognitive dissonance kind of way).

I read discussion before gameplay when there's new stuff for both, and legit let out a (small) delighted gasp when I found out there was gonna be a team-up when I tabbed over.

still on family vacation, but if anyone has comments or concerns on any potential recruits in the recruitment thread, please message me privately as the discussion thread is public.
Though, I would prefer if you waited till the deadline to summarize your impressions on the applicants.

Are you guys planning on returning to the placeholdered study session?

Oh, and **cough**
Comfort/Support: 2d6 ⇒ (5, 6) = 11
I think there might be something in there that would count as opening up... :p

After getting some feedback, and going over the submissions, I have an option that I would like folks feedback on regarding the recruitment.
1. Option 1
I have a submission in mind for this, and the recruitment will end normally.
2. Option 2
We extend offers to everyone who submitted.
3. Option 3
We extend offers to those I think would be a good fit, numbering more than one individual.
While I understand PbP wears down the active players after a while, having folks join in and then shortly leave is frustrating to those in the scene with them and myself as a GM.
As such, I would be more apt to invite a few I feel might fit, but would once again expand the ranks of players to a larger pool. This would likely mean more posts to keep up with, characters to keep track of, and generally more work all around.
So, as the current players, how do you feel we should proceed? I still hold final say, but I would like your input.
Bran the Blessed
Out of the choices presented, my preference would be Option 3. If there are people you're iffy on, I would prioritize good fit (in writing and in general reliability) over adding another body though.
Thor Girl
I agree with Bran. I think it's important to go with characters you think would add something to the game (they don't have to sync up with our group per se, but they should definitely add something to the mix).

Okay, before I have Bronwyn invite Skuld out to join the shopping extravaganza, will she and Marco have interacted further regarding the duel? I've been trying to background that to leave as much space for how it goes as possible. I can write my way to the invite pretty much no matter what's gone down/going down, even if Marco and Skuld are still in uneasy cold war status, but it'll certainly change the post :)
Bronwyn Pascal
Cool, looking forward to it :)
I'm assuming it will be set before the prospective shopping trip?
Bran the Blessed
Hey, how tall is Skuld anyways? I've been assuming that she's around Bronwyn's height (a little over 5'9"), but I couldn't find anything to confirm or oppose that when I looked.
Just trying to block this scene in my mind's eye a little more clearly.

Hey guys, Sorry I was incommunicado last week. Work stuff got kinda hectic earlier than I expected, but I should be posting more consistently again.
I'll try to get a post up soon so Apex can get himself recentered in our current time frames.

Updating Feed Greyhound Sent could be a good way to pull highlights if you'd rather not actually run through the tutoring. Pretty good framing device for any flashbacks you want to zoom in on too with your memory tricks.

Posted an update for those selected, though there is one that might be joining later. I need to do some apartment duties but hope to transition everyone in nicely.

Hey everyone, new guy here! Checking in a bit late, so sorry about that. Out of curiosity, should I wait for Default to write me in or just jump in?
Side note, is Paizo's avatar selector being strange for anyone else? I was having trouble with images, and not being able to travel through the pages.
Jusker Ragnos
Thanks for the slot! Jusker the Nova, checking in. I may look for a different avatar over the next day or two. And yea, I had issues with the avatar selector on Friday; haven't checked since then.
Alexandra E. Walker
Hey all. I'm the "one who might be joining later" Default mentioned.
also, yeah, Paizo avatar selection wasn't... ideal. if Anyone knows a good avatar for "noir detective" hero, don't keep quiet (currently using a gunslinger, as it has a similar aestetic
Alexandra Walker
Mixed-race (indigenous/Caucasian)
School clothing
Traditional costume (Kevlar reinforced canvas trench-coat, body Armour underneath, simple domino Mask, and Fedora she's considering ditching, given modern connotations)
simple symbol insignia (a magnifying glass. granddad got it back in the golden age before all the simple stuff got nabbed)
Back in the golden age, when superheroics were just beginning, Albert Walker, Alexandra's grandfather, was just a PI. as change began to sweep Halcyon city. Albert had been an early adaptor, changing his focus from missing persons and police consulting to working as a masked detective in the newly formed super-powered underworld.
After a long tenure as "The Silver Shadow" (give Al a break, it was stylish at the time), and hundreds of cases closed (including finding the secret lair of Doctor Calamity, in time for the heroes to charge in and save the eastern seaboard from his dread superweapon, The Atomizer!), he passed down the mantle to his son, Stephen Walker.
Steven had trained his daughters from the time they could walk, so that when the time came for him to hang up his hat, they would be ready. Lillian had never shown much interest, but Alexandra and Gillian had both taken to the training very well. but ultimately, when dad had taken enough of a beating, she was 16, and Gillian was only 14 (Going on 15!) she loudly protested, often)
Powers: athletic perfection, Holmesian deduction, gadgetry, intimidation, fearsome reputation
Legacy:
Stephen Walker (dad) is retired and quite judgmental.
Gillian Walker is the next possible member of your legacy.
The Red Diamond is the greatest opponent your legacy ever faced...and is still at large.

Hi guys - welcome to the group!
Sylvalia Tesseril
Hey again! Welcome!
Stalwart here (aka Wingblade). I snagged this avatar image for one of my ancient aliases to show you. What do you think? I couldn't find anything fedora-like, though the Gunslinger iconic had a few nice ones if you don't mind wearing a hat that evokes a tricorne.
Anyway, if this suits you, go to the avatar page, sort them by the date added, then go to Page 4. (And I don't know what's going on with the avatar selection page. I had to switch to my mobile device to be able to see all of them.)
Bronwyn Pascal
He was the first one to check in :)
Do hope we hear from Siren soon though.
Bronwyn Pascal
Definitely looking forward to the shopping trip; it could have duels, fighting, torture, revenge, giants, chases, escapes, true love, miracles... without anyone else needing to show up!
That said, downtown Halcyon being the trouble magnet that it is, hopefully that'll be a good environment for other people to show up and strut their stuff too... :)
Wingblade
For the new people: Here's a little Halcyon City primer.
We've kind of given the City of Heroes a bit of geography as the game has gone on. The first big decision was whether it'd be more like Metropolis or Gotham, and eventually settled on 'Why not both?'
Therefore, there's the bright, shining area that is alternately called the Tower District, Downtown, or Midtown. That's where the Defenders' headquarters are located, as well as Whippoorwill's penthouse and Wingblade's new loft. There's a skyrail public transit system that winds through the Tower District and reaches all the different districts. There's also a much seedier subway system that still draws a lot of crime despite the presence of so many heroes.
Then there's Old Town, the gloomy, gothic-styled section of town that is very much evocative of Gotham. That's where Wingblade's Clock Tower was located, though it's since been knocked down. There's also a lot of graffiti in that area, featuring a metallic-winged angel saving people.
Northside is where Halcyon High School is located. There's also one of the biggest suburban areas there. Monument Park is located in Northside, which has statues of all the heroes of Halcyon's past. Therefore, there's probably a monument to the first Silver Shadow.
Rustside is located somewhere between Northside and Old Town. It's a district full of old warehouses, factories and industry -- much of it run down and decrepit, a perfect spot for superhero fights, since there aren't many innocent bystanders.
Somewhere close by is an old observatory, which surprisingly hasn't been the lair of a villain in over twenty years. Hashtag had used that as his own private hangout recently, but since his departure from Halcyon, it's again abandoned.
The Halcyon Aquarium recently suffered a major tragedy wherein many of its animals perished. It's probably still undergoing renovations.
And of course, Default is free to correct me on any of this. :-)

And I appear. Sorry for the delay. I hope my profile on here makes sense. Ive never done PbtA on a PbP actually. Its always in person so I tend to just write down character info. Herolab has spoiled me for formatting. I copied what made sense to me from someone else but may have forgotten soemthing.
Lee "Shadowboxer" Kokuin
Heyo, still here. Sorry, I'm finishing my last two days of work before heading back up to college, so I'm a little slow.
I haven't missed the intro have I? I've been checking gameplay and haven't found anything.
