Hey all, let's have a good time and enjoy the festival. I have never played this campaign before, so looking forward to it.

So, already started with dice rolls. Master_Marshmallow, I am assuming the Hagfish is Poison related as the Campaign Trait gives you a bonus to Poison saves, but there is no DC.
Also wondering how much the Coin purse is worth, out of character of course.

The Hagfish is actually the name of a restaruant, to make the RP make more sense, in game I'm saying that the bar itself has a house-challenge that anyone who can stomach the house special drink (for convenience's sake also called the Hagfish) gets to eat their meal for free.
A simple coin purse is not worth much, probably comparable to a regular sack.
Talomyr, I have edited my post to include your information gathering. It is in spoiler tags in case you intend to keep this information to yourself.

Ah, from the description in the Players Guide, it made it seem like there was money if you win. But eating for free, getting a free drink AND being able to drink which is the Hagfish ... that seems like reward enough.

Hey folks, thanks for letting me join. Sorry missed this morning, doing things here as it's a rare day off.
One question...how did you all get the header with your stats and such to appear?? Or rather how do I go about doing that for this?
P.S. - is there anyway I can get Paizo's message board to notify me when something in the campaign is posted? Sorry, just not familiar with this sites PBP options.

Once you dot in on both the game play and the discussion, this will show up under the "my campaigns" tab. There is no way to get notifications of posts, but this is an easy way to keep track of your games when you do log in. Just click on your name at the top of the page and click on my campaigns and it will be there. As for the header, copy and paste from someone else's header, go to aliases, then click on edit my character. Most people place this information in the class/Level text box towards the top. Just paste the info and adjust it to your character.

Thats it ... I am leaving the Diplomacy alone now. That is 2 failures, I shall leave it to others now.

I am afraid I am out of my depth on that, I wouldn't even know where to help. It took me nearly 3 minutes to find out how to move my picture!
GM, are you wanting us to have our stat blocks under our name like Andrezi, etc?

That's not necessary, just might be convenient.
It's giving me all kinds of issues now.... The map is toggling on and off for me.Daelric Morieth |
Done. So how did you make it so you could place our pictures on top of the map? I have looked for a way to bring it to the top instead of bottom, but it doesn't seem to be there.

I was just on the map, and all of the goblin pics are showing up on the map when I drag them over.

Is everyone present? Could we get a fight in to progress the game a little?
I am in a pretty fast paced RN program through the week. Normally I am good for at least a post a day, and I try to get two in, but generally it will be morning and evening check ins for me.
Is there any way that we can get a link to the map in the header to make it easier to go back and find?
Kiera Videns |
I'm here and ready to go for today! (I will be camping over the weekend and input may be sporadic until I'm home Sunday.)

Traveling to a social event so able to check and respond. I am usually good for a post in morning and in evening. This board system allows for easier mobile paying so that is awesome.

Sorry for the disappearing act guys, there was an emergency at work that required me to leave right away.
We should make a decision now if you guys are willing to do combat while missing a player, if someone wants to play that character, if you want me to, or if you want me to fiat the character's existence in and out at convenience.
Another decision you guys need to make is whether or not you want regular XP, or if it's easier for me to level up you guys when the advancement track says to.
I like to keep everyone at the same XP even if they miss out on a fight.
I don't typically say anything about loot, the players adjudicate themselves through RP.
Kiera Videns |
I have no objections to my character being under the DM's wing while I'm out. Play her with the intelligence that she possesses. ;)
Don't care one way or the other about xp, seeing how item creation no longer costs xp in PF!
Godsalm Camoys |
Who are we missing? It shouldn't be a problem just to bot them if its a temporary thing.. I dont know of many players that would object to that.
As for the xp, I think that leveling the group as we move through the books would be the easiest way to handle things for all parties. Then you (GM) don't have to keep track of who killed what or if these characters participated when etc.
As for myself, sorry for the late post.. today was all kinds of screwed up that ended with a trip to the ER with my son. Gotta love little boys.... *facepalm*....
Also, it may speed things up a bit if you roll the initiative at the outset, and post a turn rotation.
master_marshmallow |
Okay, our decision then is that someone will control an AFK player, and we won't be using the XP system.
Since there isn't an XP system, a lot of things change, there are much less incentives to go side questing as a player unless you get something for it. Should I look into the Fame system and others from Ultimate Campaign, or would it be better to just play through the book?
Andrezi Zeldana |
I don't have an opinion either way on the XP front, really however you would prefer to handle it.
I agree with Godsalm on the initiative comment.
I am also perfectly fine with characters being DMPCed for short periods to keep the game moving.
Godsalm Camoys |
Looking at the group that we have and the amount of RP we have going, I dont think that the problem will be NOT going on the side quests, rather, it may end up being that much harder to keep us on the right path! In the end, I think that it may be up to you to "herd" us occasionally.
Daelric Morieth |
Hmmm, seems like everyone is most active while it is night time for me. I am in England; just so people are aware, in case I end up slowing things down because of that.
I don't mind being GMPC'd, Daelric is easy to use. He will stand next to a friend and either attack their attacker or if they are near death try to protect them with Aid Another.
Daelric Morieth |
I shall post this now as it is almost time for bed to go to bed. My turn will be as follows :
Enemy is not near me : I take my shield off of my back (Move Action) and strap it to my arm (Move Action), then step towards the enemy (5 foot step).
Enemy is next to me : I take my shield off my back and attack with my Axe. Attack (1d20+4), Damage (1D10+3). If I need to move 5 feet to the foe, take the shield off, use a 5 foot step and then attack.
My stat block under my name is calculated without my shield, so if I equip then my AC and Flat Footed AC will increase by 2.

THANK YOU!!! Figured it out finally! Also worked inn some of the details I had come up with to flesh out his character for another recruitment that I didn't make the cut on. But, included here as it could help understand him
Daelric Morieth |
Good thing it is going for me really, I am the tank after all. This encounter is just helping Daelric decide to get Heavy Armour as soon as he can. Plus I think Daelric has the highest Hit Points out of the group, so makes even more sense for me to take the hits.

Was on the road myself - genealogy presentation about 90 miles away...backon the road to a dinner with my girlfriend for our 1 year. Checked in between road trips. May be able to check later this evening. R
Daelric Morieth |
No worries, hope she had a good time.
If the map is not correct with the location of the Goblins, they my attack shall change still. If there is still a Goblin next to me, all that will change is that I will not charge, but just attack. So decrease my attack score by 2, but increase my AC by 2.
Daelric Morieth |
Volkar, I am confused about 1 thing, how come you have 15 HP?! I thought I was high with the D10, favoured class bonus and 3 Con modifier, yet you are still higher than me?
