Andoliesa's claw slashes the dragon's scaly skin open and a line of blood bubbles forth. It gives out a strange rumble - maybe of pain, maybe of rage.
Nearby, a man with ears that fall to his feet fights against the crowd, calling out, "No, don't hurt Wrecker. He's just a baby! He doesn't know what he's doing!" The push of the crowd moves him backward and he struggles against it. It's clear that the man is crying.

"Ummm... we won't kill him!" Takashi promised, fervently hoping it was true, "And I can heal him and any others injured... if there aren't too many... and the injuries aren't too bad..."
Waiting to see what others are doing before posting my next move.

Tchucko hears the worried man calling out to not injure the creature, and he stops reaching for his crossbow and instead dips his talons into his spell component pouch and removes a live cricket. He turns his thoughts to rest and tries to calm his inner emotional state, calling upon his magic to put the "baby dragon" to sleep.
Casting Sleep so that it only targets the "baby dragon". He'll need to make a DC 14 Will save (at a -2 penalty because of my Hypnotic Stare) or fall asleep.

The Baby Dragon - Round 2/3
Pazacku, Takashi, Tchucko, Chack-Qetchack, Andoliesa, Dekarin - Your turn!
Baby Dragon!!! SO CUTE
As Pazacku strikes the dragon with his scabbard, the hit sort of... bounces off the dragon, clearly not injuring it. However, the dragon does managed to quickly grab onto the scabbard - not long enough to do any real damage, but definitely long enough to cover it with slobber.
Tchucko, sleep is a one round cast. It'll take the entire round for it to take effect. Would you like to cast that spell still or do something?

![]() |

Uncertain of what he could do to help, and not thinking he should spend more of Desna's grace at present, Takashi just stands about for a moment, seized with indecision.
Takashi is... not doing anything useful this round. I'd still go for Sleep, Tchucko!

The Baby Dragon - Round 3/4
Pazacku (0/11 and grappled), Takashi, Tchucko, Chack-Qetchack, Andoliesa, Dekarin - Your turn!
Baby Dragon!!! SO CUTE
Panotti continues crying as the baby dragon lashes out at Takashi again. "Wrecker, no no no, stop that Wrecker. Wrecker they're going to kill you" he says, pulling his ears tight around him as though it's a comfort blanket. His voice reaches a high pitch on his final words, underlining his desperation.
The creature manages to lash up and hamstring Takashi Pazacku dealing 11 points of damage. The drool from its mouth sinks deep into the wound Fort save, please, covering the considerable amount of blood with its own slobber. Its bite clamps down on Takashi Pazacku, keeping him firmly in place and grappled.

Pazacku slashes his katana across the baby dragon, slicing open a large section of its side. However the creature continues to hold on to Takashi's limp body with its jaw, clearly not willing to give up just yet.

Lunar Sloth |

WAIT I MESSED UP BIG TIME.
Those attacks were against Pazacku (who's been actively attacking it). So, it's Pazacku who's taken 11 hp damage, is grappled and needs a fort save. Not Takashi.

Lunar Sloth |

Pazacku, if you want to keep your hit and go unconscious after that action, you can. If you want to choose to do something else, you're welcome to do that as well.

Now I am really confused. How did I miss when I potentially crit with a 18-20, and I rolled a 19. Then with an a 24 to beat the AC, which we have been hitting it with less. Then I confirmed it with a 23, again we have been hitting it with less.

Tchucko curses as his attempt to put the creature to sleep fails. He reaches back and grabs his crossbow, realizing that he's going to have to get physically involved in this fight.
He takes a small step to the side and looses a bolt at the "baby dragon".
Five foot step and draws crossbow with a move action.
I'm not sure if I have a clear shot at the dragon, so just to be on the safe side I'm taking a -4 penalty for cover. If I'm wrong to do that, please ignore it. :-)

Sorry, Pazacku. For whatever reason yesterday, I kept mixing you and Takashi up. Teaches me to try to update while multi-tasking. Your crit confirm hits and gravely injured the creature, but it was still standing. However, now that Andoliesa has gone...
Beaten down and barely standing after Pazacku's deep, biting cut, Andoliesa's bit is more of a mercy than anything else. It gives an unsteady step, as through looking to flee. However, that step is more of a wobble and it collapses before Andoliesa. As it falls, its jaws relax and Pazacku's leg is freed.
The man runs fowrad out of the crowd with a howl and cradles unconscious dragon in his arms. "Wrecker, why did you do that? Why?" Tears flow down his cheeks and onto the tightly packed dirt.
You are out of initiative! Pazacku is unconscious (please give me a stabilization check) and the dragon seems to be alive still.

Tchucko pulls out a wand from his belt and rushes to Pazacku's side.
"I can't use this, but if any of you can activate this wand we should be able to heal Pazacku and Wrecker."
I'm happy to use my Wand of CLW, but I can't activate it.

Pazacku looks up at andoliesa from the ground."Did we manage to get him down and not kill it?"

Andoliesa glances at the breathing, unconscious Dragon and nods. Then stands up and turns to the long eared man. "Explain to me how this could happen!"

"It's... not normal for umm, Wrecker to do this, right?" Takashi says, trying for a more conciliatory tone. "I think he's still alive, so... if we can get him back in his cage, I could do a bit of healing for him, and for anyone in the crowd who got hurt..."
Diplomacy (if needed): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
I figure I can spare a channel for this.

The man sniffs and says, "No, of course not. Normally Wrecker's real polite. Someone must've riled him up. There's no way that he should've been able to break that cage open!"
He cradles the unconscious dragon's head in his lap, running his fingers over its head.
"Thank you for trying not to kill him. He means a lot to me."

![]() |

Chack-Qetchack goes to inspect the cage. He is interested in any evidence or traces of a burglary, which could confirm that this is not an accident but someone's evil will.

The lock on the cage has clearly been broken. A number of sharpened sticks lay nearby as well. Several footprints crowd around the bars.
The man sniveling and says, "I have no idea." He buries his face in Wrecker's neck. "It's okay boy. I'll nurse you back to health."
A moment passes as he begins to fuss for some gauze to bind the creature's wounds. "Thank you for sparing him," Panotti says as he sets to work, seemingly recovered from his outburst.
However, his dutiful care doesn't last long. A loud scream echoes from the midway. He looks up, as if to ask the party what that was.

![]() |

Pazacku reclaims his sword and scabbard and follows Chack-Qetchack

Takashi, feeling like he should do something for the poor man, raises his holy symbol. "Desna heal these wounded travelers," he prays.

Lunar Sloth |

As the scream echoes out, a Taldan noble comes striding out from a nearby tent. His eyebrows shoot up as he sees the panotti cradling the dragon and he rushes over. His hushed, chiding speech is hard to hear, but bits and pieces can be heard as most of the party rushes off to the midway. "Pharaden, what in the world is going on?" he says as he helps the panotti carry the dragon back to the cages.
The midway is somewhat deserted by the time you come to it; a woman stands crying and holding a slashed coin purse - a resident woman of the town. She's wearing the simple garb of a cleric and her tunic and stole are embroidered with the bow an arrow of Erastil.
"Calm down, calm down," she says. "It was only my coin, and Erastil cares little for minted gold. There is no need for such panic."
Several of the villagers argue. A man holds his son tight and shouts, "First they'll slice our purses, then they'll take our children! This is getting out of hand!"
Most of the villagers murmur assent with the man, though a few defer to the woman.

You've got it - she's upset she was robbed, but more upset by how the crowd is turning out.
The woman dries her eyes and says, "I am Sister Esrelda Woodmere. I had been collecting money for the church when my purse was slit. This man blames the carnival workers, but I do not think it's wise to jump to such conclusions."
She looks up at the late afternoon sun and shakes her head. "Perhaps it will be best to make our way to the final show for the day and to put this all behind us."

![]() |

Takashi hesitantly suggests, "Maybe... someone staged the dragon breakout so they could cut purses in the confusion? My father was always suspicious when trouble broke out, that thieves were behind it..."
Takashi didn't mention that his father was always worried about thieves.

Lunar Sloth |

Esrelda shakes her head, "I do not think this is time for idle speculation. After all," she glances at the man, "that tends to only lead to rash decisions."

"I, I, I didn't mean..." Takashi stammers, ducking his head in shame, "I mean, I didn't, umm..."
He looks desperately back and forth at his companions, hoping one of the more experience Pathfinders will take the lead and distract from his faux pas.

![]() |

"I think, what my friend was just saying was that the timing of both incidents seems a little coincidental." He looks over a Takashi tilts his head,"We just may have to do a bit more investigating before we come to a conclusion."
I am not sure if tengu could we or not, so I just had him tilt his head as a wink

![]() |

Tchucko mutters to himself... "This is a turning into a real mess..."
He walks over and puts a talon on Takashi's wing. "Don't beat yourself up, kid. You didn't do anything wrong."
He then says quietly so that only his fellow Pathfinders can hear, "Besides, I think Takashi's right. I've never been one to believe in coincidences. The 'dragon' attack is too convenient, and the lady who doesn't mind being mugged is off, too. Something weird is going on."
