Count me in.
So it looks like Tristain has an idea to make this fast.
So let's take care of Penance's list.
30.37 gp
Plus 349.5gp
379.87gp
-150gp for group pitch.
-1 gp for more arrows
-75gp for Longbow (no composites yet gotta save for that.)
-40gp for 2 Smokesticks
113.87gp left
Thoughts on more stuff?
Funny thing about Penance. I never realized how much I liked to talk with my characters before Penance.

No problems with the party's shopping list, but one modification.
Given the state of affairs in Korvosa and the calendar, any wands or items of healing, including potions, are incredibly difficult to find. Luckily for the party, Serry knows a fence by the docks, who can acquire the Wand of CLW, but the asking price is 800 gp. You will need to chip in the 50 gp difference.
Serry's Knowledge (local): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23

ohhhh yeah, the whole "gods are dicks" thing.
So Todor does or does not need the extra gold?

Serry Brannet |

Glad to be of service. :)
I think Serry will get that riding dog, unless someone objects. So 160 toward the CLW wand, 150 for the dog, 20 for a military saddle, that's 330. Plus 30 more sling bullets, 3 sp, and 5 gp worth of food for herself and the dog. So 388.5-335.3 = 53.2 gp left.
Lucendar, you ok with the dog? Or would that be too much to find quickly in the circumstances?

Todor Orban |

So Todor does or does not need the extra gold?
I don't currently need it as the first items I'll need are more gold than I have, but the 800 does divide easily to 160/each.
The one thing we are lacking in is the capability to deal with a swarm.
Todor will pick up 2 alchemist fire and 5 oil (40.5 gp)
That put's Todor at
Remaining starting money: 17 gold, 8 silver , 7 copper
Share of equipment = 100.3 gp each
Share of ingots = 240 gp each
Total 358.17
- alchemist fire & oil 40.5
- share of CLW wand - 160
New total = 157 gp 6 sp 7 cp

Elric is good gear-wise for now. Sorry about the radio silence, busy at work combined with prep for second round of a job interview. Will post IC soon.

With respect to Elric's interview process, it's been 3 days.
Can we move on without him? Especially when he posting with his other aliases...

Elric Rivers |

Hi guys, real sorry about the holdup. Life has been crazy busy lately. I'll try to keep up from here on out. (got the job, btw).

Elric Rivers |

Hi guys,
After careful consideration, I have decided to withdraw from this PbP. I feel that I'm simply not able to give it the attention necessary to match the high quality RP from both GM and the other players, and rather than do things half-a**'ed, I prefer to step back and give someone else a shot.
My decision is purely founded on personal reasons, and I have had great fun so far. But my new job will likely take much of my focus for a long while, and I must admit that even without it, being in five different PbP's at once is apparently over my limit. My post quality and frequency have been dropping for all of them for a while, and it is time to dial it back a bit.
Lucendar, this does not affect your Legacy of Fire game. I'm rolling back games one at a time, according to level of commitment.
Thank you all for a fun game so far. I'll definitely continue to lurk and see what crazy antics you get yourself mixed up in.

Fredrik |

I will miss you, and I wish you well. Let's see, when they're leaving is when you say the things that you didn't think would be appropriate before... Ah yes, I have an unnatural fondness for the lucerne hammer -- the PS character that I'm working on has one, of course -- and so I was inordinately pleased whenever you whacked something with yours. I'll miss that.

Fredrik |

I'll make this a separate post due to the edit bug, which I hear has still not been exterminated. Anyway, after posting that, I realized that Dasiji Lekaya would be a great fit, and it would a simple matter to adapt him into a non-PS character, and I like your game, and I'm only in one other (which is running kind of slow). So, I'd like to be up for consideration for a replacement, if it isn't too crass to say so soon.

Fredrik |

Oh dear. I thought it was just because I was on a borrowed computer, due to having left my laptop at work on accident. (Not the kind of place where you can get back in when it's closed.) So, bad news: it's not just your connection.
Dangit. Now I'm on a different borrowed computer plugged into the same network connection as I normally use, and same thing. The thread is in the forum list, with "Last post: Yesterday, 03:19 PM by Penance" -- but it might as well have been nuked, since it's empty when I click on it.

Yeah, it's somewhat gone.
I just posted to it by hitting "Add a new thread". You can see the older posts that exist when you're adding, but it definitely doesn't show up.
If this doesn't come back by tomorrow, we can ping Customer Service. All the posts are still there.

4d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 1, 5) = 17 --> 16
4d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 3, 2) = 13 --> 11
4d6 ⇒ (1, 2, 6, 2) = 11 --> 10
4d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 4, 2) = 11 --> 10
4d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 5, 3) = 14 --> 13
4d6 ⇒ (1, 2, 5, 1) = 9 --> 8
4d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 6, 5) = 17 --> 14
So 16, 14, 13, 11, 10, 10. Could be better, could be worse. Looking at an urban ranger (two-handed weapon style), possibly Varisian; also considering falconer, skirmisher and trapper for add-ons, with skirmisher and trapper mutually exclusive. (I'm tickled by the thought of a flamboyant gypsy with a big owl and polearms sneaking around like Batman or Blackjack, and the last thing the group needs is yet another divine caster.) Planning on going ranger all the way, since the group has a shortage of melee with Elric gone. It's taking me longer than I expected to refit that PS character's group role into a totally different milieu, so maybe tomorrow. Feedback welcome from whomever, since the Kingmaker pbp that I'm in is my first game since 2e.

Nicolae Lee |

A Varisian sits in a booth below a sign of a dead rat -- belly-up, stabbed, X's for eyes and all. To most, his swarthy skin, jaunty hat and neatly-trimmed mustache would seem at odds with his standard Guard-issue armor. A street urchin finds him where he hawks his services to those plagued by vermin, and whispers something. Nodding his head and taking up his polearms, he walks a few blocks to where a half-dozen young punks have started harassing the passers-by. "You look like trouble. I don't like trouble in these parts, and my old buddies in the Guard like not having to come down here. So either find someplace else to act tough, or I'll break your faces." He must have a reputation, since he never stops grinning and they never start, scattering as if out-numbered.
I feel like I'm forgetting something, so if you notice any discrepancies, please pipe up.

Fredrik |

Sweet! Made some minor tweaks ranging from fixing a typo, to adding that gauntlets can do lethal damage, to the biggest change: doubling the oil. He now has enough to go one day down, one day back, and pour four flasks on vermin in-between (in case they don't warrant expensive acid). Getting into this character's head has been quite the trip.

Lucendar |

Fredrik, if you're still interested in the game, you can make your introduction now. That is in fact Nicolae Lee. I just changed his armor and weapon for it not to affect the rping. We can say it was an illusion and he was in fact wearing scale and wielding a halberd, instead of leather and a greatsword.
Backstory: Pretty obvious from the rp - Your sister was previously involved with one of the Cow Hammer thugs (the guys who run the butcher's shop). She recently broke it off with the guy, named Karralo, and then she mysteriously disappeared during the riots. You did an intensive search of the city without luck and have now come to the butcher's shop, All the World's Meat, to try and find her and you are pretty desperate, as evident from the fact that you attacked an armed party of four.

Penance remains silent watching for enemies.
What's the plan, people? Waiting for you...
Crickey.
I'll get a post up tonight (I was hoping someone else would help steer/push), but I begin to think that we have the wrong group for Penance's character (Vow of Silence).
We just don't have enough loud/vocal pusher people in this group (I'll try and push but I need people to bounce off of) and not having Penance as a speaker, Serry posts irregularly, and I feel there is an inordinate RP pressure on me and Todor.
Penance, would you want to switch to a vow of loudness or something else to help address this?
Or maybe be more 'vocal' with your descriptions, movements, or gestures?

TarkXT |

Sorry but Penance is somewhat of a low key character by design. He really can't help all that much in terms of planning and diplomacy because in many ways he's still the street thug and merciless killer he was when he went to prison. PEnance's vow of silence isn't jsut a show of his repentance for past deeds it's impulse control. His impulse is to kick the door in, shoot everything that's holding a knife, reaching for a knife, or whose face he doesn't like, and twist the arrows in whoever's left alive to find out what they need to know. This idea of trickery and investigation is alien to him so he'll be going with the flow.
Beyond that I keep him low key so whenever I do make posts with long descriptions of actions and thoughts there's more meaning to them. Needless to say if Penance starts to get mroe animated he's worth paying attention to as it's not something done lightly. Sorry about the pressure even if Penance were a talker it wouldn't be much different.

Tristain the Chalker |

I'm not very experienced with PbP, so I second-guess myself a lot. Is that kind of RP post helpful? I appreciate constructive criticism when tactful.
At some future time, Nicolae, I'll want to give you feedback (and possibly respond to your other PbP post), but I want to see what you do now before offering any input.
I respect your desire to be a better player. I share in that. :)
