Penance is done in terms of raw mechanics. Still need to flesh out his backstory and appearance a touch. But beyond that he's good to go.
And away we go!

Just as a heads-up, I may not be able to post this coming Saturday. If I do, it'll be from my phone, so probably short. :)
Cool, our first fight! Let's see how it goes!

We'll see what happens.

We'll see what happens. And no good way to return fire. Yeah this one's going to be a mess.

Wow, neither Penance nor Serry can hit the broad side of a barn at the moment, never mind a mostly-in-the-dark crossbowman!

Uh oh...good round of rolling for me and the cleric is down! Getting tense the first fight...

Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to present - a classic Lucendar fight. I've lost count of how many times our Legacy of Fire group have found ourselves in situations like this one.
Well, seeing as Elric is now facing off three hobgoblins alone while wounded and prone, I'm feeling right at home.

You forgot the part where your archers are crippled and everyone's nearly blind.
Geez, even my summoned creature can't hit... dice do not like me so far!

I keep forgetting crap about my own character. i.e. Point blank shot adding to the damage and having a FULL Bab while flurrying. Doesn't make any difference now though
Tark, PB shot did not apply; no hobgoblin within 30'.

The marine gets out of the mud. Now, don't roll too good on that AoO, Lucendar. Any hit and Elric takes a nap.

EDIT: At least you didnt have to murder someone to sleep in for the night.
Since this is a kingdom-saving AP, in the spirit of such a grand plotline, I will be using Hero Points in this PbP (first time). There are a few differences between my HPs and the mechanic as listed in the Pathfinder_OGC online:
1. You do not start with 1 automatically
2. You do not gain 1 automatically when you level.
3. No HP-related feats allowed.
Other than that, the mechanic works the same as listed in the APG. You have to earn them with heroic behavior, great rping, etc..
And to start, Tristain, for venturing into the dark shadows all alone on a rainy stormy night, unaware of the dangers that awaited and rescuing the NPC, you receive a Hero Point.

;) Indeed you are ahead on the "suicidal actions" chart. Congratulations.
Don't worry Penance will never judge you. :)

"While I am sorry for your loss, I'm not sure if I would be of much use to you." I haven't played a non-good/heroic character in a while. This is odd but fun. I think Todor will find himself to be a bit of an adrenaline junkie though to help compensate for the lack of a heroic motivation to dash into battle.

Not true...if there really was a "suicidal actions" scoreboard, Elric would surely be ahead for voluntarily lying down in the mud so the hobgoblins had a better chance of skewering him with their swords.
Btw, I'm GM'ing my RL Kingmaker campaign tonight. Will try to find time to post before bedtime.

Tristain is for either staying or leaving the inn.
I'll give it a few hours before just pushing it to the morn.

Yeah, true, but the way I'm rolling, wouldn't matter anyway.
Thank you for your patience, guys. Work has been hectic this week!
As for Bones, he's a pc of mine in a pbp game that I withdrew from, but he was fun playing.

His intro was a great post!
Thanks, glad you liked it. I try to make it as "realistic" as possible or as much as you can, with a fantasy game.

I'm not sure if it was intentional or not, but I much prefer when you go ahead and roll initiative for us. Not only do you roll better than we do, but I think it moves the game along faster.
It was intentional. In big climactic fights, I like players to roll their own initiative. Not only does it put more control in your hands, it confirms you are caught up with the thread. I know some DMs roll initiative, saves, etc for the players but that to me feels like I'm playing by myself if I'm making all the rolls. I do understand your point about making the game go faster though. I will take it under advisement for the future. Thanks for the input.
If I keep rolling criticals, this will be a short fight.

Still not happy with my move yesterday, but fortunately Penance did well.
