So, thanks to some odd bits of my life finally starting to come together, I find I once more have some free time on my hands and that itch to run a game rising once more!
So, I am looking to pick up four players for a game of Dungeons & Dragons 5E, the adventure being the one found in the Starter Set, namely The Lost Mines of Phandelver.
For those wishing to play, I will ask for the following for the submissions:
~ Point spread of 15, 14, 13, 12, 10, and 8.
~ All core races as well as the Aasimar and the Eladrin from the DMG allowed. Variant Humans also allowed.
~ All core classes from the PHB allowed, as well as the recent additions of the Favored Soul and Spell-less Ranger from the most recent UA from WotC.
~ All backgrounds from the core rulebooks allowed.
~ All character submissions must have both a randomly rolled trinket (rolled here in recruitment) as well as a small written background for their character (please keep it open-ended and Realms friendly).
~ No evil characters
~ Submissions must be in by 21/04/15, and I will post the winning four later that day.
Also, please note that if players are really into it, I may extend the campaign out further, following up on loose threads of and kernels of possible adventure!

GM Aneirin |

I'm going to put this out there for folks wanting to submit, having forgotten to do so in the original post. This is the 'hook' that will be needed for the game:
Meet Me in Phandalin - The characters are in the city of
Neverwinter when their dwarf patron and friend, Gundren
Rockseeker, hires them to escort a wagon to Phandalin.
Gundren has gone ahead with a warrior, Sildar Hallwinter,
to attend to business in the town while the characters
follow with the supplies. The characters will be paid 10 gp
each by the owner of Barthen's Provisions in Phandalin
when they deliver the wagon safely to that trading post.
Please have a reason to be in Neverwinter as well as how you might know Gundren. He's a merchant with a small penchant for adventure who has two like-minded brothers.

Glad to be back, Aest. Yeah, went through a sort of crazy bout there, what with the engagement, some close calls in the family, workload doubling (we had a lot of people quit...) among other things.
Sorry to have popped off the way I did. Right now, just going to ease back into games by running this 5E game I ran IRL as well. Interested in joining Aest?

GM Aest |

I'm not in a place in my life where I can be joining more games. I've got a few family crises brewing myself, and I just dropped from several games yesterday to give me time to deal with them.
I was mostly letting you know that, if you feel the need to ease your way back into gaming, you're welcome to come back to either of mine. We can take this to PMs if you'd prefer.

Thanks :)
I've been doing some tweaking since my initial post to make sure I incorporated the trinket and Gundren Rockseeker. However, things should be fairly finalized now.
Just checked, and even better now! I like how you incorporated the brooch into the background.
Also, Vic, almost forgot with my last post but you do need to roll for a trinket as well to meet submission guidelines as well.

Adran Liadon |

Trinket roll: 1d100 ⇒ 80
A bronze pentacle with an etching of a rat's head in its center.
How do we do starting gear? Roll for money and buy? Get assigned money and buy? Or just bare bones from class and background?
This character was in one campaign that fell through. Let me know what tweaks you want me to make in his background. Right now he's kind of generic, but I can put him into the Realms easily enough.

From class and background. Sorry, should have stipulated that at beginning.
Also, like the solid build you got so far, though the background is a tad vague. Good all-around, though.

Here is the character, Deruvian. I wrote it already knowing the trinket, but the other rolls were made latter, just out of curiosity, but they were so accurate (specially bond) that I'm keeping all of them.
Routines: 2d10 ⇒ (4, 9) = 13
Personality Trait: 1d8 ⇒ 3
Ideal: 1d6 ⇒ 2
Bond: 1d6 ⇒ 3
Flaw: 1d6 ⇒ 5
I'm finishing the details now.

Trinket: 1d100 ⇒ 56 An old Key
Background:
Peren grew up within the High Elven enclave in Silverymoon. He trained in the use of weapons, specializing in wielding 2 short swords. He was also taught the basics of magic, and has already mastered a minor conjuration to help keep himself and his equipment clean and tidy. Once he had ‘graduated’ from his training, his teacher handed him an old, rusty key. He ask his mentor what the key was for, but the old elf just smiled and said ‘one day you will know’.
Peren always felt that his position within one of the older, noble houses gave him the opportunity to help those less fortunate than himself. His family did not share this belief, and many times he has embarrassed his family when he has acted inappropriately.
Peren left Silverymoon and moved to Waterdeep a few years ago. There he met a dwarf merchant named Gundren Rockseeker. The two have been friends and Gundren has occasionally hired Peren to act as a guard for rare shipments, so it was no surprise when he approached the elf with another proposition. He would guard a wagon of goods going to Phandalin. Gundren and his personal guard, Sildar Hallwinter, would travel ahead and be waiting at Barthen's Provisions in Phandalin, where they are to deliver the goods. Peren agreed and is now waiting for the rest of the guards to assemble before they head out with the goods.

Got the gear pretty much taken care of. I'm not going to have access to my various Realms books until I get off shift, so I won't be able to finish him up until some time tomorrow.
Anything in particular you need/want to know? I'm not a Realms expert, but I do have access to a large number of the books thanks to my collection and a friend of mine.
