Closely following Shi'Vatha's description of the ambush, Felicity questions him closely on any details that seem incomplete. After everything is laid out she turns to Corian, I think we can do this. I will remain by your side at all times. We don't want to expose you only ot find we are the ones being ambushed.

"I will be part of the ambush. I'm good at stalking and I can see in the dark. How do we wish to proceed?" Glornug asks, as he begins to check his equipment.

"Well, I don't have much to offer in the way of spells. I can increase the protection of a couple of people for a short amount of time, and I can force a projectile to hit someone not next to me. I can also nauseate someone, briefly. Although I'm not sure how that might help here. I could be the distraction, I know that Vortigern will want to go after the amulet at least. That's my thought, t least."

"Given some time to prepare, I can summon something of a second skin for myself. Shi'vatha looks at the morning sun. "We are half a day away, a morning to prepare, and then attempt it at dusk?"

"I think that we can do this. It's time to get that man out of our hair altogether."

Go Team Venture!!

It is agree then. We move out in a few hours and strike at dusk.

Male Drow Noble Accountant 12/Monk 10

Prepare to Fast Forward! Preparing to Fast Forward, sir! Fast Forward!

You make it to the location where Shi'Vatha indicated just before dusk. At this point, you are about 200 yards from the edge of the clearing (and another 50 feet beyond that to the rear right corner of the farmhouse that Shi' found yesterday.) Corian suggests that this be the retreat point, just in case.

I'll need Perception and Stealth checks from everyone. As a hint, Shi'Vatha can inform the group that the orcs seem to be very AD SQUIRREL!, so your stealth needn't be too high against them at least.

Echane:
As stated, it's about dusk when the party arrives. It will likely be a little bit before the fighting starts, so please let me know what your out of initiative actions would be.

Then sneak away. Basically giving everyone +2 from Aid Another, additional stealth checks below for this activity

Q for Felicity:
With your stealth check so low, do you plan to still move forward, or are you modifying your actions?

Answer:
I plan to stay next to Corian.

I would have no way, in game, of knowing the results of my stealth check.

Male Drow Noble Accountant 12/Monk 10

Corollary:
Not the actual number, per chance, but role playing it, you could say that your character, realizing that you were stepping on branches and leaves despite your best efforts, might realize that it would be better to stay behind a bit and protect the asset. In all seriousness for a moment, in my games, I make the assumption that the character knows how good, or bad, their rolls are, and play accordingly, particularly in out of combat situations. I'm okay with a character changing their mind on something based on a bad roll. So don't feel that you are stuck on a particular path. Just FYI.

GM:
Realizing I am making a lot of noise, I will remain further back. I don't want to ruin the ambush.

Male Drow Noble Accountant 12/Monk 10

Felicity:
OK Fair enough.

Felicity and Corian elect to stay back a bit to prevent giving away your location early. The rest of you are able to move to within 100" without raising suspicion. It looks like the orcs are sitting on their butts eating chow. There is a human, standing near a cold firepit (not lit), looking agitated by something. You are too far away at this point to make out what he is saying, but it appears that the orcs are not paying attention, so he might be muttering to himself. The only way to hear the human at this point is to roll at least a 35 Perception check.

Glornug:
You are able to spot a very large raven perched on the edge of the roof at the farmhouse, faced in the direction of the enemy camp. It is visible at this time.

Shi'Vatha was sneaking close enough to distract the orcs if need be, are the stealth rolls above close enough to get him closer than the 100 ft?

Male Drow Noble Accountant 12/Monk 10

Shi'Vatha:
Hell, with those rolls, you could dance with the human, practically. I can't roll above a 19 for Perception for the orcs, and the human is not much better. The only thing missing from your last visit here is the raven/imp. You can place yourself safely within 20' of the encampment and still remain hidden. At this point, you can see that the orcs are eating...something; better to not ask what 'it' is that they are having. You are close enough to the orcs and human that you can make a DC 18 Perception check to make out what the human is saying.

Male Drow Noble Accountant 12/Monk 10

Follow Up for Shi:
I believe that mentioned this before, however, if not, then you see 3 orcs, plus the human, in the camp.

Shi'Vatha sneaks back to the group, and whispers.

"There are 3 orcs, and the caster. The caster is upset because Corian is not here yet. I cannot find the raven around. We must take out the raven first. Otherwise the demon may intervene and attack us from behind."

Unable to get anyone to even respond, or plan any last minute adjustments due to the raven, their primary target, not being here, Shi'Vatha sighs in frustration. "Fine, whatever. Hide here, I'll lead them over."

Shi'Vatha then sneaks back to the camp, and when he can, charges out of the underbrush and bites the mage. The next action is a full on withdraw, leading the orcs and mage into the ambush.

Totally missed it in the spam. If I'd known, I would've said. Given this bit of information, on subsequent rounds, I will be hunting the bird, specifically. If I get the chance to do so without giving myself away, I'll alert the others to its presence.

Male Drow Noble Accountant 12/Monk 10

Glornug: Since you have already spotted the bird, you can use your surprise action to fire on it, if you wish. You can also alert the others (less Shi'Vatha) on the surprise round as a free action.

Even accounting for the surprise round, you just missed.
