Shi'Vatha |

Shi'Vatha doesn't try to do stealth, so he keeps to clearer bits of the woods so the orcs and Vortigan can see him. He moves only a little faster than the orcs, so they can keep up with him. He leads them toward where everyone is hidden, waiting to ambush them as they run past.
Perception: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (3) + 12 = 15

Lord Manticore |

The raven spots Felicity and begins to squak, just as an arrow slices through its wing. The force of the blow, as well as the surprise of the shot, is enough to knock the bird off from its corner perch, onto the ground below. It will start the next round in the prone position.

Corian Smither |

Corian casts magic missile on the bird, as the squaker is falling off the side of the building.
Dmg, magic missile: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Raven hits the ground as an imp, dead on arrival.
All of you hear a scream from the campfire as Vortigern doubles over.

Selene_Shadowvar |

Selene waits, concealed in the shadows that envelop her.
Stealth: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11

Shi'Vatha |

Sounds like we have to wait for the orc's to go

Lord Manticore |

Enemy Actions:
Orcs: After pausing for a second, they go back to Vortigern (after all, he is their paymaster) and check on him.
Vortigern: Writhes in agony while the orcs surround him. The orcs do not understand what has happened, as he does not appear to have any other wounds, besides the bite mark.

Shi'Vatha |

Shi'Vatha grimaces. Nobody does as they are supposed to.
He turns and goes back and bites an Orc for being smart enough not to fall into his trap (or too stupid to fall into it).
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25
Damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

You manage to bite into 'Orc 3' I'm sure he has a name, but since neither one of us can pronounce it, Orc 3 it is!. It screams in pain, and then falls down, either unconscious or dead.

@Glornug: I did acknowledge your hit on Orc 1, but I see that the forum glitched and did not post my acknowledgment.

Lord Manticore |

Enemy Actions:
- Vortigern: Free Action: In an anguished wail, Vortigern says to his remaining orc, Spoiler:Shi'Vatha can hear him clearly, the rest of you need a DC 15 Perception check (Echane, DC 18); Standard Action: Vortigern goes from 'on his knees' to a standing position; Move Action: he pulls a pouch from his belt and starts to open it."They're here, you morons. Find them and kill them!"
- Orc 1: Attempting to stand from the prone position.
- Orc 2: Turns around to face Shi'Vatha. He will swing his battleaxe at him.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18...and misses.
- Orc 3: He is bleeding out this round.

Lord Manticore |

Duly noted, Echane. What you see taking place is at the edge of the forest, on the other side of the clearing from where you are at. You see a man, trying to stand up, reaching for something, likely on his belt. You also see an orc standing next to him, swinging an axe at something that you can't make out from here. If you take a full round to run, you can be at ~100' from the man next round.

Shi'Vatha |

Uhm, I'm seriously confused. How can Shi'Vatha be 15 or 20 feet from all the orcs... when he just bit one, and they didn't move?

That should have read "0-5' from the orcs. I've been having Wi-Fi problems all day (I blame the Germans beating us in World Cup), and apparently, I missed the last correction. My apologies.

Shi'Vatha |

If Shi'Vatha is within 5 ft of the orc standing up, he'll take an AoO.
Bite: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9 Ugh, well, maybe it will hit with the prone penalties
Damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Shi'Vatha then 5 ft adjusts to attack the Wizard again.
Bite: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22 Who, being on his knees, is still prone :)
Damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

You missed the orc by 1 point. You did however, take out the wizard. Before he can fully stand, he falls face first into the dirt. The formerly prone orc readies his weapon for the next round. You have 2 orcs left.

Lord Manticore |

OK, make that 1 orc left...
I don't know why you guys have to go and shoot up my poor orcs! *sniff.* It's not like they ever did anything to you. They're simple creatures (really, I'm looking at their stat blocks, rabbits have more intellect), you should just let them run free. Now excuse me, I'm going to go blow my nose, and I think there's something in my eye. *sniff* ;p

Shi'Vatha |

Shi'Vatha is of the opinion that if the orcs are willing to kill children, and have done so, then there is no use offering mercy to them. He may have traveled with a Paladin, but he's not a Paladin.

Shi'Vatha |

Shi'Vatha would attack again this round if he could. :)

Shi'Vatha |

Not sure how Shi'Vatha keeps ending up 20 ft from Vortigern, considering he bite him last round
Shi'Vatha bites the last orc.
Bite: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
Damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

Selene_Shadowvar |

Are the orcs running or something? Selene was 85' from Orc 2 last round and moved 60' towards them.

Lord Manticore |

Are the orcs running or something? Selene was 85' from Orc 2 last round and moved 60' towards them.
Aww crap, I totally missed that. You are within 25' and can easily see the orc swinging at Shi'Vatha, as the 'taur takes a bite out of crime.
@Shi'Vatha: The orc grunts in pain, but is still up. He takes another swing at you...ouch, that's gonna sting a bit!
Attack, Battleaxe: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
damage, battleaxe: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9

Selene_Shadowvar |

Selene moves to the nearest orc and slashes it with one of her claws.
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
Damage: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

Shi'Vatha |

HP : 3/12
Shi'Vatha growls defiantly at the last orc. "You kill children, you die..." He tells it in a cold dreadful voice.

Glornug |

I assume Selene's attack finished the orc that Shi'Vatha hit, but just in case it didn't, here's an attack:
Bow: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 191d6 ⇒ 1
If it is dead, then Glornug will instead move up to the scene of the fight.

Shi'Vatha |

Shi'Vatha moves from corpse to corpse, taking one of the orc or Vortigen's dropped weapons, and calmly cuts the heads off. Pulling the heads into a pile, he makes a holy sign with one hand, and then says a prayer to Muir to watch over the corpses and prevent them from rising, and to also see to it the souls receive whatever punishments they earned.
When he's done, he begins cleaning himself, liking the blood from muzzle, hands, fur, and otherwise grooming himself fastidiously. "Did we get the demon and I missed it? This was much easier than I expected. I would be careful searching the bodies, there may be demonicaly influenced items."

Glornug |

"I think we got the demon, yes. At least, the bird turned into something else as it fell from the roof." Having said that, Glornug bows his head for a moment and whispers a prayer of thanks for the chance to hunt, and for his safety and that of his companions.

Corian Smither |

Corian grimaces as the heads are chopped off and put together. He nods in understanding as Shi'Vatha says a prayer. Turning to look at everyone, Corian takes a breath and says, "Thank you, one and all. Vortigern likely deserved what he got for making pacts with demons and whatnot." Looking around, and seeing the bodies still out in the farm yard, he continues. "Perhaps we should bury the bodies before we head to Fairhill?" He looks to the party for opinions.
