1d20 ⇒ 8
1d20 ⇒ 15
1d20 ⇒ 6
1d20 ⇒ 14

hmmmmm...... *looks around suspiciously*

I say you sacrifice a real d4... its the only way to be sure.

Keane's turn?

RP Only

I'm going to do my best to move up into flanking position on One-Eye, without provoking an AOO, or slipping in grease.

UPDATE: It appears that I attacked Bloodjaw (see next post)

Attack: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 6 + 2 = 20

Damage: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (2, 2) + 4 = 8

Rav's Turn.

Keane deals Bloodjaw a mighty blow, but the gnoll leader fights on, staggering under his own blood-loss.

Rav, Olivier, then the fleeing Havelock

Initiative
Thom - 26
Keane - 23
Rav - 22
Olivier - 22
Havelock - 21
One-eye - 18
Lureene - 13
Bloodjaw - 12
Shorty - 7

I'm assuming Thom and I flank Bloodjaw, if not, knock my ATT down by 2.
Rath launches an all-out assault on Bloodjaw, fearing the threat they can't see more than their obvious opponents. Who cast that illusion? It wasn't any of these fellows.

Full Round Action - Flurry of Blows (hand) + Stunning Fist on #1:
Stunning Fist - Fort Save DC:13
To Hit: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 3 + 2 = 16
Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

effects:
A defender who fails this saving throw is stunned for 1 round (until just before Rath's next turn). A stunned character can't take actions, loses any Dexterity bonus to AC, and takes a –2 penalty to AC. Constructs, oozes, plants, undead, incorporeal creatures, and creatures immune to critical hits cannot be stunned.

To Hit: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 3 + 2 = 8 (Possible ATT bonuses if Stunning Fist works)
Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

Bloodjaw just catches the monk's blows on his armored sides... somehow withstanding the double-team.

We'll assume you and Keane are actually flanking Bloodjaw, and Thom can be the odd-one-out

Olivier

Olivier

I think Keane said he was going after One-Eye, so it is just me and Thom on Bloodjaw.

Given our ineffectual double-teaming... Here's what my next turn action will be: Rath reaches into his gi, pulls out and spools up his Mini-Gun, spraying 3000 Depleted Uranium rounds into the gnoll which cannot be killed!

Male Human Wizard 5

"This is a situation up with which I shall no longer put!!"

Move action: Olivier closes half the distance to One-Eye (20 feet).

Standard action: Cast Magic Missile 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

ok... i am fail. Apparently I shouldn't be trying to run a game while at work, even if it's a semi-easy day. Here's what really happened

The lance of arcane power slams into ONE EYE's head.

Apparently every time one of you attacks One Eye, i read Bloodjaw. I thought Keane's attack was on Bloodjaw because the dwarf couldn't cover that amount of ground and attack. At this point, can we just put Keane's (successful) attack on Bloodjaw and move forward? And if you refreshed quickly enough to think you saw Bloodjaw die to a magic missile from Olivier.. well... you didn't. THat was... um... something else. So let's just gloss over that one, too.

Who let me run one of these, anyway?

Havelock, you're up. Shorty's down, Bloodjaw's bleeding profusely, and One Eye is menacing the beautiful Lureene.

Well I was looking forward to hauling out that Mini-Gun... :) I'm totally good with the three of us tag-teaming Bloodjaw. Sorry if I sounded nit-picky. I thought maybe Keane had something specific in mind when going after One-Eye. No offense meant.

Edit - whups! I posted too late it seems regarding our tag team but my apology still stands.

none taken.. i'm just flustered for having mis-read one of you guys not once... but twice in a span of 30 minutes...

and read that above again... Bloodjaw's not dead!

With Thom's and my crappy rolls, I'm hoping Bloodjaw crits himself... it's about the only way he is going to die. Curse you dice Gods!

RP Only

You are up, Havelock

Wait, is it the third turn already? If not, I've already posted my action(Run out of the flames). If it is, I'll start summoning a Fiendish Riding Dog Also, if it's the third round, Pythia will probably show up at Initiative 6.

To keep things simple for me (which i apparently need today) just post Pythia's actions on the same initiative as you... as in, right now, and yes, it's the third round.

Alright.

Havelock pauses his chanting only to shout out a command in Abyssal to the snake barreling down the stairs. It charges out into the common room and bites at the nearest gnoll.

Alright, if Pythia can get within 10 feet of either of the gnolls by moving 20 feet, she will. If she can't do that, but can charge at one of them, she'll do that. If neither of those work, she'll just move 40 feet closer. Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 171d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

If that hit, grapple attempt: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21

The giant snake drops down off the stairs, and finds its way over to the hulking gnoll. It's white fangs flash out, drawing blood, and One Eye finds himself being coiled in the snake's grip, but after dropping his net, he gains control of the creature.

Standard: One Eye grapple on Pythia 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26

Lureene's up

Lureene eyes gleam with an evil spark , as she moves in for the kill. Touch One-Eye, touch attack 1d20 ⇒ 19, damage 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12. I assume he is flat flooted because of the grapple?

Not flat-footed, but you hit him anyway

The sinister touch of Lureene causes One Eye to reel, but he remains on his feet, staunchly refusing to fall to these inferior beings. Across the room, Bloodjaw lashes out again at his attackers, targeting those who seem competent at all with their weapons. meaning Rav and Keane And yells out a command in gnoll.

If you speak Gnoll

:
Fool! Forget the snake... GRAB THE GIRL!

Full Attack
Axe attack on Keane 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24; damage 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
Knife attack on Rav 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25; damage 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

Crit confirm on Rav 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12; damage 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

Keane takes 11 points of damage, and Rav takes 8

HP 20/20 :: AC 18 :: +5 Perc, +3 Init :: Fort +2 Reflex +5 Will +1

Thom, fearing for Rav's life, disengages momentarily to speak a healing word for the monk.

Free Action: 5' step away from Bloodjaw but still next to Rav
Standard Action: Cast Cure Light Wounds on Rav 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

Keane's up

RP Only

Targeting Bloodjaw, aiming to make him resemble his name a little more.

Attack: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 6 + 2 = 20

Damage: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (5, 1) + 4 = 10

Has Bloodjaw gone to that hyena pack in the sky?

The dwarf's blade slings an arc of dark blood across the wall, and the body of the warrior slumps forward, pumping blood from what was his jaw. i guess it was gonna happen with a name like that, huh?

indeed he has. hey, if all dogs go to heavan, does that include hyenas? i mean, they're dog-like.

Rath is staggered by the gnoll's vicious strike. Luckily the blade skitters off his ribs, taking some meat with it, instead of puncturing his lung.
In a fog, Rath hears soothing words from Thom and instantly feels strength flow back into him. He clenches his hands into iron-tight balls prepared to drops hammer-blows on the gnoll's bloody snout... only to see, when the fog clears, the fell handed dwarf grinning over what remains of Bloodjaw. These are handy men to have around! Rath spares a quick nod to both men before going after the towering One-Eye.

Move Action - 30' (trying to get to One-Eye), if I get in range:
Standard Action - Single Hit (hand):
To Hit: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10

Bring the funk, bring the NOISE, Olivier!

One Eye is about 60 feet from the three of you. Take two move actions to get into melee with him? Or one move and a shuriken throw?

Tale-Spinner Eben wrote:

Two moves. At the very least, I may be able to distract him or set up a flank for one of the others.

Male Human Wizard 5

"Have at thee, dolt!!"

Move action - close the 20 feet.
Standard action - cast Shocking Grasp on his shield arm (touch attack) 1d20 + 3 + 2 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 + 2 + 3 = 24
Free action - cackle hysterically!
Damage - 2d6 ⇒ (6, 5) = 11

Blue lightning races up the war sleeve, and as the smell of ozone and burnt hair permeate the room, One Eye's one eye rolls up in his head, and he also collapses…. brilliant blue arcs of electricity occasionally jumping from his body. The snake gives Olivier a frustrated flick of his tongue, off of which a tiny spark jumps.

Good job, all… now for searching the bodies

A cursory search of the body will reveal that they basically didn't have much on them except a handful of gold, their weapons, armor, and a note stashed in Bloodjaw's beltpouch.

The now-bloody note reads:

Bloodjaw yes, that was his actual name,

I have a job for you. The Rat called in a favor, so after this, my debt to him is paid. In a peculiar bar named Limbo, you will find a girl named Lureene. She is a light-haired, fair-skinned human-looking woman with wings. Bring her to me, but do not kill her. Any methods to accomplish this are fine… so long as she remains alive and intact. The Rat said you would need special equipment to handle some of the occupants, so I've procured you some weapons… hope you enjoy them. The scroll attached will make you all invisible as well as cast an image of me in front of you to distract whomever is in the room. Just light it on fire, count to ten, then go retrieve the girl.

Do not fail me, Bloodjaw.

Scarlet

Thus concludes the excitement... let's hop back over to the Limbo thread and wrap this stuff up. Someone wanna do a fight summary over there, as well as post the note?

oh yah, and sorry for all the dm flubs.. it was my first go

Olivier wrote:

I think you meant 'jolt' not 'dolt' - what with that damage roll! Way to bring the noise, O.

Keane frantically searches for more foes to splatter - his eyes lock onto One-Eye just long enough to see him silhouetted in a halo of blue electric death. He lowers his blade, and looks a bit sad that his fun has ended so abruptly.

"Weel..." he sighs, "aye geese thus eet. Nees teem, uh woan keel em so fust."
