Kaleena and Damiel notice the ground starts rumbling when they enter the room.
Glorin: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Kaleena: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22
Dorn: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
Damiel: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Therin: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
The ghostly image of a young dwarven woman in a breastplate appears in the room, shuffling nervously and looking from side to side while holding an axe in her hand. Everyone acts before the ghost.
Kaleena Boomstick
|
Kaleena looks in the room, sees the spectre... and says "Ummm... Yeah... Well pardners...I do not do ghosts... so bring up someone that can do positive energies..." and she backs away to let someone else take out this foe as she searches her pack for some holy water...
Mustaparta
|
Therin knows that haunts are usually damaged by holy energy.
The woman clearly recognizes her name and turns to look when Dorn calls to her. Suddenly you witness a horrifying sight as a ghostly bulette leaps from the ground and pulls the dwarf below. Roll a DC 16 Will save or become panicked and flee in fear for 4 rounds; creatures that succeed at their saving throws are only shaken for 1 round.
Dorn Gritstone

Will save, +1 vs fear: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 3 + 1 = 13 Even if some of my other bonuses apply I don't think I could get it to a 16. Runnin' time!
Panicked for...?: 1d4 ⇒ 2
The scarred dwarf's expression shifts to sudden terror. Without a word to his comrades he turns and flees back the way they came.
Kaleena Boomstick

is the ghost on the map?
Kaleena sees Dorn run away and not having seen that behavior from him in previous combats asks aloud "What is wrong with him?"
Mustaparta
|
No, this ghost is not on map. Module says the panic lasts 4 full rounds. Who else saw the haunt?
Kaleena Boomstick
|
Kaleena would have seen it and the impetus for her leaving the room.
WIL vs Fear: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
Kaleena also runs in fear after looking back at what made Dorn run away...
| DamieI Morgethai |
Will: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 14 "Run away, run away!"
Mustaparta
|
Therin, you are only one not in panic. What do you do?
Mustaparta
|
The ghostly energy is weakened, but not entirely suppressed. The dwarf is still attacked by bulette.
Everyone is up
Therin Baldaros
|
Therin grumbles as he tries to dispel the haunt.
ok...rules question...since i have the healers bonus from the domain ability, does the donus add when dispelling a haunt? i am unsure to be honest...will wait for a ruling...
Dorn Gritstone

Dorn runs....
As Damiel says, our actions for the next four rounds are locked in. And then four rounds running back. So I think it's just the Therin and Haunt show for the immediate.
Dorn Gritstone
|
Getting back into things, what do you need from me?
Obviously I am not our GM, but my guess would be: a will save vs the haunt to determine if you are panicked or not
Mustaparta
|
Up you mean, after we running around panicking for 4 rounds?
Ah yes, thanks for this reminder. You continue running for the duration. 6th level domain bonus does not apply to damage to undead so it doesn't apply haunts either.
Glorin also resisted panic. Therin manages to suppress the haunt, at least momentarily. As he finishes casting spell, thrumming chant of dwarven voices sounds through the hall, swearing, “We who are born with blade in hand.”
Botting: Glorin's will save: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16
While many of the valuables from the trophy rooms have been looted, a few noteworthy items have been left behind, including a +1 spear, a +1 light steel shield depicting a Taldan wedding, a mithral shirt, a slightly vandalized suit of masterwork half-plate, a masterwork longspear, a masterwork composite longbow (Str +4), and a bejeweled longspear sized for a pixie (worth 350 gp).
Glorin Too-Tall
|
Glorin looks the shield over. "Taldan? What are human goods doing down here? And a pixie's spear? Are these spoils of war, or something?"
Kaleena Boomstick
|
"Is... it safe... to go back...?" Kaleena asks after running away. She then returns to the room and checks to make sure she still has all her gear.
Glorin Too-Tall
|
"It's safe, Therin got rid of the thing," Glorin calls back down the hall. "We got all your stuff still right here, and a bit more," indicating the treasure.
| DamieI Morgethai |
Luckily, Damiel have no weapon to drop when he panicked, but he will keep good distance to the haunted place and let the holy one deal with it
Dorn Gritstone

Sorry for the quiet, been having some RL medical issues.
Dorn makes a very sheepish way back to the chamber where the haunt had manifested. He picks up his axe in a sullen silence.
"None'a that ever happened," he growls to no one in particular. "Didn't run.."
With his weapon in hand, he makes his way to the chapel, and looks the door over dourly.
Perception for traps on door: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (6) + 15 = 21
If he sees no trouble, he opens it.

Door is not trapped. An anvil-shaped altar stands prominently at the northeastern end of this chapel. A cold furnace is cut into wall behind the anvil, while tools of the forge lie carefully arranged about the worship space. A blacksmith’s apron lies across the anvil.
Roll a Sense Motive check DC 18 as you enter the chapel.
Mustaparta
|
Even though Kaleena stands farther away from chapel, she can feel otherwordly worship emanating from room. Moved tokens closer to where action is
The forge behind the altar flares to life, and the image of a dwarven girl—barely beyond puberty—appears beside the flames, hammering steadily as she melodically sings hymns to the Father of Creation.
Everyone has 3 rounds worth of actions and Kaleena has one extra round

Belated Sense Motive: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 = 13
Dorn looks somewhat abashed as he gazes upon a chamber of dwarven worship. He drops his eyes to the floor respectfully, and while he doesn't speak the words of the hymn, he sort of hums along low in his chest, in the manner of someone who hasn't been to church in a long time and is standing in the back pew kind of hoping not to be noticed too much.
Not declaring any specific actions for round 1

Kaleena looks around the room for possible targets and returns her gaze to the image of the dwarven girl.
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19
"Do we go in? Is this here some sort of trap? Or just some magikal display of sorts?" she asks the others. She enters the room towards a corner ready to shoot at anything threatening...

"'s a place'a worship," Dorm rumbles raspily, still standing by the doorway with his head bowed somewhat like a chastened schoolboy. "Have some respeckt!"
(No, he doesn't know what you should be doing, either.)
Glorin Too-Tall
|
Glorin shrugs. "I don't even know what I'm supposed to be looking for in here. I know I don't want to disturb someone during their devotionals, though. It's not an illusion, though, is it? Ghosts who worship are uncommon, but worship is worship."
No actions declared either

Singing along with the hymn requires a successful DC 12 Knowledge (religion) check or DC 17 Perform (sing) check. if you stay in the chapel for 3 rounds or longer, roll Fortitude save DC 17 or be fatigued.
Mustaparta

Thrumming chant of dwarven voices sounds through the hall, swearing, “By sweat and blood, we have come here.” After that you feel undead presence fade. That success also counts as success for the fort save. No loot here. Where next?
Kaleena Boomstick
|
"I didun know you had such a sweet voice there Therin." Kaleena says to the cleric after he soothes whatever presence is in the area.
Therin Baldaros

Well, after all the hymnals in the abbey, I picked up a bit from the others and got fairly decent at it. There is an abbess, Shyana...she truly has the voice of an angel. She was the one that led the hymnals and such.
