Question: What is this Number 6 thing, and whose instructions is it following?
Weyland Piper
"Shae! Anton! We messed up. Get out of here. Take care of the others."
Attack 1: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
Attack 2: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
miss...
Ref 1: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27
Ref 2: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19

Being otherwise useless Shae will be yelling directions and orders to the Ogre. I'll spend actions doing this as needed.
Sorry Shae, I rechecked your numbers, and while I had included the -4 for shooting into melee, I hadn't included the bonus for shooting a grappled critter. You hit.

no worries. I'm a low level Mage in a room where I can't cast. I wasn't expecting to be able to do much.

Feel free to call orders as a free action. You've done 12 damage already. As for the low level, feel free to go to 3rd. If you don't want to update your (scribed) spell list without a downtime I respect that though.
But yeah, this is a sucky encounter to be a spellcaster in. Sorry :(| Harakani DM |
[ooc]Okay - I don't believe a grappled creature gets an AoO when you use a withdraw action. Tarek is 15 feet away (difficult terrain).
Instead of attacking Tarek the Mimic concentrates on finishing Pepper. Mimic is no longer grappling.
Shae's bolt has struck home.
Mimic is on 53 damage.
Piper, Shaezon, Anton are up. Then Tarek. Then Mimic. Then 6.[ooc]
Harakani DM
Sure - difficult terrain makes it will take more time to get there. You can back up 15 feet this round while it is busy, which oves you out of its threat range.
Just to clarify - the shelves are enormous thick stone shelves, tall enough to stand up in, and stocked with large items (like statues, trophies, taxidermied animals and furniture). These provide cover if you are in the shelves.
This OK?

turn 2 recap
While the monster devours their companion Tarek calls out "Everyone backoff, 30 feet... It's time to shock the monkey!".
Tarek backs away while Weyland bolts for the shelf to take cover.
Taking advantage of the clear path Shae and Anton fire. Shae's bolt strikes home, Anton's just misses.
Seeing Weyland has moved the requested distance Tarek unleashes the lightning...
[/ooc]
Tarek - roll to hit AC 7 (5+2 for ranged) and 5d6 lightning damage
Harakani DM
Total damage: 56. Tarek, Shae, Anton and Piper are up. piper if you make a stealth roll you can get concealement. Tarek you may want to keep moving. Anton heavy crossbow needs reloading. Shae you don't need to spend an action to shout instructions. Shae, are you steering 6 to pick up a weapon, or topple the statue? The rug is not yet down.
Harakani DM
yeah, but check the map.. 6 is 65 ft of difficult terrain from the mimic - it's not even in quad-move range
Shaezon Silverfall

in that case I'll just direct him which way to go. I'm not entirely sure what's going on.
Weyland Piper
Just direct the NPCs to set up the rug and load the dragon statues. Weyland and Tarek will hopefully be able to keep mimic occupied without dying and give enough time to get the stupid things loaded up so we can get out of here.

"Scratch that. Just get the rug and load the statue." Shae says to #6 "Its to your right. Directing as appropriate"
Harakani DM
Tarek keeps evading the mimic and looking until he finds an appropriate projectile or thrown weapon.
Surrounded by improvised weapons of all shapes and sizes. Thought your ranged weapon detection was for #6.
Tarek can see an urn full of javelins ten feet to the west. On the shelves further on he can see a collection of high percentage alcohols that could probably be turned into Galtian molotov cocktails fairy easily.| Harakani DM |
Anton - I take it you'd prefer to be a light crossbow? I guess I'm okay with that.
The Mimic flows towards Tarek, but questing golden pseudopods cannot quite reach him.
the clearer line of sight allows Anton and Shaezon to both hit.
Double move (cannot quad move in difficult) for 10ft total. 66 total damage.
Anton Vitruvian
Ahh, sorry. I had forgotten which crossbow I had, and just thought it was the same type Shae used. I'll stick with the heavy and add it to my sheet.
Hvy Xbow dmg: 1d10 ⇒ 7

You guys are up.
Anton - using your crossbow from last round as this rounf.
Tarek - move action to grab a grenade, standard action to throw (assuming you are using your elemental attack to light it).
Shae - firing again?
Weyland - you're not sure if you're stealthed or it's just ignoring you. You can move at half (quarter with terrain) speed with cover to remain stealthed, or crawl (1 square per turn) without cover and remain stealthed. Can go faster at the normal penalty if you wish.

Not wanting to trigger the "alarm", Tarek looks for something to start a fire with.
Survival: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20
Guys, "fire" triggers the alarm, too... These things are useless. My kingdom for acid, alchemical lightning or a damned crossbow or bow. Shae, can you use a bow?
Harakani DM
"There you put certain of her treasures onto a pre-prepared cloth and activate a certain scroll. Activating any magic in the Vault should cause it to lock down, but the secret passage will remain open. If a spell doesn't cause it to lock down, then use fire. You take a potion to transform into Gillmen again, go back into the passage, swim back to the stables, and leave with me."
Damn - I'd forgotten about that. I'd meant a great big bonfire, but Tarek doesn't know that, and why would he risk it.
Hmmm. How's this...While speaking of the Alchemical Lightning Tarek realises that if the Kobolds had one bottle, they might have more.

"I'm an elf, so yes. Better than this (the crossbow) inelegant thing. "
