Old Coin: 364gp 2 sp 4cp
= 3,746gp 9sp 9cp
-550gp to have mwk chain barding commissioned for Spike
-500gp for Kereek to enchant the barding to +1
-500gp for Kereek to enchant Prazil's breastplate to +1
-500gp for Kereek to enchant Prazil's shield to +1
-1,000gp for Kereek to enchant Prazil's lance to +1
= -3,550gp net purchases
Prazil's remaining coin: 196gp 9sp 9cp
(Spike's AC is now 32! Wheeeeeeeeeeeee!)
EDIT: To Orin's question below, NOPE! I thought 3,380.75 was the combined/revised total. I'll add the 1,339.45 in as well =D

Orin Ro |

Prazil, did you count the 1339 gp, 4sp, 5 cp from the sale of the mundane items?

Kereek! |

Okay, Kereek will purchase for himself:
- headband of charisma +2 (4,000 gp)
- wand of identify (50 charges) (750 gp)
- scroll of glitterdust (150 gp) (going straight into the ring of spell knowledge!)
Leaving me with 1,717.75 gold. Prazil or whoever is welcome to borrow this if you need more things enchanted.

Agnar Hrolfson |

Kereek can enchant armor for you, Agnar. Since we have a year, all it takes is time and money. Kereek can create up to +2 armor or weapons.
The problem at the moment is the money. Once Agnar's procured the boots, then he'll come to Kereek for the armor enchantments. Still a bit shy.

Kereek! |

I'm actually well over. My stuff totals 31306.75 gp, with the ring of spell knowledge III topping in at 13,500 gp. WBL for 7th is 23,500 gp, so I'm well over that.
Which is why Kereek keeps trying to give money to Agnar! Take the gold, Agnar. Leave the breastplate. Or the bow. For 500 gp, Kereek can make you a +1 breasplate. For 3,000 gp, Kereek can make your bow +2.

Prazil |

According to my log for Prazil, I'm at 26,883.35 in gear/wealth value. Which puts me about 3k ahead of the WBL curve.

Orin Ro |

Orin has blown past the WBL chart, topping in at 48,683 (if Herolab is to be believed). The +3 ring and the sword account for most (26,375) of that.

Katerina, for combat, I like everyone to post their actions for the round before I post, though I do adjudicate them in roughly Initiative order (I will sometimes have someone delay, since of course you don't always know what someone else is planning if you post first).
I know that can be a little choppy sometimes, but I find I lose track and/or it slows things down when everyone just posts when their turn is up.

Orin Ro |

Sorry all for the lack of posting but this has been a rather bittersweet week. Despite winning a rather contentious election I was disappointed that not all of the candidates I was running with were elected. Only two of the five others were elected leaving our local with an even split between the two slates.
Yesterday we had to put my dog of 14 years down. She had developed cancer and was in pain and although she is better off my wife, daughter, and myself are still saddened by the loss.
I should be able to keep a decent posting rate for the next couple of weeks before I take office on March 1st, then my posting might become sporadic for a couple of weeks while we conduct a transition between the officers.

Shadowborn |

Ugh. Sorry about your dog. We have a 14 year old dog as well, and for the last few months she hasn't been doing well. Symptoms point to Cognitive Dysfunction Syndrome (basically "doggy dementia"). Not much to be done, as the only medication to treat it is expensive and not guaranteed to be effective. Just have to watch her closely and make life as comfortable as possible.
Congratulations on the election win, though.

:)
Just so ya know, Kat's gunna be blocking the first guy swinging at her. She hasn't used Power Attack this round, so her roll to parry will be at +17 :D If she is close enough, she will use a point of Panache to riposte and stick him back :) that'd be at +17; d8+8+6(precision). I say this so you can roll it out and have it in the narrative :)

I confess, breaking those walls is one of the most fun things I can recall doing in recent memory.
I am reminded of a universal truth I knew when I was 8: Dinosaurs are awesome.
Thirded.
Also, we might want to tie Prazil to Spike. I'm envisioning bad things if you ever fall out of the saddle at height...

Prazil |

Mott, I've been presuming that Prazil's ability to possibly spoil a hit on Spike won't work vs. a natural 20. For future reference, am I correct in that?
----
In a totally different vein, I hope the transition with all the officers goes smoothly for you Orin! And even though the final results split the slates, congrats again on your election!

Orin Ro |

Thanks, John. I wish I could say things are going alright but when the incumbent Vice President refused to stand next to the newly elected President during the swearing in ceremony and pictures afterward it's not a good omen. It's going to be a long three years.

Prazil |

Am I understanding the jist of things correctly?
A scholar of some possible repute has been studying the centaurs of Iobaria and came here to Varnhold to study the nearby Nomen centaurs thinking they might be an off shoot of an older northern tribe?
Do the Nomen inhabit the super ominious island too or just live in close proximity to it?

It appears he was drawn to Varnhold by a letter dated 2 months ago from Maegar Varn. The letter describes the discovery by a man named Willas Gundarson of the jade bracelet on the banks of a “river of local provenance” and requests Pendrod’s presence for further study of the artifact.
Among his studies, he seems to have highlighted this passage:
"And so it was, high upon the Torres and well above the Vale’s Stairs, where rises from the high water a stony isle of dire report. Known as Vordakai’s Island to those that do live thereabout, some legend of its name doth come down through the locals. For they speak of a guardian that doth destroy all who would set foot upon its accursed shores. They did name no fewer than a twelvecount of their hero-knights who had left their bones upon its rocky shores over the years after having tested their mettle against its dread warden, ’til none would any longer go there for fear of its hidden terrors. And the name of this terror was given unto this Island.
His note apparently to himself asks, "Vordakai—perhaps a Nomen centaur god?”
The legend indicates "a guardian that doth destroy all who would set foot upon its accursed shores" so likely the Nomen do not inhabit it.

In regards to Kat's DPR: The Swashbuckler is *exactly* what I wanted to see in a class; a strong melee fighter that is not "Falchion and Power Attack" or "some series of system mastery based exploits that no newb or even moderately experienced player/GM should know" :)
I think she is straight forward, capable and strong. She is not super awesome wrapped in bacon. She is *also* (and maybe more importantly) very characterful, not "Add a level of Monk* to get this whizbang ability"
*Monk, or what have you mixing up and diluting PERSONA for the sake of MECHANICS :)
