Orin Ro |

Sorry to see you go. Patrik. You were the last original character and I've enjoyed playing with you. Too bad as Orin was going to make an attempt to woo Treshiell during the downtime.
As far as recruiting another character I would be okay with another arcane caster or a roguish character.

Well, no reason I can't share it now. My impression was it didn't make the cut with the judges, not the voters, but we won't know until/unless they announce the Top 100:
Catapult Ring
Aura moderate evocation; CL 7th
Slot ring; Price 25,000 gp; Weight —
Description
Curled into a tight band, this tiny copper spring stretches to fit the wearer's finger.
As a standard action, the wearer can touch a creature or unattended object on a solid surface and fling it in a direct line away from him. The target arcs 30 feet up and 60 feet away, taking damage from falling as normal. A willing target may be launched as long as it is adjacent to the wearer, while an unwilling target requires a melee touch attack. A willing target may make an Acrobatics check as if it were deliberately falling and can land on or grab hold of an elevated surface in its path. This movement does not provoke an attack of opportunity.
A target that hits an obstacle in its path takes 3d6 points of damage before falling to the ground in that square. The obstacle also takes damage, as if it were hit by a falling object. Any creature or object occupying the square in which the target lands takes damage as if hit by a falling object.
A catapult ring has six charges, which automatically renew each day. Launching a Medium or smaller target requires one charge; a Large or Huge target requires two charges; and a Gargantuan target requires three charges. The ring has no effect on Colossal targets.
Construction
Requirements Forge Ring, telekinetic charge; Cost 12,500 gp

Hang on a tic...
Sorry to see you go, Patrik. Treshiell will be missed.
I'm okay now. Just needed to let off a little steam, let my Hitler out and have done with it. Given the overall quality of the Top 32, I'm not feeling totally crushed, but there's that tension that just needs to go before I'm ready to give congratulations.
The arcanavore was mine.
Wait? Exit poll? There was an exit poll? How did I miss this?

I'm not sure if Nick (or Chris? I forget which one did it) Wasko only sent the link out to people who sent him their keeper lists.
It's here.

Oh, I liked the first world sliver. Nice job, James.
Definitely a bit frustrated still, but it'll fade in time. I'm going to take another day or two to be upset, and then get back to actually doing/trying to get some freelance work. There are a few open calls out there right now that could be of interest.

You're the last original member of the group and I think Treshiell's been a wonderfully fun character. I'm glad at least that I still get to play with you in Savage Tide (at least I hope you'll stick around there longer). Best of luck with whatever you play next.
Yep, I plan on sticking around the Savage Tide game.
I'm quite fond of Treshiell myself but I feel that she became a ill fit for the game system. Also I'm not good at playing a caster. There's to much stuff to keep track of and I'm to much of a hoarder with resources to be effective. Feel free to use Treshiell in the thread should you find a good fit for her.

Sounds like we've wrapped up Book 2. Let me know if there's anything you'd like to do in the meantime (crafting? feel free to sell any loot and make any purchases). My plan is to pick a new player on Sunday and start introducing him/the third module on Monday (as a year will have passed between modules, I think we can handwave some of the introductions unless you all feel differently) ...

Prazil |

A year? That really helps explain how Spike gets so big! =)
Prazil will devote a good chunk of time to rearing the owlbear cub. Any way you'd prefer to handle that, Mott?
As for the new blood, brief introductions in the discussion thread should suffice. I think when we get past the year-long jump in the gameplay thread we can all hit the ground running.

Katerina the Maid |

Hello all!
I have been looking forward to getting Kat back into a PbP since her 'birthplace' was abandoned :)
I want to go back through and ready your play to date, and get an idea of where I can make an entrance!

Prazil |

Welcome to the team, Kat!
I gather our illustrious GM will have you join "off-screen" during the span of time between now (end of book 2) and when the gameplay starts again (start of book 3).
If you happen to arrive with moon radishes, moon radish seeds, or knowledge of moon radish groves in the area, Prazil will like you immediately. =)

Katerina the Maid |

Now, Prazil.I don't have any moon radishes. I haven't ever had any, either. But, if you want to go looking for them, I am sure I can help. What the heck is a moon radish?
Kereek. I've heard of you. Sly and, well, inflammatory. I look forward to our journey. Katerina seems to choose her words with care. Don't muck it up!
What is the current status of the (Barony?) and their relationship with the Swordlords? Katerina's background states that she is apprenticed to a Swordlord and has been sent south to look in on his interests.
Mott: I will do the 25pt upgrade when I get home; CON to 14 (HP to 66) and INT to 12 (Skill points :) ). I was thinking maybe to Wisdom, to help out with her abysmal Will Save :)

motteditor RPG Superstar 2014 Top 16, RPG Superstar 2012 Top 16 |

The barony currently has good relations with Brevoy and the Swordlords.
And, actually, while I had originally intended to have you have joined the party in the intervening year, you could actually work well in a different way that will let us have you meet the party as we get started, if you want. Either way is fine with me.

How can you tell the difference? Ba-dum-bump!
--
New post is up. You have plenty of time to update gear in the intervening year, so please feel free to do that in the discussion thread.
--
Katerina, to streamline combat, I think the best way to do it is for you to let me know when you want to use abilities like dodging panache and/or opportune riposte and parry. Because panache is a limited resource, I'll tend not to use it if I have to DMPC you until/unless I get a good feel of your character. In the meantime, feel free to give me an if/then and any relevant rolls when we get into combat

Katerina the Maid |

Not only is panache a limited resource, there are many abilities that you have to have one in the bank to use. So, if I am not available and a point could be used, there is no issue with using Panache as long as I have one Panache left :)

Orin Ro |

Yeah, I'm still going over our last two encounters and combing through the posts looking for what we found. Once I get the list compiled I'll post it on the loot list page.
Sorry if I've been lax on posting but I'm currently involved in a campaign for my union local and have been spending most of my free time out pressing the flesh. The votes will be counted on February 11th and either win or lose I'll be back to regular posting after that.

Prazil |

Hope the campaigning goes well for you, Orin!
---
Over the course of the intervening year, Prazil will spend a good bit of time rearing and training the rescued owlbear cub. According to the bestiary entry, it's a DC 23 Handle Animal check to rear a juvenile, which Prazil can achieve just by taking 10 if that's ok with you, mott?
The bestiary entry is, however, unclear on how quickly owlbears mature and what their typical lifespan is.
Regardless, Feather, as Prazil names the mighty beast, will hopefully become a reliable contributor to Thronehold's defense. =)
Also...
A typical triceratops is 30 feet long and weighs 20,000 pounds.
I think this is how big Spike will be when I take my first level in the Mammoth Rider PrC at level 10. =P

Kereek! |

WISHLIST!
Kereek would like a scroll of glitterdust (150 gp) to feed his ring of spell knowledge, a headband of alluring charisma +2 (4,000 gp), spellguard bracers (5,000 gp), or a staff of fire (18,500 gp).
Also, he would like the power to decide who lives and who dies.

Orin Ro |

I've updated the loot list and after selling all the mundane items everyone gets 1339gp, 4sp, 5cp.
There are still several magic items we need to dispense with. Here are my recommendations.
Horn of Good/Evil = Sell
Robe of Bones = Sell
Ring of Maniacal Devices = Sell
+1 Studded Leather = Sell
Amulet of Natural Armor +2 = Prazil or Orin
Dusty Rose Prism Ioun Stone = Kereek
Necklace of Fireballs = Kereek (fire's his thing)
+1 Darkwood Thundering Morningstar (large) = Sell
+1 Hide armor (large) = Sell
Potion of Speak with Animals x2 = Agnar and Orin or Sell
Restorative Ointment = Agnar
+2 Chain Shirt = Agnar or Sell
+1 Longsword = Sell
As far as items go Orin would like to pick up a mithral breastplate (magicked would be nice).

Agnar Hrolfson |

I'll take the restorative ointment. I've got speak with animals as a domain ability, so those can go to Orin if he wants them. I'll take the chain shirt, too. The dragonscale breastplate is fancy and all (with matching shield) but I'll go ahead and take movement for the same AC, at least until I can get them enchanted and buy some boots of striding and springing.
I agree with Kereek. The ioun stone should go to Prazil or Orin.

Orin Ro |

Orin,
Why don't you take the amulet of natural armor +2, pass your +1 amulet to Prazil, and Prazil can take the ioun stone? That seem good?
Either that or Prazil can take the +2 amulet and Orin the Ioun stone. The net result is the same.

Orin Ro |

Okay, after selling off the remaining unclaimed magic items everyone gets 3380 gp, 7 sp, 5 cp.
Orin is going to order a Mithral breastplate from Restov. When it arrives he will ask Kereek to enchant it for him (+1).
Are we paying retail or wholesale for Kereek's services?
