Solie scuttles over to her fallen companion. How many times had he died today? She'd lost count. She gave him a shake and when he didn't stir she smacked him with a healing spell. Hopefully one big enough to get such a big fellow back on his feet!

Blekk scurries back into the room. "Guys, guys! Did dance, went PERFECTLY. Bhagras all imitate me, think I got through and explained everything perfect. Sorry I doubted you Glob, power of dance really...powerful. Oh, Biggun died again? Oof. Been a rough day for him."
He glances back over his shoulder, realizing that he never actually checked to see if the Bhagra were following him. A glimmer of doubt crosses his face-is it possible that he's not as amazing as he thought he was?

Ravboom |

Still feels like rifles that aren't rifles are there to mess with gunslingers. :)
Ravboom grins. "See, acid work wonders! Get idiot free, fumes get in eyes of creature, make it easy to kill." Ravboom nods and begins going through the chemicals again. "Now, Rav need hour and Rav will have a LOT of things to go BOOM!" He digs out a large jar of sulfur, and a large jar of salt peter, and finally a large jar of charcoal.
He begins mixing them up in a pestle, measuring with care that seems odd to anyone who knows goblins. When he's done, he reloads the BoomRav, and spins the cylinders with glee. "BOOM!"
He then goes back to mixing in a larger container, until all the supplies are used up, and he has a dozen small metal containers full of gunpowder to put in his pack and on his person. "Ok, Rav now ready to kill stuff big time!"
He also grabs a few dozen ingots of lead from the supplies, often used in alchemy as a reaction agent. "More lead, more dead!" He says with gusto. "Biggun still dead? We need better fighter, or put him in armor and get better weapon." He digs the trident out from behind the table and hits Biggun on the head a couple of times. "Wake up!"

Globlob Needlefingers |

Globlob, being the dutiful healer that he is, promptly walks over to Biggun and starts jabbing him with the cure wand. Over and over and over again. At least, until he looks healthy enough to be able to walk on his own.
Cure Wand!: 2d8 + 2 ⇒ (7, 7) + 2 = 16
Not sure who is tracking charges on this. Whoever is, tick down 2 please?
At Blekk's reappearance, Globlob puffs up proudly and gives a big grin that is only half obscured by his skull hat. "Glob told Blekk! Is good trick, all fuzzy Bah-grah love dance. Everyone love dance; longshanks, too. Right, longshanks?" He looks up to Palomia for confirmation, expecting a great deal of agreement from her.

GM Zed |

I haven't really been keeping track of wand usage... I guess it's really the responsibility of the person who is wielding the item?
Whilst Andretta looks on with some degree of bemusement... and BR-N3R squats down in some form of 'hibernation mode'... the strange travelling fellows regroup. Ravboom, finally finding some materials that he can work with, gets the Boomrav working again...
...and most of the other folks concern themselves with prodding, poking and generally bashing Biggun until, finally, he stirs once more.
Eventually, Blekk clambers back out of the shaft... but the Bhagra, having followed him only as far as the entrance to the vertical shaft, have not followed.
Actions? For additional help, I have labelled up the doors on your map as per BR-N3R's information.

Blekk D'spessmun |

Blekk peers back down the shaft. "Hmm. Okay. So don't be mad. But I may have oversold performance. Entirely possible they were making fun of me and didn't follow. Dance has betrayed me."
He sadly gathers some alchemy components to refill his stocks.

Ravboom sighs, and acrobats down the shaft.
When he finds the doggies, he gets their attention.
Then he draws on the wall using a piece of metal.
First he draws a long tube on the wall. Then he draws four boxes attached to the tube. On the third one down, he draws a line to some little stick figures. He points to the stick figures, then to the Ba'Ghra. "Bagra bagra bagra!"
Then he draws a line from the second box to some more stick figures. "Rav Palo Relas... rawr! Relas!" He points to the quadruped figure.
Then he draws a smiling goblin face above the drawing. "Happy happy!" He moves his finger from the Rav Palo Relas trio to the shaft, and up, and to the happy face. "Happy Happy!"
He then draws a face with an X through it. "Dead Dead!"
Then he draws to the side a sun symbol and a moon symbol, with an arrow. He runs his finger over the moon and sun, and makes a mark. Then he points to the ba'ghra figures. Then he moves his finger over the moon/sun again, makes another mark and points to the ba'ghra, then a third time. After the third mark, he draws a bunch of lines next to the sun/moon and a grinning ba'ghra skull. "BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!" Then he touches the three lines, and then points to the baghra "BOOM BOOM!" And runs his finger from the Bha'gra to the dead face. "DEAD!" He touches the three again, and runs a finger from Rav Pelo Relas to the dead face. "BOOM!"
He touches the sun moon again once. Then runs his fingers from Rav Palo Relas to the happy goblin face. "Happy Happy!" The runs the fingers from Ba'ghra to the smiling goblin face. "Happy Happy."
He touches the sun/moon a second time, and repeats the finger move and 'happy happy'.
Then he touches the sun/moon a third time, and draws from both groups to the dead face. "BOOM BOOM!"
Then he makes motions, shooing the ba'ghra toward the shaft. "Happy Happy!" He points to the shaft, then the smiling goblin face.
He points to the room they were in, and the dead face. "BOOM BOOM!"
Having done as much as he can, he goes back to the shaft and points up. "HAPPY HAPPY!" and begins to climb.

His eyes snapping open, Biggun jumped up and said, "Biggun save day again!" before promptly slipping on fluids and falling down again. Shaking his head, he got himself back up and reached for the weapon that caused all this mess. It looked like an interesting weapon, if not as big as he'd have liked. Turning it over in his hands, he looked for any indication of how it worked.

Blekk D'spessmun |

"Palo, don't be so grumpy all the time! It's a nice day-we're alive, got to dance a few times today, and look!" Blekk holds up a jar of yellow stuff. "Found some powdered kitty mucus! Good for healing potions. Gonna need more if you and Biggun keep getting hurt." He winks at her mischievously, knowing that she has no idea if healing potions actually use that ingredient.

Ravboom |

"There's a vial of dried mung worms over there, Blekk. And I saw some powdered beetle shells too, vermilion." Rav says in a distracted way, as he double checks his gun before spinning the chambers with satisfaction.

Blekk D'spessmun |

"Ooh, vermillion! Much better than these crappy orange ones I got..." Blekk continues stuffing his alchemy kit full of ingredients until it's almost overflowing, explaining as he does so. "In village, we either have to forage for everything or order from travelling salesmen. Daddy never let me order the good ingredients, said was too expensive. Something about shipping fees being more than item itself? I dunno. Not even sure if daddy can actually count."
I feel like you could make some serious cash selling stuff to goblin tribes living deep in the jungle. Certainly more than enough to justify the huge trip to and from their villages, at least.

Solie plunks down on the ground and watches as everyone does things. She was wiped; maybe one more spell left in her and even that was going to be a challenge to pull off.
"Are we there yet?" she asked with a pout.

GM Zed |

Half of me is tempted to roll INT or WIS checks for the Bhagra to check their understanding… whilst another part of me is wondering whether Ravboom should be rolling some form of Diplomacy check… but tbh how can I argue with that drawing!?! MS Paint at its most glorious best
As Ravboom clambers up the shaft, the reward for his efforts not yet known, the Bhagra ‘talk’ amongst themselves…
…until, about two minutes after Ravboom has returned to the group and returned to inspection of the Boomrav, a scrabbling noise can be heard coming from the shaft… the Bhagra, apparently not particularly adept at climbing, making their way slowly upwards…
So… any more exploration on this level (there are three rooms that BR-N3R identified) or heading upwards towards the ‘Gate’ that the robot spoke of? Or something else?

Ravboom |

Ravboom would want to search each room for valuables. However, the player doesn't want to hold up the game to explore some rooms that likely have nothing but combats and no real valuable things for the game to go forward. Maybe we could just do percentage rolls to explore the rest of the floor so we don't have to play out searching each room?

GM Zed |

Of the three rooms remaining on this level, two are mainly flavour and background information for you... whilst one will definitely result in a combat.
If folks prefer, I can write a narrative that has you exploring the two 'safe' rooms first before launching you into a final combat on this level...

![]() |

That's fine with me. Just really looking to visiting the planet lol.
With the new pitchfork over his shoulder, Biggun was ready to go. "Bahgra coming to help? Or did Rav confuse dog people?"

Blekk D'spessmun |

Yeah, that's fine with me too.
Blekk chugs his extract of Heightened Awareness and pulls out a wicked-looking morningstar from his pack. "No more mutagen for the day...looks like I gotta use my old smashy-stick now. Also-just in case I get eaten or paralyzed or anything, got a ton of flasks of fire and tanglyfoot bags in backpack. Just so you know."
For the next 20 minutes I get +2 to all Perception and Knowledge checks, and I can dismiss it immediately at the start of combat for a +4 bonus to initiative. Which I plan on doing. I have 1 extract of CLW remaining for the day, after which I'm fresh out of extracts/mutagens. If we decide to sleep anytime soon, Blekk will drink his extract of cure light wounds just before going to bed-he's missing just a few HP, but since nobody else can use it and it's going to become inert in the morning, there's really no harm in doing it.

Globlob Needlefingers |

Searching a few of the rooms is good with me, too. @Blekk, I think if Rav was taking some time to get his gun stuff sorted, you could've made another mutagen. There's no limit that says one a day, just that it takes an hour to make.
@DM, I didn't even realize I was the one holding the wand, so let me dig up how many charges it started with and how many we have used so I can update my sheet with it. Sorry about that!
"Definitely confuse. Bah-grah seem like confuse easily. Rav good at confusing," Globlob chimes in with a nod that sends his big ears flapping furiously. Their brief rest done, he hops back to his feet and pulls his bow back out, just in case.

Ravboom |

Yeah, Rav took an hour to make make gunpowder, and then 30 minutes to talk to the Bah'Grah
Rav snorts. "Rav draw pictures, even long shanks understand pictures. Understand skull is bad, and smiling gobbie is good. Also understand "BOOM" after three suns pass. Easier to show with pictures than dance."
And yes, summary of the rooms and into combat works well, as long as we healed our meat shield up to full iwth the wand.

Blekk D'spessmun |

Well would you look at that. I can't believe I missed that mutagens weren't once a day. I guess it's because extracts are only a certain amount per day, but they only take a minute to make. So when you have that hour of prep time in the morning, you use it to make the mutagen and then your extracts just take a few moments. If nobody objects, I'll totally make another mutagen.

Relas |

I'm good with that Blekk and also good with a bit of narrative from the GM to speed us along a little!
"I kinda think grumpy is just Palo's normal state," Relas offers. "What!? Don't look at me like that; it is and you know it! But it's okay, we love you anyway."
The eidolon watches curiously as Rav and Blekk go about their business; his summoner taking a page from Soli's book and having a brief rest. "Kitty mucus? I guess I'm not really a kitty but I do look like one. Think my mucus would work too?"
"Hey! Here come the Bhagra! Think they need a hand?"

Blekk D'spessmun |

"Hmm. I dunno. Next time you sneeze, do it into a vial. We'll find out!"
Blekk mixes his mutagen, THEN chugs his extract of Heightened Awareness.

GM Zed |

Electing to explore the ‘Tauslek Habitat’ first, the group move to the north-eastern door… opening it reveals an octagonal shaped room with a bare stone floor, walls, and ceiling with no discernible function. Two doors reside in the eastern wall - the southernmost of the doors is made of an organic material whilst the northernmost one is glass... the rest of the wall (above waist height) between the doors is glass, too thick to be easily smashed open. Neither door responds to the action of the metal cylinder nor to any other attempts to open them…
And so, deciding to move on, the group move to ‘Microbiology’…
Opening the door to the south, a rectangular room with two work tables - both covered with alchemical and microbiological tools and equipment, is discovered. The glass vials, the metallic cylinders and the various flasks that are distributed throughout the room prove to have relatively benign substances contained within them… until, looking around for arcane objects… two separate items, both nestled amongst mundane equipment, are found…
The first, issuing a faint divination aura, is stuffed within a drawer and appears to be a heart-shaped charm… inset with three pearls. It is a Spellcraft DC20 check to determine that this is a Noble’s Vigilant Pillbox.
Whilst the second, connected into a series of pipes and jugs, is a metallic two-spouted funnel – it is giving off a faint transmutation aura. It is a Spellcraft DC18 check to determine that this is a Hybridization Funnel.
…and then Andretta sees something, on a bench in the corner, a leather-bound book is open at a page partially filled with hand-written notes, ”Look… maybe that will give us some clues as to who is responsible for this place? Who took us… and why”
Andretta peruses the journal, ”It’s written in ‘Ultari’…”, she starts to flick through the pages, ”Hmmm, it’ll take me a while to work my way through this… it’s mainly scientific jargon and formulae… but this!!!”, Andretta stops and reads on quietly for a moment…
”This journal seems to be written by ‘Acting Commander at Garsilt, Lomrick’… you said that you were from a world called ‘Golarion’? This passage here…”, Andretta points to a swathe of elegantly written symbols, ”it talks about field trials on a newly discovered planet… ‘Golarion’… it says that his Xoraphond agent, Vuelib, reported an initial degree of instability with its prepared assimilation strain due to a genetic deviation in the natives… Apparently Lomrick instructed this ‘Vuelib’ to adjust accordingly and start a second trial… Does any of this make sense? Does it explain why you are here?”. Andretta flicks on through a few pages before arriving at another passage of text, ”Fascinating… what does this mean? Vuelib reported a critical discovery in its analysis of the deviation… it doesn’t say what… but Lomrick states here that if it was confirmed, that it should be reported to the Scions of the Celestial Helix immediately!!! Do you know what that is? I’ve never heard of such a thing”.
Andretta closes the journal over, ”We should take this with us… and, if we ever get the time, I must try to teach you some Ultari”.
…and finally, to the ‘Klaven Conversion Chamber’…
When the door slides open, a smell, both acrid and pungent at the same time, assaults the senses of the friends… taking a moment to compose themselves, the friends peer inside…
Four vats sit on the floor of this rectangular room with slanted corners. Each one is four feet in diameter and four feet tall, filled with a thick opaque, greenish liquid which slowly bubbles, though no steam rises from the top. Next to each vat is a wooden enclosure filled with glass bottles and alembics connected by a maze of glass pipes; these contraptions appear to create the greenish fluid and slowly pump it into the adjacent vats through four transparent, flexible hoses.
…a glass-fronted cabinet is attached to the front of each of the vats – each one showing a symbol that appears to be a stylised pictogram of a syringe inserted into a bleeding heart. Within three of the four cabinets, there is a metallic syringe containing a red serum…

Ravboom |

Ravboom glances at the other gobbies. "No teach read, keep words in head..." He says, somewhat desultorily, as if reading from a script. He does swipe any small easily carried items and stuffs them into his backpack, figuring there's always going to be a market for small easily portable things made of glass or metal. Also any bottles they can't identify what is in them, as those might be valuable.
Once they get to the vats, he wrinkles his nose. "Smell like Blekk go bathroom in here."

If it's okay, could I identify the hybridization funnel? Blekk would definitely know what it is over the other thing.
"Oof. Not wrong. Smells like community outhouse after taco night...also, this funnel mine now. Always wanted a funnel. "

Ravboom |

"No good for Blekk, Blekk's head not pointy enough for funnel."

Blekk D'spessmun |

"Nonono, is not hat. Can mix different ingredients. Can do things like make fire that also burns bad guys. Also doubles as a hat, I suppose."

Ravboom |

"So funnel lets you make fire that burns, unlike fire that doesn't burn, like normal?" Rav asks slowly, giving Blekk yet another look like he's got a second gobbie head growing out of the top of his current gobbie head.

Blekk D'spessmun |

"Well. Kinda. So you have regular fire. And then you take special priest water, it only makes bad guys burn. So they catch on fire and burn twice!"

![]() |

"But fire burn all, not just one," Biggun said, his head cocked to the side. "Even Biggun know this. Maybe Blekk take too many liquid, mess with head."

Palomia Kasic |
Spellcraft (Charm): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
Palomia sighs as her efforts get her no closer to determining the properties of the strange little heart-shaped charm they'd found. "No damn clue what this is, but it could be handy so let's take it with us anyway. Maybe I'll have a better chance at figuring it out when I've got a chance to study it without the threat of imminent death hanging over my head."
When Andrietta translates some of the strange journal for them, the summoner's eyes light up. "Vuelib! I remember! He...it?...was behind the strange things we were looking into on our home," she explains. "There were goblins acting as if under some sort of mind control and at least one that had a big tumor on his body like the one we found on that...box-thing in the other room! So there was a lot more going on than what we thought..."
Suddenly, she looks rather worried - a strange expression for her. "That's...not good. If there was one or two experiments happening on Golarion then there are bound to be more...or there will be soon, at this rate."
********************************
"Ughhhh...this place smells like an alchemy lab blew up in an outhouse," Palomia groans when they enter the Conversion Chamber. As they look around, her eyes are drawn to the odd little syringes and she peers at one suspiciously. "What are these things supposed to be?"

Blekk D'spessmun |

Blekk sighs as he gives up on trying to explain alchemy to these plebs. "Someone help me look at these syringes. Is on tip of tongue."
If I take 20 and someone aides me (you can do that, right?) I can just barely make the heal check.

Ravboom |

You can't take 20 on knowledge checks. And in this case, I think the Heal is a knowledge check about healing, so I would guess you can't take 20 there either.

Blekk D'spessmun |

I'm not so sure, actually-from the rules, it only says that you can't be in immediate danger, and a failure on the skill check can't end in harming yourself/others. Heal's in one of those grey areas, in my opinion. Depends on what the GM says, I guess. But even if I can take 20 on it, I'm still 1 point short of the DC, which is why I'd need an assist. Really gotta put more points into heal, I guess.

Ravboom |

You can't take 20 on a knowledge check because you can't retry a knowledge check. Since you can't retry it, you can't take 20, because taking 20 explicitly says you keep doing it until you get the best possible result.

Blekk D'spessmun |

Very good point, yeah. I guess knowing something is kind of an all-or-nothing type of deal. Oh well! Still got that sweet, sweet hybridization funnel out of the deal. Will come in handy once I can reliably succeed on the combine DC.

Ravboom |

If it makes you feel better, nobody could aid another anyway. You can only aid another if you are capable of hitting the target number yourself.

![]() |

As the others tried to figure out the pointy things in the cabinet, Biggun moved over to the bubbling liquids. Giving one tub a soft tap with his new weapon, he asked Blekk, "Blekk, what this?"

Ravboom |

In cases where the skill restricts who can achieve certain results, such as trying to open a lock using Disable Device, you can't aid another to grant a bonus to a task that your character couldn't achieve alone. The GM might impose further restrictions to aiding another on a case-by-case basis as well.
Given a knowledge check is a one and done, that seems to fall into the same bucket as disable device, one person does it once. With knowledge, if you know the DC 30, you also know the DC 25 and DC 20. If someone can only get DC 25, they don't really offer any additional information, since you already know everything they do, assuming the DC is 26 or higher.
