None of the knowledge checks hit the mark...
First Blekk taps it and then Ravboom runs his hand around it... and it certainly seems that the green disk is some form of locking mechanism for, with a ‘click’ followed by a peculiar creaking noise from somewhere within the walls, the door starts to move… it slides, with some creasing of the fibrous material, into the wall revealing a large chamber beyond - the light from the room where the friends stand providing just enough illumination to see the five doors leading from what, on first impressions, appears to be a central ‘lobby’. There are no sources of light within this central chamber… there are orbs in the ceiling, similar to the one that is illuminated in the room where the cylinders ‘disgorged’ the abductees, but they give off no light.
Waiting and looking for movement, the friends quickly determine that the chamber is unoccupied… whilst, all the time, the gnoll-creatures watch the friends intently…
Map update to follow but, for now, there are doors to the South-West, the West, the North, the North-East and to the East (and the friends are currently coming from a door to the South). Additionally, there is a central column, around 10ft by 10ft, in the chamber - it too has a door set in it.

Blekk D'spessmun |

"Oh boy, it's kinda dark in there...anyone see our stuff? Eyes aren't that great, kinda blew them up a teensy bit a few months back..."

Ravboom |

Ravboom makes a face. "Blowing up other peoples eyes correct way, not self eyes. Dumb dumb blow up self eyes."
Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 9 = 28 Darkvision
Ravboom looks up at the orb, then the dark orbs, then the chamber outside. "So, round disk open door, turn clockwise, open door. Turn widdow shins to close." The goblin then carefully checks for traps before stepping out into the chamber.
Needless to say, the not dumb dumb goblin grabs a piece of rebar from the inside of the tube he was tearing apart earlier as a make shift club before he does so.

Palomia Kasic |
"Gonna have to agree with Rav on this one, that was pretty dumb if you did it on purpose," Palo agrees. "And unless you all want to lead me around again I'm going to conjure a light."
Following Ravboom's lead the summoner looks around among the tubing and other detritus from the cylinders until she finds a piece that'll do as a makeshift torch. Conjuring forth a light on the end, she motions towards the open doorway. "Looks like we've got our pick of doors - check the next one over (south-west) then?"

Globlob Needlefingers |

Globlob follows after the group, keeping quiet for the moment as he works to keep up his interpretive dance for the sake of the gnolls. Because communication is paramount in situations like this, of course. And because he really has no idea what else to do at the moment. The rest of the group seems to have all this handled.

![]() |

Solie follows Rav's example and grabs a bit of tube or anything else she can find loose and casts light on it. She holds it out in front of her like a torch. Of course she gets distracted and starts making shadow puppets as they move through the magic door, but at least she's helping brighten things up.

Relas |

"Okay Palo, I'll check it out," Relas whispers as he attempts to quietly pad over to the south-west door and have a listen as well as see if it opens the same way the first door did.
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14

GM Zed |

Apologies for no post yesterday – I was travelling for work and had little to no internet access until late in the evening.
The gnoll-creatures (the more that the group observe them, the more convinced they become that they are not truly gnolls) continue to watch the exploration of the room. They do become more inquisitive as the door creaks open but, with the friends standing there, make no attempt to move towards it….
Biggun – there are no buttons to ‘turn on small suns’ anywhere here.
Moving towards the first door on the left, the first obvious feature is the green disk – set in the wall - erratically blinking… speculatively waving his hand over it, Ravboom opens the door – creaking, it slowly slides to about a halfway open position before, with a cracking sound, it comes to a juddering halt. Peering in - it is possible to see, from the light seeping through the door, a rectangular room holding several shelves and racks - a range of weapons, pieces of armour and other items are scattered across the shelves.
Actions?

Globlob Needlefingers |

As Rav opens yet another door, Globlob's curiosity gets the better of him and he scurries forward. Mashing his face up alongside Ravboom's so that he might be able to peer inside with Darkvision, no less his eyes go wide with wonder at what looks to be an armory. "I go look. Be sneaks. You stay."
As though that decides how to handle this, he squeezes himself through the door with a bit of effort and starts prowling around in the semi-darkness in search of enemies.

Arranged in regimented piles, each one topped by a pice of paper enscribed with an inexplicably curved script, Globlob finds his belongings... and the BoomRav... and Biggun's chain... and Solie's clothes....
Everyone has all of their equipment now.
...and in other piles on the shelves, two potions of cure light wounds, a masterwork short spear, four sets of leather armor, four scimitars, and four longbows with 20 arrows each. Looking around, there are no other exits from this storage area...
Map coming soon... I promise!!!

Blekk D'spessmun |

Blekk digs around in his backpack. "Where are they, where are they, where are they...HA!"
He holds his mutagen up triumphantly, then carefully puts it in his belt pouch, in easy reach of his tail. He then tosses his ioun torch into orbit around his head. "See, after my night vision go away, friendly traveling salesman sold me this. See? It hovers! No hands needed." He smiles proudly.
Blekk then gears up, putting all his armor and weapons on, as well as fashioning his traveler's any-tool into a belt clip for easy access.
"Oh-anyone want that healy juice, they can have. Made like...four of them earlier today. Think they still in backpack...yep! Here they are. Oh, and some make-big drinks too. Forgot those were there. Was gonna drop them off at hunter's lodge before bed, but you know. Got taken here instead."

Joining the others at the doorway, after failing to find a way to light the strange, little suns above their heads, Biggun was happy to finally find his equipment. Quickly sliding into his armor, he started rubbing his face against his beloved chain, murmuring nonsense to it. With that over, he wrapped it around his torso like a bandolier and looked at the other items on the shelves. Picking up one of the potions, he put it in his pack and walked back out. "Should find other things. Maybe other big weapon out there for Biggun to use!"

Palomia Kasic |
"Ah hah! Much better!" Palo smiles with satisfaction as they find the missing gear. After reclaiming her possessions, she pokes her head out of the door back into the main room and attempts to wave the 'gnolls' over. "Bha-Gra...? Not sure if that's your name," she nods at the leader, "or what you all are but I think we found your stuff!"

Relas |

"Well, that's one door down and uh...five or six more to go?" Relas muses as the others don their gear. "Glob or Biggun should probably lead while we're poking around - those weird disk things are kinda hard for me to reach anyway. Oh! Maybe I should have Palo give me people-arms next time?"

![]() |

It was almost sad to find clothes,Solie had gotten used to naked freedom. Oh well, nothing good lasts forever. At least the goblins would be dressed now, they could use a little less freedom in her expert opinion.
"Crazy new gobby, you already have extra arm growing out your butt. Globlob dance-tell big mutts to get their stuff or we use it for them."

Palomia Kasic |
"Yeahhh, I'm afraid it doesn't work like that," Palo responds, giving Blekk an appraising look. "Relas is bound to me by magic and a lot of my magic seems to only work on him - why, I'm not really sure. But I think most of it wouldn't be very helpful for anyone that isn't Relas anyway. And Solie has a point, you uh...seem like you've got a lot of 'extra' for a goblin..."

GM Zed |

The ‘Bha-Gra’ manage to interpret Palomia’s intentions, backed up by a ridiculous mime from Globlob, and quickly move to collect armour, scimitars and bows… bowing in a deferential manner to Palomia, they move back in to the room where everyone awoke… barking peculiar phrases at each other, they start to don their armour…
There are a further five doors that you could explore from the antechamber… West, North, North-East and East… or the door in the central column area.

Ravboom |

"Don't be silly, you'd look like a cat centaur with people arms, unless you want them out of your back, then you'd look like Blekk and people would throw up on sight." He responds to the eidelon.

Blekk D'spessmun |

Blekk nods gravely. "Ravboom sorta true. Blekk scares small children. But throw up? No. Only if Blekk's walking around with Daddy-Chief Blurk."

Ravboom |

"You obviously never visit long shank village. Taller things are, the easier they throw up. It's because their stomachs too far from ground." He looks at Biggun and Palo, and whispers. "Same reason they not too bright, head too far from feet."

Relas |

"Ohh...I'd be a cataur! That would actually be pretty neat and I could hold a weapon like you guys do! Hey Palo, can you do that next time?"

Palomia Kasic |
"Am I the only one that's just a little worried about all this?" Palo sighs as she waves her arm to indicate their strange surroundings. "Focus please! We need to find a way out of here before whoever did this comes back and there's plenty of doors left to try."
With that, the summoner impatiently walks over to the next door (west) and presses the disc to open it.

Blekk D'spessmun |

"See what you mean, Rav. Palo waaay too impatient. Needs to take a break and smell roses. Or...whatever gunk was in other room. Smelled like fish and dirt. So not great, but at least Blekk took the time to smell it, you know?"
He gestures to Relas. "Bear thing gets it, don't you, bear thing?"

Globlob Needlefingers |

Globlob scoffs at Blekk and Rav as he scurries off after Palo, ever curious to see what the rest of this place might hold for them. As soon as Palo prods the disc, he ducks behind the edge of the door and slooooowly peeks around it. If he sees nothing of note or great concern, he will begin to slink down the hallway with his own themesong playing in his head.

Ravboom |

Rav shrugs. "Goblins and Gobbies never worry. Too much energy. Things happen, then you die. Hopefully lots of things before you die." He tells Palo, then searches the room with their weapons to see if there's any hidden areas, letting the stealthier duo of Glob and Relas do the sneaky scouting.
Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29

GM Zed |

Ravboom - there don't appear to be any other hidden areas or equipment in the room where the friend's equipment was retrieved.
Moving towards one of the doors, the one next clockwise from where they retrieved their gear, Palomia cursorily examines the surface of the door, the green disk adjacent to it and the wall surrounding the door. Satisfied that it isn't trapped, she waves her hand across the disk...
...and is rewarded with a negative sounding 'Buzz' sound - the door itself remains obstinately and pointedly closed...

Ravboom |

"We try again later, Palo. It be clockwork inside, Rav tear it apart and make work, if no find key somewhere." He assures her, and heads to the next door, sniffing around it first and listening at it before cautiously opening it.
Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22

Relas |

"Actually cat thing would fit a little better, but being a bear would've been neat too," Relas responds to Blekk. "I dunno about stopping to smell things though, at least not at this height. Sure there's flowers but there's also walking-all-day people feet smell too. Ugh...I don't know how other animals can stand it!"

Solie pokes and prods the door Palo had just tried, not satisfied that the human had done it right. Not that she had any better luck but it was better to check and not let the human mess everything up. She skipped after the others to see the next room, poking her head around Globlob with no attempt at stealth.

GM Zed |

Finally... You folks have a map to help you visualise what's going on...
Moving around to the northern door, Ravboom listens...
...and hears, in fact everyone hears, the sudden roaring that comes from the other side of the door, "Bha-Gra!!! Bha-Gra!!! Bha-...", suddenly interrupted by a slew of unintelligible words - spoken in a feminine voice, the shouting stops abruptly... and is replaced with silence...
Are you folks doing anything before attempting to open the door?

Globlob Needlefingers |

Globlob pauses and tilts his head, those big bat ears swivelling as he listens to the shouting. He shifts to peer at the rest of the group uncertainly before he shrugs and starts sneaking back to the room they came from. Better to deal with where they have already been before finding something new.
Need me to reroll my checks or just stick with what I already had?

![]() |

"Oh! More Bad-Grrs!" Solie said back to the others. "Someone go get the other Bad-Grrs."

Relas |

"Maybe more friends of the dogmen back there? They might be in trouble - we should help them!" Relas whispers anxiously.

GM Zed |

So, I think the consensus seems to be – moreorless – grab the other Bha-gra and then try to get into the northern door where the other Bha-gra seem to have suddenly gone quiet? Posting along those lines to keep us moving along…
As the bha-gra beyond the northern door go suddenly quiet, it seems that there is cause for enlisting the help of the dog-men that the group previously made a tentative peace with… and so, once more it falls to Globlob and his interpretative dance to act as some form of communication – the goblin, struggling for inspiration as how to communicate his request, is somewhat fortunate then that the bha-gra had already heard the noises… and are ready, scimitars in hand, when he opens the door…
Rushing forwards to the northern door, shouting what must surely be a war-cry, ”BHA-GRA!!! BHA-GRA!!!”, they look to one of the goblins to open the door… Ravboom, his gun already to hand, complies …the same fragrant smell of the goo released from the open cylinders fills this stone chamber. Eight more of the cylinders stand in the four corners between the walls, their transparent panels already open.
In front of the group, three unconscious gnoll creatures already lying on the floor, their fur still partially covered in goo. Standing among them is a humanoid female... dressed in the same cotton-like strips that the friends were wearing when they stepped from the cylinders, she looks at the friends… and the onrushing bha-gra - as the door opens... and then pleading, in the friend's own language, "Stay your weapons... Please... We must work together..."
Map update to follow.

Palomia Kasic |
"Whoa whoa whoa, hold it!" Palomia cries as the woman begs them for help, reaching out and grabbing at Biggun to try and keep him from clobbering her senseless with his chain before she could speak. "Who are you and what's going on?" Although she was fairly certain that the woman had probably had a similar experience to her own and had been unable to pacify the dogmen, she also knew they had to tread carefully in this strange place.
Sense Motive: 1d20 ⇒ 13

![]() |

Biggun looked at the strange -female? Wasn't sure with non-goblins- before looking at the dog men on the ground. "How you kill dog things?" he asked bluntly.

Globlob Needlefingers |

Globlob, true to form, slides into the room and promptly starts tapdancing his way toward the woman with the downed gnoll-things. Along the way, he makes sure to snap his fingers along with the beat his feet make with every step. If it were a human doing so, this level of skill and professionalism would look brilliant and elegant. But as it is a graceless goblin, it just looks weird and silly and downright ridiculous. Not that he minds. There are some gnoll-things and a new lady to pacify.

1 person marked this as a favorite. |

Solie sizes up the new woman with a frown and pursed lips. Other people were doing things and they didn't involve Solie. Everything should involve Solie!
"Stand back!" she says out loud, though its doubtful anyone listens. "Witch-lady, talk now! Explain! Explain!"

Ravboom |

"Oh, for frack's sake." Rav says in a long suffering tone. He checks his gun, 3 rounds left, and pouts. "EVERYONE SHUT UP! RAV IS TIRED OF SPENDING HIS GUNPOWDER FOR NO FRACKING REASON!" When he has everyone's attention, he takes a battered old leather hat out of his pack and jams it down on his head. He digs a pipe out of his pack, and lights it, blowing smoke. "Rav has had enough. Rav kills the next person that does something stupid. Now, everyone stop fighting, stop screaming, and calm the frack down or bullets will calm people the frack down."
He eyes Relas. "Rav mean it to!" He tells the cat, tugging the brim down over one eye. "Make them understand, Relas remember hat..."

GM Zed |

Palomia – the woman seems just as bewildered as everyone else… and doesn’t appear to be an immediate threat.
Moving backwards as the Bha-gra approach her, the woman attempts to reassure everyone, ”They’re asleep… they’re just sleeping… they awoke from those cylinders about the same time I did – and very quickly turned on me… I had no option, believe me!!! Call your Bha-Gra off… call them off!!!”
Increasingly panicked as they start to flick their scimitars in her direction, the woman starts to intone alien words towards the bha-gra that Globlob brought with him… for a moment they seem a little becalmed, a little less aggressive in their posture – and then, Ravboom somehow gets their attention. They stop… and turn to face the goblin... their focus diverted away from the woman for a moment, they start barking in their guttural language, ”Roff, Koff, Akk, Roff - Kakk!!! Bha-Gra Kakk!!! Bha-Gra Kakk!!!”
Palomia – it seems that the Bha-gra consider the woman as a threat… and are confused as to why Ravboom… or anyone else… isn’t attacking her.

![]() |

Biggun wondering that too
Walking into the room, Biggun casually swung his chain around. "Why call dog things off? Why Biggun not let them kill you?" he asked with a wicked grin.

Palomia Kasic |
Palo gives the woman a hard stare for a moment before something in her demeanor shifts and she seems to relax a little bit. "Hey, I think she's being serious - she's as confused about all of this as we are. Glob, they seem to like your dancing; can you tell them that their friends here are just sleeping and that this was some sort of misunderstanding?"

Ravboom |

"No need dance..." Ravboom digs a shiny bit of metal out of his kit, walks over to the downed dogs, and holds the bit in front of one's nose, making it obvious that the metal fogs over with moisture from the breath. Then he puts his head on his folded up hands, and makes a god-awful snoring noise. Then he begins shaking the bha-gra awake.

Relas |

"I kinda like the dancing...but Rav's idea seems faster," the eidolon comments idly. He looks up at the strange woman. "What's your name?"
